Chapter 99 Do You Think This Is Convenient?

At dawn the next day, Meng Qidi got up. Because of the mosquito net, she had to carefully climb out from Ling Xiao's body.

When she was climbing over Ling Xiao's legs, he suddenly moved, and Meng Qidi fell directly on his legs without any preparation.

She was stunned and looked at Ling Xiao in surprise, meeting his blank eyes.

The man asked in a cold and hoarse voice, "What's wrong?"

Meng Qidi hurriedly got up, "No... It's okay, I was about to go out. Did I wake you up?"

Ling Xiao shook his head gently, "No."

Glancing out the dark window, he frowned slightly, "So early? It's not safe for you to go alone. I'll go with you."

As he said this, he sat up, picked up the coat beside the bed and put it on.

Meng Qidi put on her shoes and sighed, "Then you follow me."

In fact, she could put her things in the space and then go to the town by herself. She was not afraid of danger and could go directly into the space since it was dark and no one could see anything.

However, if she rejected him, she would probably feel uneasy at home.

The two of them went out after getting ready. Meng Qidi pushed Ling Xiao, who had a large bucket of cooled Ge soup on his legs and a flashlight in his hand to light the way.

For fear of hurting Ling Xiao's legs, Meng Qidi put a thick layer of old bed sheet on his legs, making sure that his legs would not be pressed down before she felt relieved.

The two of them walked to the town one step deep and one step shallow. It was dawn. Ling Xiao glanced at Meng Qidi's watch and asked, "Where are we going now?"

Meng Qidi pushed him under a roof, turned her head and looked around, seeing that there was no one, she quickly took out a black bag from under the wheelchair and put on her torn cotton jacket and headscarf.

It was dark and Ling Xiao didn't know what she was holding in her hand. She kept touching her face and just looked at her in a daze.

If he hadn't seen her cross-dressing in just a few minutes, he would hardly have recognized that the dark-skinned, hunchbacked woman in front of him was his wife...

Meng Qidi took the bucket off his legs, shook out the old bed sheet, and covered his legs with it. "Brother Xiao, are you going to wait here or walk around?"

"You're not taking me with you?" Ling Xiao looked at her in surprise.

"Do you think it's convenient for me to take you there like this?"

Meng Qidi pointed at her appearance and said, if he went there, why would she need to disguise herself? He would be too conspicuous.

Ling Xiao glanced at her and said, "Go ahead. I'll keep watch at the intersection for you. If anything happens, come over here."

There are people who sell things privately, but they are afraid that someone will report them. It is really inconvenient for her to go there like this, so I guess she will get rid of the trouble quickly by herself.

Ling Xiao agreed, and Meng Qidi breathed a sigh of relief. Seeing that there was no one around, she quickly picked up the bucket and walked towards the meat processing factory.

When they reached the intersection, they could vaguely see a few people walking on the road. Meng Qidi quickly found a conspicuous place to put her things.

Sheng Gegeng had cut some bamboo tubes yesterday afternoon. She cut more than a dozen of them. She planned to give away bamboo tubes as a gift on a buy-one-get-one-free basis. She didn't have anything else at home, but there were plenty of bamboos.

Since I plan to sell kudzu soup, it will definitely not work. It is not attractive enough to customers. It is also too late to distribute steamed buns in the morning. There is a lot of dried fish and dried clams that I made previously in the space, so I can sell them together.

Meng Qidi put the things in place and squatted down. After a while, someone came over with his hands clasped, glanced down at her, and asked, "What are you selling?"

The man was wearing work clothes, Liberation shoes, and had a work badge on his chest.

"Would you like some food from home, sir?" Meng Qidi spoke with a mountain accent and halting Mandarin.

She had lived there for decades in her previous life, and had long since learned the local dialect.

"Let's see what's in it." The man glanced at the tightly closed bucket, feeling a little curious. He had seen what was in the bag next to it before. It should be something like small fish from the mountains.

"Liangfen, it's hot in the afternoon, drink some to cool down."

"Is it delicious? Save this for lunch. If it doesn't taste good, where can we find you?"

Meng Qidi grinned, "Sir, you can try a sip. If it doesn't taste good, you don't have to pay."

Meng Qidi scooped a mouthful into the bamboo tube and handed it over.

The man was slightly stunned, and took it suspiciously, "Big sister, aren't you afraid that I won't pay after I take a sip?"

"Don't worry, it's our own stuff, just a little more sugar."

The man glanced at the paste in the bamboo tube. It was quite clean. He took a sip and his eyes lit up. "Not bad, it tastes good. I wonder how much does it sell for, sister?"

"30 cents a tube, 50 cents for two tubes. Don't think it's expensive, sir. It's mainly because it uses more sugar, which is expensive."

"Then give me two tubes." The man didn't care and took out a few banknotes and a bamboo tube and handed it over.

Meng Qidi took the money and put it in her pocket and put it into the space, then she scooped out two bamboo tubes for the other party, tied them up considerately and handed them to him.

"How much is this dried fish?" The man bent down, picked up a dried fish and brought it to his nose and sniffed it. There was no fishy smell.

Meng Qidi glanced at the pile of dried fish next to her. "These are from the mountains. They're 50 cents a pound. Two pounds is 90 cents."

After returning from the afterlife, she felt that these mountain products were so cheap at only 50 cents per pound...

The man paused, "Can I eat it?"

Meng Qidi nodded, "It's cooked and can be eaten."

The man took a bite and found it very crispy. He quickly said, "Give me two dollars."

When Meng Qidi came over, she brought a small beam scale and directly weighed four kilograms for him, and grabbed a handful extra.

The man paid and left with the food. As soon as he left, someone squatted down and said, "I want to try it, too."

Meng Qidi was not stingy and gave him a small sip. The man took a sip and his eyes lit up. "Give me two tubes too."

Two people bought two cans in a row, and passers-by came over out of curiosity.

Meng Qidi was not stingy and gave samples to everyone who wanted to try it.
