Chapter 367 Urging Marriage

Even a donkey cart is faster than walking, and before long, the group arrived at the Zhou family's house in Baishan Street.

"Dad, Mom, my sister and brother-in-law are here."

Zhou Qingyue was the first to jump out of the car, grabbing two packages and running into the yard, shouting as she ran.

Inside the house, Zhou Mingyuan and Wang Chunxiu were anxious. As soon as they heard that their daughter and son-in-law had arrived, the couple rushed out of the house.

"Oh, we've finally arrived! I've been waiting all morning. Hurry up, let me see my grandson."

At this moment, Sheng Xiping and Zhou Qinglan had just gotten out of the car. Upon seeing his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sheng Xiping quickly greeted them.

"Happy Chinese New Year, Dad and Mom."

"Okay, okay, all good. Hurry up, let me hold my grandson."

Wang Chunxiu was in no mood for idle chatter at this moment. She quickly reached out and took Sheng Xinhua from her.

Strangely enough, Sheng Xinhua didn't seek out Zhou Qingyang, but he was quite friendly with Wang Chunxiu. Not only was he not afraid, he even smiled at Wang Chunxiu.

"Son, this is Grandma, and that's Grandpa. Hurry up and greet them."

Zhou Qinglan reached down and tugged at her son's scarf, teaching him to greet people.

"The wind is howling outside, what's all the fuss about? Come on, let's go inside and talk inside."

Before Sheng Xinhua could speak, Wang Chunxiu glared at her daughter, picked up the child, and quickly walked into the yard.

"Xiping, Qinglan, come on, let's go inside." Zhou Mingyuan saw his wife hurriedly leaving with their grandson and quickly called to his son-in-law and daughter.

"Your mom has been looking forward to it all morning. She's prepared lots of good food at home, just waiting for you to come back."

Sheng Xiping helped Zhou Qinglan, while Zhou Mingyuan and his two sons carried the things, and the group went into the house.

At this moment, Wang Chunxiu had already carried her grandson onto the kang (a heated brick bed), and took off the child's coat and shoes, hat and scarf.

"Xinhua, do you need to pee? Grandma will take you to pee."

"Hmm." Sheng Xinhua had urinated before leaving the Sheng family home, but he slept in the car and didn't have a chance to urinate after getting off.

It's quite impressive that the child can hold his pee for such a long distance.

Upon hearing this, Wang Chunxiu hurriedly took off Sheng Xinhua's thick cotton-padded trousers, threw them on the kang (a heated brick bed), and carried Sheng Xinhua to the outer room to urinate.

Fortunately, Sheng Xinhua was wearing open-crotch cotton pants under his thick cotton pants, so he didn't have to take them off and could urinate directly.

After holding it in all the way, the little guy finally finished urinating. Wang Chunxiu didn't let her daughter hold the baby; instead, she took her grandson into the house herself.

"The little guy is really something, he didn't wet his pants even though he traveled such a long way."

Wang Chunxiu carried her grandson onto the kang (a heated brick bed) and kissed him several times affectionately.

Sheng Xinhua wasn't annoyed; he just chuckled.

"All you do is laugh, hurry up and greet them. This is Grandma, this is Grandpa." Zhou Qinglan pointed to her parents and taught Sheng Xinhua to greet them.

"Brain, Brain Grandpa."

Sheng Xinhua, who just turned one year old, doesn't have very standard pronunciation yet. He can't pronounce anything clearly except for "dad," "mom," "grandpa," and "grandma."

For example, we call our aunt "Dudu" and our uncle "Zhuzhu". Now, our maternal grandmother has become "Naonao" and our maternal grandfather has become "Naoye".

"Oh, my grandson is so clever, he can call me Grandma and Grandpa now." It doesn't matter how he calls me, as long as he means it.

Zhou Mingyuan and his wife were overjoyed and quickly took out red envelopes to give to Sheng Xinhua.

"Here, this is my New Year's money for my eldest grandson. I wish him good health and peace."

Upon seeing the red envelope, Sheng Xinhua's eyes widened immediately, and he tightly hugged it to his chest.

This action amused everyone in the room. "Oh my, look at this! Even such a young child knows that New Year's money is a good thing."

"Xinhua, you received red envelopes from your grandparents, shouldn't you thank them?"

"How do you thank them again? Dad taught you before, say thank you to Grandma and Grandpa." Sheng Xiping teased his son on purpose.

Upon hearing his father's words, Sheng Xinhua's eyes lit up. He quickly raised his two chubby little hands, clasped them together, and then bowed twice to Zhou Mingyuan and his wife.

This is a new skill that Sheng Xinhua learned during the Chinese New Year. When others give him delicious food or fun toys, he follows his father's instructions and clasps his hands in a gesture of greeting.

Sheng Xinhua is chubby and very cute. Coupled with his adorable clumsy movements, he completely charmed everyone, causing them to burst into laughter again.

"Oh, it's so good that everyone's back, it's lively."

"Normally, your mother is busy with hospital matters and rarely comes home. My third brother and I don't talk much, so this house feels empty," Zhou Mingyuan couldn't help but sigh.

"Having more children is like having many more people in the family; it suddenly becomes lively."

As Zhou Mingyuan said this, his gaze couldn't help but drift towards his eldest son beside him, his words implying a hint of urging him to get married.

Zhou Qingyang is two years older than Sheng Xiping, he's 25 this year, and he's been in the army for six years, but he still doesn't have a girlfriend.

Whenever Zhou Mingyuan and his wife bring up this matter, they sigh deeply, wondering when they will ever be able to hold their grandson.

While others might not understand the hidden meaning in Zhou Mingyuan's words, how could Zhou Qingyang not understand it?

Ever since he entered the family, his parents have been subtly inquiring about him, using other people as examples to subtly suggest that he should get married and have children as soon as possible.

Zhou Qingyang understood his parents' thoughts, and he felt helpless about it.

He's in the military, spending all his time with a bunch of rough men. Where is he supposed to find a girlfriend? Isn't that making things difficult for him?

"The way you said that makes people think you're complaining that your daughter doesn't come home often enough."

Don't you know what's wrong with our daughter? She's traveled such a long way; can her body handle it?
