The afternoon was another busy period, and after finishing up, Ye Ran's work for the past few days officially came to an end.
Meng Ran has officially taken over the company's management responsibilities.
The two walked out of the company together and saw a familiar car already parked at the entrance.
Seeing them come out, Lu Yi smiled and rolled down the car window. "Get in quickly!"
Meng Ran quickened her pace and patted Lu Yi on the shoulder, "It's been a long time!"
Lu Yi smiled broadly, "Yeah, kid, it's been so long since I've seen you, your smile is getting more and more unsettling."
Meng Ran's lips twitched twice. "What do you know? Business people need to smile more! They need to be kind! Harmony brings wealth, you know?"
Lu Yi retorted, "That smile of yours can only fool honest people who meet you for the first time. Anyone who's known you for a long time, who would think your smile is kind?"
Meng Ran rolled her eyes at him, opened the car door and got in. Ye Ran was already sitting in the passenger seat. "Should we eat at home or go out?"
Lu Yi started the car. "Let's go out to eat. Mom bought a ton of stuff again today. I don't have the energy to cook."
Since we're leaving tomorrow, Director Huang and the others suggested going out for dinner as a souvenir.
Upon hearing Director Huang's name, Meng Ran asked with interest, "I had already heard rumors about this. You actually invited Director Huang and Secretary Luo here?"
Lu Yi didn't say much about this, just hummed in response.
Seeing Lu Yi's expression, Meng Ran didn't ask any more questions. He was already somewhat aware of the fact that Lu Yi had close ties with Director Huang.
After all, among all businessmen, his grandfather was the one who pioneered cooperation with the government.
Lu Yi didn't want to talk about it, and he wouldn't ask. Some things can't be said just because you're on good terms with someone.
The group of people got into a car and soon arrived at the agreed-upon restaurant.
Looking at the seafood stall adorned with colorful lights, Meng Ran was clearly intrigued. "A place like this, with just a few strings of colorful lights, looks much more upscale."
Ye Ran got out of the car and said, "This place is only beautiful at night. It's not as beautiful during the day."
Meng Ran watched for a while longer before following Lu Yi and Ye Ran inside.
Inside, Yan Xiu'er was playing with two children, while Director Huang and a few others were also teasing them.
Upon seeing the group of people enter, they paused what they were doing and waved in their direction.
Lu Yi and Ye Ran walked over and said, "Sorry to keep you waiting."
"No, we just arrived too."
Walking behind, Meng Ran extended her hand to Director Huang, "Director Huang, Secretary Luo, it's been a long time. How have you been lately?"
Upon seeing Meng Ran, Director Huang and the others couldn't help but exclaim in surprise, "Meng... the Meng family's grandson?"
