Chapter 42 Acquaintances (2/2)

Lu Yi breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that she wasn't angry. "No matter how many medicines are on the black market, there are never as many varieties as in hospitals. There are a few medicines that I didn't have on hand, so I went to the hospital to buy them."

Ye Ran then realized what was going on.

After clarifying their relationships, the four of them threw themselves into the intense preparations...

Because the egg tarts and glutinous rice cakes sold very well yesterday, and many people placed orders, Ye Ran plans to make some more today.

Following Lu Yi's suggestion, they thought they could promote their brand and not just make a few fixed types of pastries; they could make different pastries every day for a period of time.

After customers have tasted the general types and flavors, they can place orders in advance every day. This way, they can prepare snacks according to customer demand without worrying about waste, and their sales can be further increased.

So today Ye Ran is preparing to make two new desserts: coconut red bean paste rolls and peach blossom pastries.

First of all, the coconut and red bean paste rolls are relatively simple. Ye Ran mixed glutinous rice, potato starch and white sugar, added a little oil and water, stirred until there were no lumps, and then put them directly on the steamer to start steaming.

While the cakes were steaming, Ye Ran began preparing the peach blossom pastries.

First, make the oil dough. Mix all the ingredients evenly and knead until smooth and elastic. Then cover with gauze and let it rest for a while.

Next, make the oil paste by mixing the flour and lard evenly and then letting it cool in a water tank.

After finishing the preparations, Ye Ran divided the red bean paste filling that she had prepared yesterday into equal portions.

Next came the simple task of wrapping the pastries. Ye Ran demonstrated by taking a piece of oily dough, wrapping it around the flaky pastry, pinching the edges together, rolling it into a ball, and then showing it to the three people.

Lu Yi and the others were all clever and quickly got the hang of it.

Next, Ye Ran rolled the prepared dough from the middle to both ends into an oval shape, rolled the dough from top to bottom, and continued to roll it from the middle to both ends into an oval shape with a rolling pin.

After rolling it twice, take one roll, press the middle with your index finger, flip both ends upwards, flatten it with your palm, and then roll it out into a round shape with a rolling pin.

Finally, wrap the red bean paste ball inside, roll it into a round shape, flatten it with the opening facing down, and use a knife to divide it into petals evenly, being careful to leave the center of the flower.

Pinch out the petal shape with your thumb and forefinger, make a few cuts around the center, brush some egg wash in the middle and sprinkle with sesame seeds, then put it into the preheated oven.

Looking at the oven, Ye Ran circled it with admiration, "Brother Hou, I must say, the oven you repaired is absolutely perfect!"

Hou Zhiqiang chuckled smugly, "Of course! I hired the best chef to help me!"

While the peach blossom pastries were baking, Ye Ran took out the steamed glutinous rice dough, sprinkled cooked starch on the cutting board, spread the dough out, put red bean paste in the middle, and then rolled up the dough.

Ye Ran sprinkled coconut flakes on the red bean paste roll as a garnish, and the coconut red bean paste roll was finished.

By this time, the peach blossom pastries were almost ready.

As usual, Ye Ran let everyone try a few pieces, partly to test the taste, and partly because yesterday's experience told her that if she didn't eat something to fill her stomach, she might be too busy to eat later...

Ye Ran took a bite of the peach blossom pastry first. The crispness and sweetness instantly filled her mouth and tongue. Ye Ran squinted her eyes in enjoyment. Not bad! Oven-baked ones are definitely better~

The other three also looked like they were enjoying themselves, and then it was time for the busy packing process.

During a break from his busy schedule, Lu Yi came over and said, "Ranran, the desserts you made are so delicious! I should be able to eat them every day for a while now, right?"

Hearing Lu Yi's roundabout question about whether he could pick her up and drop her off every day, Ye Ran felt both sweet and a little shy. She then mumbled a reply, "Come whenever you want..."

Looking at Ye Ran's adorable appearance, Lu Yi really wanted to hug her and bite her rosy cheeks hard...

However, not yet, Lu Yi told himself, but it should be fine after a while...
