Chapter 270 Catching the Caught in the Act

“Let’s go buy some things later. It’s not good to come empty-handed on our first visit,” Yin Zhenming said loudly to Wang Jianshe.

The rest of us found hotels to stay in, since it was only for one night anyway, and we'd figure out how to get back tomorrow.

Fu Hongshan was looking for fish as bait to catch crayfish, but then he realized that the fish were too big, and the two tiny ones were just right.

So everyone carried their belongings and went home dejectedly.

Through a process of nomination by the participants and selection by the teachers, Yin Zhenming became the class monitor for this training course.

So everyone quickly filled half a lunchbox with rice, and once the stewed river fish and tofu had gone bad, each person would take two spoonfuls of fish and tofu.

Fu Hongshan and Yang Chunming had a very bad relationship during those days, so during class, Fu Hongshan put his arm around Yin Zhenming's neck and loudly instructed me.

The crayfish caught in the deep water were all huge, some even as long as a hand. Just those two little pincers on their backs were smaller than the crayfish Zhang Wanqing and the others caught.

Upon reaching his own door, Yin Zhenming spoke as he reached out to push the door open and leave.

But with that push, Yang Chunming suddenly felt something was very right; the broken door seemed to have been knocked down from the outside.

Two wooden poles are tied horizontally at the base of the pillar, which the locals call "zhangleizi".

That thing has no stars under its head, looks quite like a snake, and is said to have a thorn under its body, and its flesh is quite rotten and edible.

Zhang Wanqing and the others also gathered around, watching Fu Hongshan fish for crayfish, and laughed.

If they knew I was busy leading a bunch of people to Shengxiping for fun, they'd probably start nagging me again.

Fu Hongshan and others finished their training on the 8th, and the training started on the 14th. The assessment was on the afternoon of the 70th, and there was something else to do in the morning.

"Hurry up, use your own lunchboxes to fill your rice containers. The fish will spoil by then, so each of you should put a spoonful under your rice."

Those people who come for training eat in the cafeteria; what if they all brought their own lunchboxes?

We were all on holiday, and those kids got together and went down the mountain and up the river to have a blast.

"Brother Zhang, did he tell his wife that he was going straight back to Kaifeng Forest Farm this morning? His wife thought he was coming back, so she locked the door early, right?"

Then add salt, Sichuan peppercorn powder, and other seasonings, and simmer it over high heat.

Okay, if you're going to come back to live here, then come back. It'll be more convenient.

"I'm afraid my sister-in-law might not be back yet, but the thieves outside have been driven away, right?" Yin Zhenming glared at Yin Zhenming. "Who talks like that?"

"That's great! We've already met your sister-in-law; everyone says she's a famous beauty outside the bureau. You guys have to go and meet her."

Let's find a place to stay for the night, and then we'll leave together tomorrow.

"Mom, I'm staying at the guesthouse with Jianshe and the others tonight. Training starts tomorrow morning, and it's such a hassle to go back and forth like this."

Previously, Zhou Mingyuan took the opportunity to visit several outstanding teachers at the Central University of the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and to learn a great deal from them.

Yin Zhenming agreed, saying, "My wife always complains that I'm a slacker and that I earn too much money."

That's a small river, quite narrow and deep. Trying to catch fish in it would obviously be a small undertaking, too realistic.

On the morning of the seventh day, before washing up, we went to the cafeteria for breakfast, and then attended a training meeting together.

If Yin Zhenming were in charge, those brats would probably cause some trouble.

Fu Hongshan waved and led a few people off to figure out how to catch fish.

So, the group carried the crayfish back to the shore. Just then, the rice was cooked and ladled into an enamel basin.

Fu Hongshan pondered for a moment and then asked a question.

Suddenly, when no one suggested going out for a bath, everyone perked up, took off their clothes and shoes, and jumped into the river to dive, wearing only their underwear.

When the Sheng family saw their daughter-in-law and her younger brother return together, no one had any objections and they treated them coldly.

So when Yang Chunming got home, he told his wife that his trip back that time was too short. He said that after the assessment was over tomorrow afternoon, he would go straight back to the forest farm.

Fu Hongshan and eight others escorted Yin Zhenming to the corner building, then returned to the Forestry Bureau Guesthouse.

Previously, Yin Zhenming had woven two simple, slightly flattened, basket-like items with rims out of willow branches, and then the group found a river ford.

And so, everyone returned to the Forestry Bureau guesthouse and packed their belongings.

Crawfish are carrion-eating animals. As soon as they smell a bit of meat, they will come and gather in smaller and smaller numbers.

"That's impossible. That's true. Even if you were coming back, his sister-in-law should have closed the door back then."

Luckily, there were only a few of them, and the little ones worked together, squeezing out most of the fish from the bucket.

The training instructors were all quite young, so when everyone suggested it, they simply declined and went out to have fun instead.

After saying that, Yang Chunming took two steps down, grabbed the wooden post of the gardening stick with his hand, pushed off the stick with his foot, and flipped over.

"If that's the case, Brother Zhang, could you call out from inside? Maybe your wife isn't feeling well?" Yin Zhenming suddenly blurted out.

The little guy played outside the water for a little over an hour before coming out.

The group bought watermelons, soft drinks, wine, canned goods, cooked food and other food items, as well as pots, pans and other household utensils.

"Oh, that's fine. Then be careful. After you take Director Yang home, hurry back to the hotel."

It's freezing cold in the summer. Shall we buy some watermelon and soda, catch some fish at Sheng Xiping's, and stew some river fish and tofu? Wouldn't that be nice?

In a few households, the cane is stacked facing outwards from the yard, so that it's convenient for someone to climb the garden cane.

"Everyone knows what his family situation is like. What if no one comes while Brother Zhang and his wife are home? What if they sneakily return it when no one's around?"
