Sheng Liancheng has one older brother, one older sister, and four younger brothers, and he is the second oldest among them.
It's often said that the second child in a family suffers the most, doing just as much work as the older sibling but receiving less pampering. This is certainly true.
Back in his hometown, Sheng Liancheng did the most work. After being recruited as a worker in Northeast China, he sent money home every year to help rebuild his family's house and support his younger brothers' education.
