Chapter 101 Puppy, Leopard, and Fat Tiger

Chapter 102 Puppy, Leopard, and Fat Tiger

I thoroughly enjoyed this meal of pork ribs and green beans.

The children were reluctant to leave the table, and in the end, with their bellies round and their mouths greasy, they were chased off the table by Zhang Shuzhen.

"Xiping, are you home? I've brought you a puppy."

I had just finished tidying up when I heard Liu Yuhe talking outside the gate.

Upon hearing this, Sheng Xiping immediately came out of the house. When he went outside, he saw Liu Yujiang standing outside the gate with a basket in his hand.

"Second brother, what brings you here at this hour? Have you eaten yet?"

Autumn is the busiest time for agricultural teams, especially for production teams like the Dajianchang, which grow both farmland and ginseng.

Liu Yujiang was the production team leader, and Liu Yuhe was the militia platoon leader. At this time, the two brothers were extremely busy.

That's why Sheng Xiping was so surprised when he saw Liu Yuhe.

"Ah, I've already eaten. I just finished eating at home and came over."

Isn't this the mother dog from Old Jin's family who gave birth to puppies? They just turned one month old a couple of days ago.

My dad just went to pick up the puppies this morning. After he finished eating, he sent me to bring you two.

Liu Changde had previously mentioned that several hunters in the village had female dogs that had started mating, so they brought Erlang Shen (a deity associated with the gods) over to mate with them.

The agreement was that if they had many offspring, they would receive two; if they had few, they would receive one.

Old Wu's dog had puppies a long time ago, but they haven't gone to collect them yet.

Just a few days ago, Lao Jin's puppy turned one month old, so Liu Changde took the opportunity to bring all the puppies home.

That evening, after sending his second son away, he brought two more to Sheng Xiping.

"The bigger one belongs to Old Wu's family, and the fat one with big ears belongs to Old Jin's family."

"You can trust my dad to choose the best dogs." Liu Yuhe said, handing the basket of soil to Sheng Xiping.

Sheng Xiping looked and saw two small dogs lying in the willow basket.

I guess the puppy is full and sleeping. When I touch it, it whimpers a couple of times.

"Second brother, thank you so much. Look, I even asked you to bring it over. I'll have someone send a message and I'll come and get it."

Sheng Xiping looked at the two puppies with great delight.

"Come on in and sit down. Why didn't you come sooner? We're making pork rib stew at home tonight."

Sheng Xiping, carrying a basket of soil, stepped aside to let Liu Yuhe in.

Liu Yuhe quickly waved his hand, "No, no, I'm very busy at home. I have to take people to the fields to check on the crops tonight."

Oh dear, I don't know what's wrong with this year, wild boars have suddenly started appearing everywhere.

The day before yesterday, a big basket of corn ran into the field, ruining a large patch of corn and almost killing one of the strong laborers in our village who were tending to the corn.

Tonight I'll lead a group to ambush them; we'll make sure that runaway basket is dealt with properly.

Autumn is the busiest time for the agricultural team.

The arable land in Dajianchang is several times larger than that of the forest farm's agricultural team. All the able-bodied men in the village work during the day and have to go to the fields to watch over the crops at night.

They're so busy they barely have time to eat, let alone sit down and chat.

Liu Yuhe left his house, turned a corner to deliver the dog, and then had to go to the fields to check on the crops.

"That's it for now. We'll talk about the earthen basket later. I have to go now."

After packing up this big basket, I still need to lead people up the mountain; we also need to strengthen security at the ginseng field.

As if he had just lit a fire, Liu Yuhe handed the earthen basket to Sheng Xiping and turned to leave.

"Second Brother, if you're going to chase away the basket, why don't you take Erlang Shen and the Black General away with you?"

Before Sheng Xiping could stop Liu Yuhe, he hurriedly followed and shouted.

Liu Yuhe waved his hand behind him, "No need, we've arranged more than a dozen militiamen tonight, all armed."

"With Erlang Shen and General Hei gone, it will be difficult for us to make our move." With that, Liu Yuhe quickly left.

Sheng Xiping stood outside his own gate, watching Liu Yuhe's figure disappear into the night before turning around, carrying his earthen basket, and going inside.

"Boss, why didn't you let Yuhe come in to talk?"

Sheng Liancheng found it strange that his eldest son entered the house alone, so he casually asked him a question.

"Oh, my second brother said he's too busy and doesn't have time."

Wild boars have also entered their village's farmland, running rampant and causing serious problems. They need to be checked on tonight.

Sheng Xiping explained, then called out to the west room, "Second brother, third brother, go find a burlap sack to lay on the ground."

My second brother just brought over two puppies; let's keep them inside for now.

The puppy is still too young to be kept outside, so we'll keep it indoors for now. We'll move it outside when it gets bigger.

Upon hearing that there were puppies, the three little ones in the west room rushed over, staring at the two puppies in the earthen basket and exclaiming in surprise.

"The puppies are so cute! This one looks like Erlang Shen (a deity in Chinese mythology), and it even has some spots. This one is so chubby! Look how soundly they're sleeping!"

The Sheng sisters squatted on the ground, looking at the sleeping puppy in the earthen basket with great affection.

Meanwhile, Sheng Xi'an and Sheng Xikang quickly went to the warehouse and found two tattered burlap sacks, which they spread on the ground.

Then Sheng Xiping took the two puppies out of the earthen basket and put them on the burlap sack.

The two puppies seemed to realize that it was more comfortable to climb on the sack, so they snuggled together and continued to sleep.

"Big brother, have you named these two puppies yet?" Sheng Xitai couldn't resist stepping forward and reaching out to pet the two chubby puppies.

"No, you guys can help me come up with one." Sheng Xiping shook his head.

The puppy just arrived home, how could it have a name yet?

Sheng Xiping is no longer at the age where he could rack his brains to name his dog, and he's not very interested in those things anymore.
