Chapter 244 Secret Passage
Aoba was shocked. Could it be Aoba...?
He quickly stepped forward and, using the dim light, looked over. Seeing the size of the body, he was relieved; Qingzhu wasn't that strong…
But then he became anxious again. Judging from the man's appearance, he must have been knocked unconscious. What about Qingzhu?
Qingye lowered her voice and whispered to Qingzhu, "Qingzhu, are you still here?"
As soon as he finished speaking, a rustling sound came from the bushes, followed by a small, soft voice replying, "Yes... Brother Qingye, is that you?"
"It's me! Come out quickly."
Qingzhu carefully emerged from the bushes. "Did you bring Brother Qingmu here?"
"I brought him here. Qingzhu, how are you? How come there's someone lying here?" Qingye looked at the person lying on the ground, a hint of fear flashing in her eyes.
Qingzhu lowered her eyes timidly, "I don't know... This person just walked here, and I was so scared that I didn't dare to move. Then I saw another person come up behind him and knock him unconscious..."
Aoba had a slight suspicion, but didn't ask any further questions. "Alright, now that we're all here, let's hurry up and leave while no one's around!"
"Okay, where do we go from here?" Qingzhu asked softly, looking at the person lying on the ground.
Qingye gritted her teeth, "We definitely can't go out through the main gate. Let's go to the back of Qingyu's yard. His yard wall is lower, so we can climb over it and get out."
Qingzhu hesitated for a moment, "But that would still make it easy to be discovered..."
Aoba also felt a surge of tension. "Then what do you suggest we do?"
Qingzhu glanced at Qingmu, who hadn't said a word, and asked, "What's wrong with Qingmu-ge? Why haven't you said anything?"
Aoki kept his mouth tightly shut and didn't answer, but just pointed at Aoba.
Aoba sighed softly, "I told him to keep quiet, Aoki, you can speak now."
Aoki then opened his mouth and gasped for breath. Looking at him, Aoki's eyes darkened for a moment before he asked softly, "What should we do? Brother Aoki, how do we get out of here?"
Aoki looked at him, scratching his head in confusion. "I know a place to get out. There's a tunnel inside the storage room that leads to the outside."
Upon hearing this, Aoba was shocked and questioned sharply, "Aoki, how did you know about this?"
Aoki was frightened by his brother's furious expression. He shrank back two steps and then secretly glanced at Aoki.
Seeing Qingzhu's calm expression, Qingmu answered softly, "I went there to play by chance."
I only found out when I saw the storage room door open, there was a hole in the ground inside, and then I saw Aunt Wu Mei come out of it..."
Qingye felt there was something wrong with what she said, and he was about to ask her a few more questions when he heard Qingzhu whisper, "Brother Qingye, now that we know there's a tunnel we can go through, let's go out first!"
It's too dangerous here, I'm scared..."
Upon hearing this, Qingye remembered the urgent situation at hand, and could only glare at Qingmu resentfully before quietly leading the two of them to the storage room.
Before leaving, taking advantage of Qingye and the others' inattention, Qingzhu flicked her finger lightly, and a silver needle pierced the person on the ground.
When the man was discovered, he had already died, and his face was black, clearly indicating poisoning. The courtyard was thrown into chaos once again.
Qingye led the two children quietly around to the entrance of the storage room. Everyone was outside looking for Qingzhu, so there was no one here.
Aoba carefully lifted his two younger brothers, who were smaller than him, and the three of them carefully climbed over the skylight.
Once inside, Qingzhu tugged at Qingmu's sleeve, "Brother Qingmu, didn't you say you knew there was a tunnel here? Where is it?"
Aoki looked at him in confusion, blinking a few times as if he wanted to say something, before being interrupted by Aoba's anxious voice, "Aoki, hurry up, it looks like someone is coming."
Upon hearing this, the two of them indeed heard several sounds coming from a distance. Aoki quickly went to the place he had seen last time and tapped on a brick in the wall. Sure enough, a large hole appeared in the right corner of the wall.
Qingye was overjoyed. He took a deep breath and then took the lead, leading them down into the tunnel. Once down there, the first thing they found was a secret room filled with things.
But because they were in the dark underground, these things emitted an undeniable stench of decay. Qingye glanced at them quickly, and then his eyes lit up.
There was even an oil lamp burning softly underground, which explained why they could see their surroundings clearly. It's unclear who lit it.
But Aoba couldn't think about that anymore. He picked up the oil lamp and led his two younger brothers to continue walking.
The underground was quiet and damp, and all they could hear were their heavy breathing and hurried footsteps. After an unknown amount of time, they finally saw that they had reached the end of the road.
Aoba took a deep breath, then stood on tiptoe and pushed open a small wooden door above their heads...
As soon as the door opened, fresh, invigorating air rushed into their nostrils, cleansing their entire lungs.
Qingye took a few more breaths, savoring the different scent from the oppressive air in the tunnel, and then climbed up, cautiously looking around.
Then, to my excitement, I discovered that this was indeed outside, and in a small alley that no one frequented, as the surrounding area was overgrown with weeds.
After confirming that there was no threat, Aoba pulled her two younger brothers up with all her might.
Once they were up there, all three of them were very excited. Aoki, like a puppy that had just received a new toy, spun around excitedly, "Brother, is this the outside? This place is so nice!"
It's so much bigger than the yard! And the air smells so good, is this the smell of freedom you described, brother?
Qingzhu also looked up at the vast night sky above, and an uncontrollable madness rose in his heart. Nothing could stop him from now on...
Seeing her two younger brothers' barely concealed excitement, Qingye smiled and pulled them back, "Alright, alright, we should go out now, there are still people waiting for us!"
Hearing this, Aoki looked at him curiously, "Brother, who's waiting for us? Is it...?"
Aoba's eyes were full of joy as she looked into the distance. "Ah! It's Aunt Zhang and her group."
Listening to the brothers' conversation, a glint of light flashed quickly in Qingzhu's eyes...
