Chapter 488 Opening Ceremony Generates Millions in Foreign Exchange

Just then, Zhou Qingyue was getting married, and Wang Chunxiu was very busy, so Zhou Qinglan went back to her parents' home every day to help.

For years, Zhou Mingyuan and his wife have lived in that bungalow in Baishan Street.

They initially rented the house, but when public housing was allowed to be bought and sold a couple of years ago, Zhou Mingyuan and his wife paid for it and bought it.

In fact, Sheng Xiping had already suggested that Zhou Mingyuan and his wife find another spacious place to build five brick houses, tidy them up neatly, and live comfortably.

However, Zhou Mingyuan had too many concerns and didn't want to be too high-profile. Besides, they were quite comfortable living in that house and refused to move.

Now that their youngest son is getting married, Zhou Mingyuan and his wife are facing a dilemma: where should they arrange for the young couple to have their new home?

In the end, it was Zhou Qingyang and his wife who suggested that Zhou Qingyue and his wife live in the corner building.

That building was the new house where Zhou Qingyang and his wife got married. Not long after the wedding, Chen Jie went to the military base with him.

The house was vacant, except for the annual Chinese New Year when Zhou Qingyang's family would come back to stay for a few days.

The furniture there is all quite new. With a little tidying up, painting the walls, and changing the curtains, bed, and bedding, it can be used as a new house.

Anyway, Zhou Qingyue and his wife have already bought a house in the provincial capital. This place is just for their wedding, so there's no need to make it too fancy. Something decent will do.

And so, Wang Chunxiu and Zhou Qinglan, along with a few others who helped, tidied up the other side of the corner building.

Everything that needed replacing was replaced, and everything that needed buying was bought again. After all that renovation, it looks like a brand new house.

July 25th, the eighth day of the sixth lunar month, is the wedding day of Zhou Qingyue and Han Manxue.

Just as Han Manxue was on summer vacation, Zhou Qingyue took leave from his work unit, and the couple returned from the provincial capital five or six days early to help with various wedding preparations.

Since both the Zhou and Han families live locally, it's much more convenient to hold the wedding.

On the morning of July 25th, the Zhou family's wedding procession, decorated with big red flowers and red balloons, drove in a grand procession towards the county town.

Zhou Mingyuan has been the bureau chief for many years, and Zhou Qingyue is the youngest child in the family, so this wedding certainly can't be too shabby.

The wedding procession consisted of more than ten cars, with Sheng Xiping's sedan leading the way, followed by a line of jeeps. In those days, that was quite impressive.

The wedding ceremony and banquet were both held at the Songlin Hotel. Actors from the bureau's cultural troupe were invited to perform live, and Sui Qingrun, chairman of the bureau's labor union, presided over the wedding.

Leaders from various forestry bureaus, provincial officials, and Zhou Qingyue's factory all came to attend the wedding, making it a very lively occasion.
