Chapter 462 Sheng Xi'an also has a boyfriend

Upon hearing this, the whole family stared wide-eyed at Sheng Xi'an. "Really? Second brother, you really have a girlfriend?"

Sheng Liancheng was smoking when he got so excited that he coughed twice from the smoke, quickly put out his cigarette, and asked loudly, "Where is your girlfriend from? How old is she?"

"Right, right, second brother, where is your girlfriend from? How old is she? Is she studying or working?"

Zhang Shuzhen was overjoyed. She had been eagerly anticipating this day and night, and finally, her second son had found a partner.

"Her home is in Harbin. She is my mentor's daughter. She just graduated from university this year and now works at a TV station."

Sheng Xi'an didn't want to tell his family so soon, but he didn't expect that he was so careless that his family would see through his act less than ten minutes after he entered the house.

There was no other way but to tell the whole story.

"Oh." Sheng Yunfang, Sheng Xitai, and the others deliberately drew out their "oh."

Sheng Liancheng and Zhang Shuzhen also laughed.

The professor's daughter, a recent college graduate starting her career, plus the sweater Sheng Xi'an was wearing—what more can be said? The girl has definitely liked Sheng Xi'an for quite some time.

Sheng Xi'an became even more embarrassed by her younger siblings' "oh".

"We've only been dating for a short time; my senior sister introduced us."

These words made everyone laugh. "It doesn't matter how long you've been together, as long as you have a good relationship."

Well, after the New Year, I'll go with our parents to Harbin to finalize your marriage.

"It would be best to discuss it with the woman. You and Lao San can hold your wedding together next June," Sheng Xiping said seriously after he finished laughing.

"ah?"

Sheng Xi'an was stunned. Weren't they just talking about their boyfriends? How did they suddenly get onto the topic of engagement and marriage in just a few words?

"Brother, isn't this too fast? I won't have graduated by next June."

"No, no, your older brother is right."

I was worried because you're not married yet, but the third son is already getting married, which messes up the order of things.

Now that you have someone, hurry up and settle down so you can have a wedding together.

Don't you even know how old you are? After the 27th of the lunar year, how many of your classmates and friends are still unmarried?

Zhang Shuzhen has been thinking about her second son's marriage all the time. Now that her son has finally found a girlfriend, why not hurry up and get married?

People of Sheng Liancheng's and Zhang Shuzhen's generation often valued the order of seniority.

In the past, if the older brother wasn't married, the younger brother couldn't possibly skip over him.

Sheng Xi'an's situation is special; everyone thought he would only be able to find a partner after graduation and starting work, through introductions from others.

On the other hand, Sheng Xikang is getting on in years and can't afford to be delayed.

Following the principle of getting married to whomever they could get married first, Sheng Liancheng and his wife started arranging their third son's wedding.

Now that I know the second son has a girlfriend, he should definitely get married first. If all else fails, both sons can get married together.

"This is too sudden, Mom. I can't make this decision on my own. I'll call Shuyan tomorrow and ask her opinion."

Marriage is a matter for two people; it can't be a one-sided affair with Sheng Xi'an. Feng Shuyan's opinion must be sought first.

"Yes, yes, we should ask the girl and her family for their opinions."

Zhang Shuzhen was so excited and overjoyed when she suddenly learned that her second son had a girlfriend. Now she has finally calmed down and realized that they were being too hasty.

"Dad, Mom, regardless of whether the Feng family agrees to the wedding next June, we still have to go to Harbin after the New Year."

"We need to let the woman see our sincerity and know that we value this marriage," Sheng Xiping reminded his parents.

Whether the marriage will go through depends on Sheng Xi'an's feelings for the girl, and also on the attitude of the Sheng family.

“Okay, then let’s go to Harbin together after the New Year when the second child returns to school.” Sheng Liancheng nodded without hesitation.

"Your mother and I have never been to Harbin before. We'll take this opportunity to go and have a look around."

When I was young, going from my hometown to Northeast China felt like a long journey, a chance to broaden my horizons. Back then, going to the provincial capital for a conference was amazing; everything was new and exciting.

"I never imagined that, now that I'm old, I've been to the capital, watched the flag-raising ceremony, and now I'm going to Harbin," Sheng Liancheng said with deep emotion.

“Dad, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to go out in the future. After the fourth and fifth sons graduate and get their jobs, they might even be able to travel around Shanghai and Guangzhou,” Sheng Xiping said with a smile.

After graduation, Sheng Yunfang and Sheng Yunfei will most likely stay in the local area; they are unlikely to return here.

At that time, Sheng Liancheng and his wife might be able to go and take a look.

"If that's the case, Dad, you and Mom didn't have enough children."

"If we have a few more children, we can travel all over the world. Then you and Mom can go on a trip and visit different places," Sheng Xiping said jokingly.

"Oh my god, raising you all is enough, why are you having more? Do you want to kill your mother?" Zhang Shuzhen glared at her son, then laughed.

Upon hearing this, everyone burst into laughter.

Amidst laughter and conversation, the dumplings were all wrapped. Since it was getting late, we quickly boiled water to cook them.

As usual, when the dumplings were being cooked, Sheng Liancheng led the children outside to set off a string of firecrackers.

The Little New Year is not as lively as Lunar New Year's Eve. A string of 500 firecrackers is just a token gesture and that's it.

After setting off the firecrackers, we went back inside to prepare dumplings.

Today I made two kinds of fillings: celery and eleutherococcus senticosus, both of which are wild vegetables from the mountains.

Zhang Shuzhen felt that the children, who were away from home all year round, must miss the food at home, especially the wild vegetables, which were only available during the season.
