Chapter 407 The two kids went wild

The two tiger cubs are about forty days old now. They are much bigger than when they were born, their fur has spread out, and their stripes are clearly visible.

Most animals have large heads and small bodies when they are young, and this tiger cub is no exception.

With its fluffy head swaying, it always tries to climb out of the flower basket, but it always falls down. It's quite amusing.

Hua Hua is in love with her cubs, so she spends most of her days at home and goes out hunting at night.

Occasionally, when the tigers went too far to hunt and didn't return, Sheng Xiping would make some milk powder to feed the cubs. As a result, the two tiger cubs were very affectionate towards Sheng Xiping and would bark whenever they saw him.

That innocent, wailing voice would melt anyone's heart.

With Sheng Xiping present, and Hua Hua seemingly still remembering Chen Feng, they did not provoke Chen Feng and his sister.

However, Hua Hua still cautiously held the two cubs in her arms, not allowing them to crawl around.

“You two are new here, so Hua Hua might not be used to it yet. Let’s go play in the east room for a while, and let Hua Hua feed Jiao Jiao and Zhuang Zhuang first.”

Sheng Xiping could tell that although Hua Hua hadn't scared Chen Feng and Chen Yue, she remained vigilant, knowing that Hua Hua wasn't familiar with them and didn't trust them.

So he took the brother and sister to play in the east room.

Chen Feng and Chen Yue reluctantly followed Sheng Xiping to the east room.

As they walked, Chen Yue asked, "Uncle, are Jiaojiao and Zhuangzhuang the names of the little tiger cubs? Who named them? They sound really nice."

"Xinhua's grandfather named them Jiaojiao and Zhuangzhuang because they are two tiger cubs, one male and one female."

Sheng Xiping explained with a smile, and the group returned to the east room.

Zhou Qinglan is back. Sheng Xinhua and Sheng Xinyu are with their mother, and unusually, they didn't go to the west room to see the tiger cubs.

At this moment, the two children sat on either side of Zhou Qinglan, holding toys that Zhou Qinglan had bought for them and having delicious candies in their mouths.

If it weren't for these things, those two carefree kids would probably have gone to see the tiger cubs long ago.

"Honey, the construction team will be dismantling the timber in a couple of days. Once they're done, let's take Xinhua and Xinyu back to Songjianghe for a few days."

Sheng Xiping sat down next to Zhou Qinglan and whispered something in his wife's ear.

"I reckon that Mom's side probably doesn't have much firewood left again."

Zhou Qinglan came back with Sheng Xi'an and the Chen siblings. Why would she stay at her parents' house any longer? She only stayed one night before hurrying back.

Zhou Qinglan originally planned to go back to the forest farm first, and then take her child back to her parents' home for a short stay after things calmed down at home in a few days.

Last night, Zhou Mingyuan and Wang Chunxiu were saying that they hadn't seen their two grandsons for a long time and missed them terribly.

Upon hearing Sheng Xiping's words, Zhou Qinglan pondered for a moment and then shook her head.

"Don't bother with firewood, we have plenty at home, enough to last us this year."

If there's not enough firewood in winter, Dad can just ask the lumber mill or timber yard for some scraps of firewood; there's no need to send it all the way down.

Qianchuan Forest Farm is too far from Songjiang River; it's too much of a hassle, involving both vehicles and people.

Ever since Zhou Qinglan and Sheng Xiping started dating, the Zhou family's firewood has been taken care of by Sheng Xiping without anyone else having to worry about it.

However, the car accident during this year's Spring Festival made Zhou Qinglan hesitant.

Let's forget about it. It's such a long way to get a truckload of firewood, and with both the truck and the people involved, Sheng Xiping will have to do a lot of favors. And if anything goes wrong on the way, both Sheng Xiping and Zhou Mingyuan will be in trouble.

“We’ll take the kids back in a few days, and we won’t worry about the firewood.”

It's not that having daughters makes one more inclined to marry outsiders; it's just that carrying firewood down the river from the front was too troublesome.

Zhou Mingyuan is in Songjianghe, near Donggang Forest Farm, Banshihe Forest Farm, Xiaoshan Forest Farm, as well as a lumber mill and a timber yard.

As things stand now, if Zhou Mingyuan simply asks for some firewood, he can get it anywhere. There's really no need for Sheng Xiping to go to such great lengths to deliver it from so far away.

As soon as Zhou Qinglan said that, Sheng Xiping understood and immediately smiled, "That's fine too. If we have firewood at home, we can start burning it first. If Dad says we don't have any firewood, we'll think of another way."

The couple were talking when Sheng Xinyu ran out of candy, so he went to ask Zhou Qinglan for more.

Zhou Qinglan simply held her youngest son in her arms and teased him, "Call me Mom, and I'll give it to you. If you don't call me Mom, I won't give it to you."

Sheng Xinyu looked up at Sheng Xiping, then at Zhou Qinglan, and obediently called out "Mom."

Upon hearing this, Zhou Qinglan was delighted and immediately took out a piece of candy and put it in her son's hand.

Sheng Xinyu was overjoyed, holding the candy, and pondered how to unwrap it.

This time, no matter how Zhou Qinglan tried to coax him into calling her "Mom," the little guy acted as if he couldn't hear her.

"You little rascal, you call me 'Mom' when you want candy, but once I give you candy, you ignore me?" Sheng Xiping frowned slightly as he looked at him.

This brat is no match for a daughter. If he had a daughter, she would probably be snuggling in her mother's arms, clinging to her and refusing to let go.

Those brats are all so carefree, all they know is eating and playing. They haven't seen their mother for so long, and they don't even bother to cuddle up to her for a moment.

"Forget it, why bother arguing with the kids? I already spend so little time with them, it's understandable that they don't cling to me."

Zhou Qinglan was overjoyed to see her two sons' chubby and adorable appearance.

Boys are naturally less emotionally sensitive, which is normal.

When Zhou Qinglan returned, as expected, Principal Wang asked her to leave and continue lecturing to the teachers.

As for Sheng Xiping, the construction team on the mountain started dismantling the logs, and as the production scheduler, he had to go up the mountain every day to oversee the work, so he was never free.

August arrived in the blink of an eye, and the dismantling of the timber was nearing completion.

Following Zhou Qinglan's advice, Sheng Xiping didn't take Leng Dizi, and in the end, Leng Dizi was taken home by the captain of the second work team.
