Chapter 493 The Era of Exorbitant Profits

The Russians have good cars. If we could get a dozen or so GAZ trucks, that would be perfect for the timber processing plant.

As for the Lada sedan, I believe there are plenty of people in China who would like to buy it.

Andrei paused for a moment after hearing the translator's words, "Well, I need to go back and contact them."

GAZ cars should be available, but I doubt we can get new Ladas, as there are quotas here too. However, I estimate we can get about the same number of existing ones.

I can have it repaired at a repair shop and get some spare parts. Comrade Sheng, is that alright?

Sure, that's great! Anyway, there are so many supplies stored in the warehouse. No matter what we exchange for, it's a profit.

If we can't get new Lada cars, we can get a few old ones for Chen Weiguo and the others to drive.

And so, the two parties reached a consensus, without needing to sign any contract; a verbal agreement was sufficient.

Afterwards, Sheng Xiping gestured to Pan Desheng and the others to move two cases of wine, half a case of red sausage, and half a case of canned goods as a gift for Andrei and his group.

Andrei and his companions were overjoyed when they saw this. Before leaving, Andrei gave Sheng Xiping a big hug.

"Oh, Sheng, we're best friends. Wait for me to get back and I'll send you an invitation to visit."

With the biggest deal secured, Sheng Xiping breathed a sigh of relief. After watching Andrei and the others leave, he stood aside and watched Pan Desheng and his team busily selling their goods.

On the first day of trade, no one knew what was going on, so they didn't bring much.

Before afternoon, most of the things they brought had been exchanged. So, everyone carried their belongings back home.

They carried everything on their backs when they came, but when they left, they had several times more stuff than when they came.

Sheng Xiping and his group of about twenty people, carrying loads as big as small mountains on their backs, struggled to get off the island, their faces flushed and their backs sticking out.

It's much easier once you're on the river; you can put your things on the ice and push them along.

As soon as I arrived at the riverbank, a large crowd swarmed around me.

These are all merchants who don't have the money to pay the deposit, so they can only wait by the river and act as middlemen.

"Brother, are you selling these goods? Why don't you sell them to us so you don't have to carry them back?" someone asked loudly as they approached.

"Wait a minute, don't rush. Our warehouse is nearby. Let's go there first. We can't block the way here; someone will be coming back later."

We can't just sell goods by the river, so Sheng Xiping shouted to remind his brothers.

Upon hearing that there was a chance, the middlemen immediately came forward to help carry the goods to the other end of the warehouse.
