Zhou Qinglan is teaching the second year of high school, and they will soon be going into the third year. Since the students are attending classes during the holidays, Zhou Qinglan cannot take too long a leave of absence.
So on Tuesday morning, Sheng Xiping drove Zhou Qinglan back to Songjianghe.
Afterwards, Sheng Xiping called Wu Bingzhong and asked him to help inquire about the Siberian Tiger Park.
It is said that there is no precedent for privately run Siberian tiger parks in China, and the higher authorities have held several meetings to discuss it, but no conclusion has been reached.
Wu Bingzhong told Sheng Xiping to wait a little longer, and that he and Old Yang would try to urge him again.
Sheng Xiping wasn't in a hurry, so he waited patiently.
Before we knew it, more than half of August had passed, and school was about to start. Sheng Xinhua and his three siblings returned from Qianchuan Forest Farm.
Sheng Xiping had also taken care of the transfers for the Liu family boys, and they all came to Songjianghe together.
Liu Yuhe's wife and Qin Qiuyan moved into the newly bought house of the Liu family to take care of the seven children.
Liu Qiang is in high school, Liu Gang and Liu Peng are in junior high school, and the other four are in elementary school, just like Sheng Xinhua and the others.
Along with the children of Chen Weiguo and Wang Jianshe, every day when they went to and from school, a large group of children would walk back home in a flurry.
Sheng Xinyue and Sheng Xinqi were underage but insisted on starting primary school. Sheng Xiping and his wife couldn't persuade them otherwise, so they had to agree.
The two girls were the youngest in their class, and their families were worried that they would be bullied. Liu Xin was in second grade and lived closest to the girls' class, so whenever he had free time, he would go over to check on them.
The other older brothers even declared that anyone who dared to bully their sister would be beaten to death.
With the added influence of Sheng Xiping and Zhou Qinglan, the teachers also took special care of the two girls, so no one dared to mess with them at school.
Just as September began, a phone call came from the capital, informing Sheng Xiping of good news.
The Jilin Provincial Wildlife Conservation Institute and the Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve want to establish a Siberian tiger conservation and breeding center in the Changbai Mountain area and asked Sheng Xiping if he was interested in investing.
Sheng Xiping understood immediately and agreed.
So, with guidance, Sheng Xiping went to the provincial capital to find the relevant departments and signed a contract with them to invest in and build the park.
The provincial forestry department will designate a piece of land near Changbai Mountain as a rescue and breeding center for wild Siberian tigers.
The provincial government allocates a portion of the various expenses required by the research center, while Sheng Xiping pays the majority.
In this way, Sheng Xiping would not need to pay for the contracting of the mountain forest; he would only need to be responsible for the salaries of the researchers and the cost of raising the Siberian tigers.
After the contract was signed, experts accompanied Sheng Xiping to conduct an on-site inspection.
After nearly half a month of investigation in the mountains, experts finally selected 300 hectares of forest land, about 20 miles northeast of the forest farm, for the use of the Siberian Tiger Forest Park, based on Hua Hua's living habits and activity range.
