Chapter 15 Dreaming of the Xu Family (2/2)

Unfortunately, her grandfather is no longer alive, and he was murdered! So she has no choice but to protect herself and her family, make those who dared to bully her pay back tenfold, and find the murderer from back then to seek justice for her grandfather!

Thinking back to how scared she was when she first heard the news, Ye Ran secretly despised herself. She'd already died once, what was there to be afraid of? At worst, she'd just die again!

Although she is still very weak now, she believes that she will not continue like this. In her previous life, she was able to make a name for herself in Haicheng. In this life, she has the advantage of seizing the initiative, so she will certainly not be any worse off.

She silently encouraged herself and sketched out some future plans in her mind before falling asleep...

Perhaps because of her unstable emotions and the overwhelming amount of information she absorbed after her rebirth, Ye Ran didn't sleep very soundly. In her hazy state, Ye Ran seemed to feel herself getting lighter and lighter...

Gradually, it seemed as if a cool breeze was lifting it up, slowly floating away, drifting further and further until it flew out of the house and headed in one direction...

As she floated along, Ye Ran saw the outline of a house. Although she hadn't seen it for many years, she recognized it at a glance as the cage that had once imprisoned her!

Ye Ran cursed inwardly, "How could I have such a disgusting dream, dreaming about the Xu family!"

The thought of dreaming about this disgusting place made Ye Ran want to wake up immediately, but her eyelids felt like they were glued shut, and she couldn't open them no matter what she did...

In my dream, I drifted even faster towards the Xu family's house...

As soon as she entered, Ye Ran saw Xu Qiang and Xu Qingyan talking about something.

Upon seeing the two men she hated most in her life, Ye Ran couldn't help but widen her eyes, her gaze filled with hatred and rage.

Not knowing what Xu Qingyan had said before, Xu Qiang silently took a puff of his pipe, watching Xu Qingyan quietly through the swirling smoke, only the sound of him puffing away could be heard.

Xu Qiang was a middle-aged man with dark skin. He was not tall, slightly hunched over, and had a stubble beard and deep wrinkles on his face. Overall, he looked like an ordinary country man.

But what makes him stand out at a glance are his eyes! They are triangular eyes that slant upwards, and the slanted eyebrows and upturned corners of his eyes create a fierce look.

What's even more ferocious is his gaze—a gaze that's never satisfied with anything, radiating an intense lust! Even someone who knows nothing about him could see his greed at a glance.

After a moment of silence, Xu Qiang exhaled a deep puff of smoke, making the smoke in the room thicker and giving it an eerie feel. "You mean Ye Ran already knows who saved her?"

"Yes, Dad, it's all because of that Lu Yi! Of all times, he just happened to pass by and ruined our plans!"

"It's all because you're useless! Such a good opportunity, how could you miss it by a step!"

"It's all because of Mom that I'm in this mess. She delayed me a bit before I left, and by the time I got there, Ye Ran had already been pulled out of the water..."

"This good-for-nothing is more likely to ruin things than get things done! Such a good opportunity is hard to come by..." Xu Qiang said, taking another puff of his pipe.

Then a fierce glint flashed in his eyes, "But don't take it too seriously. If we can do something like this once, we can certainly do it a second time! Just don't mess things up next time."

"Okay, Dad!"

Ye Ran's eyes widened in shock. What did the Xu father and son mean by that? Was her falling into the water not an accident? Was it all orchestrated by them? What exactly were they trying to do?

What was it all for...?
