Chapter 243 Escape (2/2)

Qingzhu was trembling all over, swaying precariously. He whispered pitifully, "What should we do? Brother Qingzhu, are they...?"

Seeing his expression, Qingye gritted her teeth and said, "Don't be afraid, let's go!"

Upon hearing Qingye's words, which sounded like a do-or-die situation, Qingzhu's lips curled into a barely perceptible smile...

Just then, they heard a voice from inside, filled with shock and anger, shouting, "What happened? He's not here!"

Wu Ju exclaimed, "That's impossible! I clearly saw him when I left today."

Another female voice spoke with a cold tone, "Where did that person go? Don't forget, you promised me you would hand him over to me to deal with."

Now that the person is gone, I can't explain myself, and the consequences will be severe..."

Hearing Sanada Haruhi's icy tone, Wu Ju's muddled mind finally remembered just how ruthless this woman was. She took a few steps back in fear, then quickly gave orders.

"Quick! Go find it for me! You must find it!"

Then several voices responded, followed by the sound of rummaging through drawers and cabinets in the yard.

After confirming that no one was in the courtyard, the sound of hurried footsteps approached from inside.

The voices of these people were familiar to Qingye and the others; they were thugs hired by Wu Ju and her gang. Hearing them come out, the two of them squatted in the bushes and didn't dare to breathe.

After those people had gone far away, a short while later, an angry woman came out of the building, and Wu Ju hurriedly followed behind her.

Only after watching them walk away did the two of them breathe a sigh of relief. Qingye was covered in sweat, looking as if she had been pulled out of the water.

He touched Qingzhu's head and found it was ice-cold. A pang of pity rose in Qingye's heart. "Don't be afraid, they're gone."

"You stay here and don't move. I'm going to find Aoki now, and then we'll leave this awful place."

Qingzhu weakly bit his lower lip and agreed. A smile flashed in his eyes as he watched Qingye leave cautiously.

Qingye carefully made his way through the bushes, his body and face covered in countless cuts from the branches, but he didn't care at all.

His heart was now filled with tension and barely suppressed joy. He took out the wooden plaque Su Ji had given him and called out softly.

Soon, a response came from the other end, "Aoba, is that you?"

Qingye suppressed her excitement, "It's me! I got the things, but there's an emergency in the yard, and I have to leave immediately."

Lu Yi's calm voice came from the other end, "Okay, you must be careful. We'll come to meet you right away."

"Okay!" Qingye carefully put away the wooden sign and continued forward. Before long, she found her way into Qingmu's courtyard.

Aoba gently patted Aoki a few times, only to find that Aoki, who was usually easy to wake, was fast asleep.

He shook him hard a few more times before he could barely wake him up. Even after waking up, Aoki still looked like he might fall asleep again at any moment.

Qingye was anxious, so she grabbed the clothes and dressed him. Qingmu was like a puppet, being manipulated by Qingye.

After getting dressed, Aoki finally regained some of his senses. Looking at Aoba in front of him, he gaped in surprise, "Brother? What are you doing here?"

Qingye was anxious, but didn't say much. "Don't worry about it, just listen to me and don't say anything for now."

Aoki nodded obediently, and then followed Aoba through the crowds, soon arriving at the place where Aoba was hiding.

Just as Aoba caught his breath, his eyes widened in surprise. There was a person lying on the ground in front of him!
