Chapter 463 The Little Tiger Cub is Afraid of Firecrackers

Chapter 463 The Little Tiger Cub is Afraid of Firecrackers

Wang Jiansheng and the others initially thought that Xiao Shitou had probably just had a few words with his younger brother and was in a bad mood, so he went out to clear his head.

But upon hearing Sheng Xiping's words, the faces of the group turned deathly pale. "No, that can't be, can it?"

Although they said that, everyone was starting to panic.

Little Stone is stubborn and has been provoked; it's hard to say what he might do.

"Let's try to find it first. If we really can't find it, I'll drive you to Songjianghe and Fusong to look for it."

It's not so bad that he went out for a walk to clear his head; we can always find him sooner or later. But if he were to commit suicide, that would be a real problem.

Sheng Xiping wasn't entirely confident either; he was just trying his best.

"Okay, you guys go home first and change into your mountain clothes, then we'll meet in front of our department and search around first."

The snow in the mountains is up to your thighs; you have to change your clothes before you can go into the mountains.

Everyone nodded solemnly and then went home to change their clothes.

Sheng Xiping also turned around and went into the house, where he told his family about Xiao Shitou.

"What a tragedy! It's the New Year, and if something happens to Little Stone, how will the He family survive?" Zhang Shuzhen shook her head after hearing this.

"Never mind those things for now, hurry up and get some food for the two kids so they can have something to eat, otherwise how will they get into the mountains?"

And the dog food, is it ready? Hurry up and feed the dog!

Sheng Liancheng was also worried about Xiao Shitou, but he was more concerned about his own children and dog.

Breakfast is ready. I fried the leftover dumplings from last night and also made some corn porridge.

The dog ate from another pot of stew, which was getting cold.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Shuzhen quickly ladled out two bowls of porridge and picked up a large plate of fried dumplings.

Sheng Xiping and Sheng Xi'an both changed into their mountain gear: thick cotton-padded coats and trousers, big cotton-padded shoes, and felt socks inside the shoes.

The felt socks were high-waisted, which was perfect for wrapping with leggings.

In winter, leg wraps cannot be tied directly outside cotton pants, as that would be too thick and stiff, making it impossible to bend the legs. Therefore, they must be tied inside.

The two brothers dressed themselves properly, then devoured two large plates of dumplings and drank a bowl of porridge in no time.

Just as the dogs had finished eating, the two men, carrying their guns and leading the dogs, headed outside.

Despite their advanced age, the leopards perked up at the sight of their owner's attire, shaking their fur vigorously and running outside with light steps.

The Sheng brothers, each leading two dogs, had just stepped out of their house when they heard a soft growl behind them. Turning around, they saw that it was Hua Hua who had followed them out.

"Huahua, we're looking for someone, not hunting. Don't go out and scare others," Sheng Xiping hurriedly said.

Hua Hua didn't care about any of that and insisted on following Sheng Xiping. Sheng Xiping had no choice but to lead Hua Hua.

The two men, four dogs, and one tiger arrived at the venue, where Wang Jianshe, Chen Weiguo, and others were already waiting.

"Why are you all here?" Sheng Xiping asked, surprised.

“Many hands make light work, we’re here to help.” Wang Jianshe and the others heard that Sheng Xiping was going to lead a team into the mountains to find someone, and they were worried, so they all came along.

“Okay, let’s do it together.” Sheng Xiping nodded and didn’t say anything more.

Many people in the forest knew about the tiger in the Sheng family's territory, and over time they got used to it. When they saw Hua Hua, they were afraid, but not so scared that they would run away.

And so, the group, with the dog and the tiger, went to the He family's house first, and found out Little Stone's clothes and the bedding he had slept in, letting the dogs smell them.

Then, the group took the dog for a walk around the forest.

As they turned to the north side of the forest, the leopard called out towards a narrow path.

Upon seeing that the path led towards the back of the mountain, everyone felt a sense of foreboding.

At this moment, Hua Hua darted out without a word and disappeared in a few leaps.

"Let's go, let's follow the footprints and see what's there." Sheng Xiping's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately led the dog forward.

It's called a path, but it's really just a trail of snow that people made when they went to the back of the mountain to collect firewood.

The group then walked along the path toward the back of the mountain. As they walked, the footprints ahead became messy, indicating that they were going in all directions.

The leopard lowered its head to sniff, then raised its head to sniff again, and then followed one of the footprints towards the northwest.

The group followed the leopard, walking along the footprints into the mountains. After walking about five or six miles, they suddenly heard a tiger's roar in the distance.

"Quick, let's go take a look."

Upon hearing the commotion, Sheng Xiping knew it was Hua Hua and immediately led the way, running forward. The leopard and its dogs also took off running.

Although the others were terrified by the tiger's roar, seeing Sheng Xiping's actions, they did not dare to back down, so they followed behind Sheng Xiping and ran away into the distance.

Sheng Xiping and his brother ran for two or three miles when they saw a figure rushing towards them at an extremely fast speed. Needless to say, it was Hua Hua.

Hua Hua came up to Sheng Xiping, first nuzzled him with her head, then nibbled on his clothes, signaling him to move forward.

Sheng Xinping's heart skipped a beat, and he followed Hua Hua forward. The group walked for less than two miles when Leopard, Fat Tiger, and several other dogs started barking wildly at a large pine tree in front of them.

"There's something strange about that tree ahead. Let's approach it slowly and not rush."

Sheng Xiping waved his hand, reminding everyone to be mentally prepared, and then slowly stepped forward.

The pine tree was so thick that it would probably take two people to hug it. After going around the back of the tree, right at its roots, a person was curled up.

When everyone went forward to take a look, it was indeed Little Stone.
