Chapter 191 Has the eunuch already given up on Bingqiang?

Zhou Fugui's guess was correct.

After returning to Zhoujia Village, Tian Shanhua couldn't wait to check the gold bars she had buried.

Tian Shanhua's gold bars were buried on the back hill, right next to her husband Zhou Fuyu's grave.

To avoid attracting attention, Tian Shanhua hurriedly prepared a few dishes, put them in a basket, and carried it towards the back of the mountain.

Halfway there, Zhou Dachui caught up with them.

"Mom, I just heard you went back to the village. Where are you going? How is my older brother?" Zhou Dachui asked.

“I’m going to see your dad. Da Chui! Da Zhu is probably not doing well this time. I’m going up the mountain to pray to your dad that Da Zhu can come home soon,” Tian Shanhua said with a sigh.

"Mom, I'll go with you!" Zhou Dachui said, taking the food box from Tian Shanhua's hand.

"Okay." Tian Shanhua thought for a moment and agreed.

If Zhou Fugui really did steal the gold bars, Tian Shanhua definitely wouldn't be able to manage on her own.

Tian Shanhua has four sons and two daughters.

Zhou Dazhu was the eldest son. Zhou Dali, who had already passed away, was the youngest.

Zhou Dachui is ranked third.

Zhou Dachui is not sweet-talking and not very quick-witted. Among the children, Tian Shanhua dislikes Zhou Dachui the most.

However, Zhou Dachui was the most filial of Tian Shanhua's children. No matter how difficult the task, Zhou Dachui would do his best to fulfill any request Tian Shanhua made.

Tian Shanhua now needs a strong laborer to help her.

When Tian Shanhua and her son arrived at the back of the mountain, before they could even pay their respects to Zhou Fuyu, Tian Shanhua went to check the place where she had buried the urn. Seeing the fresh soil on the ground, Tian Shanhua became extremely anxious.

"Big Hammer, come here and dig this up." Tian Shanhua pointed to the ground and told Zhou Dachui to start digging.

Zhou Dachui was very obedient. He would do whatever Tian Shanhua asked him to do.

After digging for more than ten minutes, Zhou Dachui dug out a deep pit.

Tian Shanhua stood by and watched anxiously.

The pot containing Tian Shanhua wasn't buried very deep; in theory, Zhou Dachui should have been able to dig it up with just a few strokes of his hoe.

But now, the jar is gone!

The jar contained not only gold bars, but also some deadly items.

That heartless Zhou Fugui, how could he steal the jar?

Tian Shanhua was so angry that she almost collapsed to the ground.

"Mom, are you alright?" Zhou Dachui saw that Tian Shanhua's face was pale and she looked like she was about to collapse, so he quickly jumped out of the pit and helped her up.

"Big Hammer, stop digging, fill the soil back in!" Tian Shanhua looked as if she had aged several years, all her energy and spirit gone.

"Mom, what are you looking for? Can you tell your son?" Zhou Dachui asked with concern.

“Find a jar; it contains the gold bars your uncle gave me a few years ago. I was afraid someone would find out, so I buried it next to your father’s grave,” Tian Shanhua sighed and said.

Besides Tian Shanhua's brother Tan Shaoan, only Zhou Fugui knew that Tian Shanhua had a jar of gold bars.

Even Tian Shanhua's deceased husband, Zhou Fuyu, was unaware that Tian Shanhua possessed a jar of gold bars.

Tian Shanhua had originally planned that if Zhou Dazhu was sentenced, she would take her sons and adult grandchildren and try to smuggle herself out of the country to find her brother Tan Shaoan.

With a jar of gold bars, the family wouldn't have to worry about running out of money even after they arrived on the other side.

If she had known that gold bars would be stolen even if buried near a dead man's grave, she would have preferred to hide them at home!

"Mom, you have gold bars? Did Uncle give them to you? I don't remember you having any brothers!" Zhou Dachui scratched the back of his head, somewhat bewildered.

"I was sent away by my family to be raised when I was little. There's a lot you don't know!" Tian Shanhua said irritably. "You'd better fill in the hole right now. And help me pay my respects to your father. I'm going back to the village to settle accounts with someone!"

After saying that, Tian Shanhua hurriedly went down the mountain without waiting for Zhou Dachui to react.

Thinking of the gold bars that Zhou Fugui stole, Tian Shanhua felt so angry that she wanted to kill Zhou Fugui.

"Who should I settle the score with? Mom, wait for me!" Zhou Dachui called out from behind Tian Shanhua.

Tian Shanhua turned a deaf ear.

Zhou Dachui's son is too honest and simple.

Tian Shanhua didn't want to talk to him too much.

When Tian Shanhua stormed into Zhou Fugui's house, Chen Jinfeng was hanging clothes out to dry in the yard.

"Jin Feng, is your father-in-law home?" Tian Shanhua asked, suppressing her anger.

"Auntie, you're back! How's Bingqiang? Has he come out too?" Chen Jinfeng hurriedly put down her work and rushed over to greet Tian Shanhua.

“I didn’t see Bingqiang, I don’t know if he came out or not,” Tian Shanhua said, shaking her head.

Tian Shanhua was not lying.

After Tian Shanhua, Zhou Bingqiang, and Zhou Dazhu were arrested and taken to the police station, they were detained and interrogated separately.

Liu Moli's injuries were not serious, and Tian Shanhua kept emphasizing that she accidentally killed him in anger, which is why she was released early.

"You didn't see my Bingqiang?" The hope in Chen Jinfeng's eyes vanished.

Not long after Zhou Bingqiang was arrested, the police searched his home again.

Chen Jinfeng watched helplessly as the police dug up the soil under the bed and took away a wooden box.

Chen Jinfeng felt her heart bleed as she looked at the large stack of money in the wooden box that the police had opened.

Chen Jinfeng resented Zhou Bingqiang.

These coins, some in small change, some new, some old, clearly show that Zhou Bingqiang didn't "save" them up in just a day or two.

Despite being married for so many years, Zhou Bingqiang had never told Chen Jinfeng about money matters.

Chen Jinfeng and Ding Ermei could argue endlessly over a single egg. Wasn't it all because they were poor?

Chen Jinfeng felt that she was completely sincere towards Zhou Bingqiang, but Zhou Bingqiang was always wary of her.
