Chapter 370 The Fisherman Benefits

Zhou Qingyang's place in the army was quite far away. He needed to take the 8:40 bus from Songjianghe to Shenyang, then transfer to another bus to the capital, and then take another bus south from the capital.

When the Zhou brothers arrived at the station, it was not yet eight o'clock.

The two quickly went to the ticket office and bought tickets to Shenyang, then sat in the waiting room waiting to have their tickets checked and board the train.

Unexpectedly, not long after he sat down, Zhou Qingyang heard someone calling him. He looked up and saw Chen Jie waving at him.

"Chen Jie?" Zhou Qingyang was stunned for a moment, then quickly stood up and walked towards Chen Jie, who also ran towards Zhou Qingyang.

"Why are you here?" Zhou Qingyang's mood immediately improved when he saw Chen Jie, and his eyebrows and eyes were full of smiles.

"Didn't you say yesterday afternoon that you were leaving today? I came to see you off."

Chen Jie approached Zhou Qingyang. Whether it was from the cold outside or from running in, Chen Jie's face was flushed, and she looked at Zhou Qingyang with bright eyes.

"Here are some food items: tea eggs, bread, fried dough twists, and canned meat. Keep them for your journey."

As Chen Jie spoke, she handed the bag in her hand to Zhou Qingyang.

As Zhou Qingyang took the heavy bag, he felt a warm and sweet feeling in his heart.

"Thank you, Chen Jie. I'm so sorry, I only stayed for a short time this time."

Zhou Qingyang felt something stuck in his throat and didn't know what to say.

From the day he put on this uniform, Zhou Qingyang knew the responsibility and mission on his shoulders.

Despite being stationed far from home and only being able to return once every three years, Zhou Qingyang never complained.

But at this moment, I can't help but feel that it would be better if I lived closer to home, so that I wouldn't waste most of my time visiting relatives on the road.

He will then have more time to see Chen Jie more often.

"It's okay, next time you come back, just take a few more days off." Chen Jie smiled as soon as she heard that.

Chen Jie didn't say much; given their current relationship, saying too much would seem too unreserved.

They had only met a few times formally, and even though Chen Jie had long liked Zhou Qingyang, it wasn't appropriate to reveal too much at this point.

"Okay, I'll definitely ask for a few more days off next time." Zhou Qingyang looked at Chen Jie's smiling face and couldn't help but smile as well.

The two stood facing each other, looking at each other, seemingly with a thousand words in their hearts, yet neither of them spoke.

Meanwhile, Zhou Qingyue and Chen Jie's younger sister Chen Yu were getting really anxious, scratching their heads and cheeks in frustration.

With their tickets about to be checked and boarding the train imminent, the two of them should at least have something to say to each other. They don't know how long they'll be separated after this, so don't they have anything heart-to-heart talk to share?

"Sister Chen, um, do you know my brother's mailing address?" Zhou Qingyue couldn't hold back any longer and simply asked.

Sister Chen and Zhou Qingyang were both taken aback. Only then did they realize that they hadn't mentioned the address at all during their casual conversations these past two days.

The key issue is that Chen Jie is a young woman, so it wouldn't be appropriate for her to take the initiative and ask Zhou Qingyang for his mailing address, would it?

Zhou Qingyang thought that Wang Chunxiu had the address, but knowing his mother's temper, she probably gave it to Chen Jie as soon as he left, so he didn't say anything.

When Zhou Qingyue said that, Zhou Qingyang also realized that his mother giving him the address and him giving it to him personally were completely different things.

So Zhou Qingyang quickly took out a red plastic work log from his military uniform pocket, and then took out a pen and quickly wrote down two lines.

"Hey, this is my mailing address. You can write to me if you have time."

I often have to go on missions, so I might not be able to reply to emails as promptly.

If I have time, I will definitely write to you and send it to your hospital.

Zhou Qingyang tore that page out and solemnly handed it to Chen Jie.

Chen Jie took the paper, glanced at it, and nodded emphatically.

"Okay, I've got your address. I'll write to you later."

As she spoke, Chen Jie shoved the paper into the pocket inside her cotton-padded jacket.

"Be careful on your way back. When you arrive, remember to write back to let me know you're safe."

Chen Jie deliberately spoke vaguely, not saying who it was for, but the implication was clear: she hoped Zhou Qingyang would write it for her.

“Okay, I’ll write back as soon as I get to the post.” Zhou Qingyang nodded.

Since they had only known each other for a short time, there were some things they found difficult to say, so after those few words, they fell silent again.

Zhou Qingyue was extremely anxious watching from the side, so anxious that he was jumping up and down, but there was nothing he could do.

Just then, an announcement came over the loudspeaker: passengers going to Shenyang, please check in.

Zhou Qingyue rolled her eyes helplessly, picked up her brother's luggage, and said, "Brother, it's time to check tickets. Let's go, I'll take you to the station."

Zhou Qingyang glanced at Chen Jie, sighed, and said, "Then I'm leaving. I'll write to you later." His tone was full of reluctance.

Seeing this, Chen Jie and Chen Yu decided to follow them to the ticket gate.

Songjianghe Railway Station isn't a big station, and the management isn't that strict. Chen Jie and the others said they were seeing someone off, and the ticket inspector didn't say anything and let them through.

The group arrived at the platform and chatted while waiting for the train. At 8:40, the train arrived on time.

Zhou Qingyang slung a large backpack over his shoulder, carried two bags in his hands, boarded the bus with the flow of people, found a seat by the window, and looked out the window.

On the platform, the staff blew a horn, the carriage doors closed, the train sounded its whistle, and then slowly started moving.

As the train moved forward, Zhou Qingyang saw Zhou Qingyue, Chen Jie, and a few others, and quickly waved to them.

Chen Jie and the others also saw Zhou Qingyang in the car, and waved as they ran forward with the train.
