Chapter 479 Flower Kills Leopard
"Big brother, second brother, it shouldn't be a tiger cub."
The three of them came home with Hua Hua before 10 p.m. last night and haven't gone out since. There couldn't possibly be any other tiger cubs around here.
Upon seeing this, Sheng Xiping quickly reached out and rubbed Hua Hua's head, explaining to Liu Yujiang and the others.
For dozens of miles around, this has always been Hua Hua's territory. Under normal circumstances, it is unlikely that other tigers, especially tiger cubs, would come here.
"And when they came back, they brought a pig and a roe deer with them."
When the four tigers returned home, they were clearly full, making it unlikely that they would go back to the farm and cause trouble again.
Another point is that the farm's keepers must go around all the pens at midnight every night to check that everything is normal before they can rest.
If the three tiger cubs went and killed the deer before returning to the Sheng family, the zookeeper would have definitely discovered it in the middle of the night, unless the zookeeper was negligent.
"Oh dear, your tiger is really becoming a spirit. Is it upset that I wronged its cubs?"
Liu Yujiang chuckled upon hearing this, immediately understanding why Hua Hua was yelling at him.
"Okay, let's go together then."
Felines are powerful animals, and they are all masters of surprise attacks. No one knows where that leopard is hiding right now.
"Mom, it's okay. I'll go check what's going on. Once I find out what's causing trouble at the farm, I'll kill it and that'll be the end of it."
Yes, if you wrong someone's child, it certainly won't be polite.
The three of them came out of the farm and went around to the back. Sure enough, they saw several round footprints on the snow, which were two sizes smaller than Huahua's footprints.
"Leopard," the three brothers said in unison.
Sheng Liancheng and his wife had already understood what was going on, and now they couldn't help but ask a few questions out of concern.
To track wild animals, you definitely can't wear leather shoes; you have to wear the big cotton shoes issued by the forest farm, with high-waisted felt socks underneath.
"Big brother, second brother, let's go take a look." Sheng Xiping dressed properly, put on his cotton hat, and walked out with the Liu brothers.
The three brothers had hunted leopards before. These creatures are agile and have strong jumping ability, so they often hide in trees.
Even before getting close, a strong smell of blood could be smelled, indicating that the incident must have happened in the middle of the night.
When Zhang Shuzhen heard that several deer had died, she was heartbroken, as her son had invested money in them.
The two Liu brothers followed Sheng Xiping into the house with embarrassed expressions and greeted Sheng Liancheng and his wife.
Hua Hua glanced at the Liu brothers, turned and went into the house. The three tiger cubs followed their mother into the house, making way for her at the doorway.
"Oh dear, that place is too close to the back mountain. There are many wild animals there, including lynxes. Look, they've ruined our perfectly good deer."
The three followed the footprints in the snow for more than three miles. Ahead was an untouched forest with many thick, large trees.
Sheng Xiping patted Hua Hua's big head, then strode out the door toward the breeding farm on the back mountain, with Hua Hua following closely behind.
"What? You want to come with me? Are you worried that someone might wrong your child, so you're going to see if they can prove their innocence?" Sheng Xiping said with a forced smile.
The group was filled with apprehension, having heard that each breeding deer had cost a considerable sum.
Once prey passes by, it will swoop down from high above and kill it in one fell swoop.
Sheng Xiping had put on felt socks and cotton shoes, put on leggings, and put on the thick cotton-padded coat he used to wear when going up the mountain. He then took his gun from the wall.
“There are animal footprints on the path leading from the farm to the back of the mountain,” Liu Yujiang reminded him.
Upon seeing this, Sheng Xiping and the others hurriedly followed the footprints.
Upon seeing Sheng Xiping's attire, Hua Hua immediately got up from the ground and followed him out the door.
There were still traces of blood in the snow, probably left by the guy carrying the dead deer.
As the old saying goes, even with a fortune, nothing counts except for animals.
Five or six died at once, and one is missing. If they are asked to pay compensation, their entire year's salary won't be enough to cover the losses.
"President Sheng, we patrolled last night and didn't find anything unusual, so we went to rest. Who would have thought that wild animals would get in at some point and kill several deer."
Sheng Xiping was about to walk the dog when he turned around and saw Huahua.
Upon arriving at the farm, we saw that all the farm's hired feeders had long faces.
The zookeeper woke up in the morning and found something was wrong. He went in and dragged out the dead deer, so the scene had been disturbed and there were almost no intact animal tracks.
When Sheng Xiping initially invested money in setting up the breeding farm, Zhang Shuzhen tried to stop him, feeling it was unreliable. Now, it seems things have indeed gone wrong.
Upon reaching this point, the footprints on the ground disappeared, but upon closer inspection, one could occasionally see a few drops of bright red blood in the snow.
Hua Hua snuggled up to Sheng Xiping, rubbed her head against him, and purred softly.
"Big brother, second brother, please come in and sit for a while. I'll change my shoes."
Hua Hua let out two low growls, leaped into the air, and disappeared in a few bounds.
Sheng Xiping reached out and patted Hua Hua's head. "Alright, that's all for you. Go back inside and lie down. I'm going to check on the situation at the farm."
"We'll talk about that later. Take me to see the scene first," Sheng Xiping sighed, without saying anything else.
When the three tiger cubs saw their mother walking out, they wanted to follow, but Hua Hua glanced back at them and the three tiger cubs obediently went back inside.
The group seemed relieved and quickly led Sheng Xiping toward the enclosure where the incident had occurred.
The pen was covered in blood, along with messy hoof and footprints.
So the three brothers picked up their guns, remaining vigilant at all times, and continued their pursuit along the scattered bloodstains on the snow and the large claw marks left by Hua Hua.
