Chapter 58

Chapter 58

It would be bad enough that he has done so many evil things, but now he has the nerve to implicate him.

After this incident, he will definitely have no chance in the election for vice-president of the college next month.

Zhou Su'an felt so angry when he thought about how he had fought with Zhuang Pingchun for so long, but in the end he was defeated by his own people.

If it weren't for the fact that Gao Liyue was the one he had loved since she was a child, he would have just thrown Gao Liyue to the police for punishment!

Zhou Su'an left angrily.

Gao Liyue stood there in a daze, and suddenly, a whisper of discussions as soft as mosquitoes reached her ears.

"Was she the one who ordered people to frame Teacher Mu?"

"This is too shameless. They are willing to do anything to harm others!"

"I've attended two of Mr. Mu's classes, and he taught very well. To slander such a good teacher is really a shameless act."

"Tsk, you are so indignant now. Just now when you tore up the notes and threw them at Teacher Mu, you were more active than anyone else!"

"Hey - what kind of deep hatred do she have with Teacher Mu that she would use such dirty means to frame someone?"

"Why didn't she frame others, but Teacher Mu? Maybe it was Teacher Mu himself who behaved improperly!"

"That's enough, Mr. Mu is the victim. Why are you blaming Mr. Mu instead of the perpetrator?"

"Don't be angry, I was just guessing..."

"Does anyone know the name of the perpetrator? He doesn't look like a teacher in our school."

"Definitely not. How could our university recruit someone with such a crooked mindset as a teacher? He must be some low-class jerk who is jealous of our teacher Mu's talent and is deliberately trying to cause trouble."

"I think I recognize her. I've seen her in Professor Zhou's office before..."

Gao Liyue shuddered and couldn't help but look over there.

I saw a group of students gathered together, spitting at her, their faces full of disgust and anger.

If looks could kill, Gao Liyue would have been torn into pieces long ago.

Gao Liyue lowered her head slightly, not daring to let the students see her face.

Her once carefully groomed curly hair hung messily on her face, covering her pale face. Her nails dug deep into her palms, her heart filled with fear.

Suddenly, she thought of something, a fierce light flashed in her eyes, and she stepped on her shoes and walked out of the school with big strides.

*

In the office.

The noise died down, leaving only the soft hum of the fan.

The dean slowly walked to Mu Qingxuan's side.

He placed his wrinkled hands gently on Mu Qingxuan's trembling shoulders, and his white beard trembled slightly with his sigh: "Child, I'm sorry for making you suffer."

The old man's voice was full of guilt and heartache, and tears welled up in his cloudy eyes.

He turned around and took out an antique porcelain box from the mahogany bookcase. He carefully brewed a cup of wolfberry chrysanthemum tea and handed it to Mu Qingxuan.

"Come, have some hot tea to calm your nerves."

"Thank you, Dean."

Mu Qingxuan smiled, took the teacup and drank from it in small sips.

The sunlight fell on her curled eyelashes, casting fine shadows on her face.

Huo Changfeng stood behind her, looking at her thin back with heartache.

"Dean, I will publish an advertisement to clarify this rumor. I hope the school will cooperate with me."

The dean nodded solemnly: "Don't worry, this is what we should do."

He turned to look at Mu Qingxuan again, his tone gentle but firm: "Comrade Mu, I'm sorry for putting you through this today."

"The school will give you three days off. Go home and have a good rest and get back in shape. We will take care of things here, so you can rest assured and recuperate."

Mu Qingxuan raised her head, her eyes were red and tears were welling up in her eyes.

She took a sip of tea, feeling the warm water sliding down her throat and dispelling some of the chill. "Thank you, Dean. I'm fine."

The noise gradually faded away until I left school.

Mu Qingxuan suddenly realized that the crumpled newspaper was still in her pocket.

Looking at the ridiculous rumors and glaring words above, she took a deep breath, turned slowly, and her eyes collided with Huo Changfeng's burning gaze.

This man stood firmly by her side from beginning to end, without the slightest sign of wavering.

The emotions surging in his eyes at this moment made her cheeks flush.

Mu Qingxuan could no longer control her emotions. She walked forward with unsteady but eager steps and threw herself into Huo Changfeng's arms.

Her hands were tightly around his waist, her cheek pressed against his warm chest, and she could clearly feel his strong heartbeat through the clothes.

Again and again, it seemed to be beating on her chest.

"Thank you, honey. Thank you so much."

Mu Qingxuan's voice was heavily nasal, her eyes became moist again, and the hot air she exhaled gently brushed Huo Changfeng's neck.

"If it weren't for you today, I really don't know what to do..."

Her words were intermittent and incoherent.

Her eyelashes trembled slightly as she spoke, inadvertently brushing across Huo Changfeng's skin, bringing a tingling sensation.

Huo Changfeng's Adam's apple rolled as he gently stroked her hair, his chin rubbing lightly against the top of her head, and his breath spraying in her hair became hot.

"Silly, why are you thanking me? You are my wife, how can I just stand by and watch you get bullied?"

His voice was low, with a barely perceptible hoarseness.

Huo Changfeng's arms held Mu Qingxuan tighter, with almost no gap between their bodies, as if they wanted to rub each other into their bones and blood.

Mu Qingxuan raised her head and looked into Huo Changfeng's eyes, her eyes full of confusion and curiosity, her sparkling pupils reflecting his figure.

There were still tears hanging on her eyelashes, sparkling with crystal light, and her slightly open lips had an alluring color.

"By the way, did you find the police officer and Aunt Chen?"

Her voice was soft, with a coquettish ending.

Huo Changfeng raised the corners of his mouth slightly, a chuckle escaped from his throat, and he nodded gently: "Yes, I arranged it."

His thumb gently wiped away the tears from the corners of Mu Qingxuan's eyes, his movements so gentle as if he was touching a precious treasure.

His fingertips caressed her cheek inadvertently, leaving a hot touch.

Mu Qingxuan frowned slightly, her eyes full of confusion.

She stood on tiptoe, their noses almost touching. "But Lotus Village is at least three days away from the capital by train. How did you know and call Aunt Chen over?"

There was a hint of surprise in her tone, and her round eyes were staring straight at Huo Changfeng, getting closer and closer to him.

The breaths they exhaled while speaking blended together, causing Huo Changfeng's gaze to unconsciously fall on her lips, his eyes slightly darkening.
