Chapter 9 The Tailor

Upon hearing this, the other girl quickly looked around.

Su Ruyi quickly lowered her head.

The girl smacked Yuanyuan: "Can't you keep your voice down! What if someone hears us!"

The girl named Yuanyuan said sweetly, "Wasn't I speaking quietly enough? Xiaoli, you're too nervous! Who could hear us from this far away!"

Su Ruyi glanced at them again.

Yuanyuan has a rosy, baby-faced appearance and is wearing a brand-new, crisp suit of the latest style.

Looking at the expression on her face, you can tell that she was the kind of person who was pampered and spoiled since childhood.

Xiao Li, who was next to her, was much less attractive; she had a long face and was so thin she looked frail.

Two withered yellow braids, and his clothes were patched in several places.

The exam notice wasn't posted until 9:28.

At 9:29, before the glue had even dried completely, the person who posted the notice peeled it off.

Those waiting for the exam watched this scene expressionlessly, clearly unfazed by it.

At 10:20, Su Ruyi was the first to hand in her paper.

These were all very simple questions; Su Ruyi, who had scored full marks in advanced mathematics in her previous life, could answer them with ease.

The reason I'm only submitting my paper now is because I don't want to stand out too much.

The proctor stopped her: "Young lady, don't leave. The results will be released half an hour after the exam ends."

Su Ruyi cherishes the kindness of others.

She quickly smiled and bowed, saying, "Thank you, teacher!"

She didn't wander around the factory area; instead, she sat down in the shade behind the bulletin board—her past experience told her not to cause any unnecessary trouble.

At 11:30, the results were finally released.

Su Ruyi immediately saw her name on it.

Su, the top student, smiled happily.

The person filling out the form to register her information was the very same invigilator who had kindly reminded her.

Su Ruyi smiled ingratiatingly and said, "Teacher, I'm here for my brother to take the exam, and we need to register his name."

Upon hearing this, the man frowned immediately: "Your brother? What's his educational background?"

Su Ruyi replied clearly, "I graduated from high school last year, and I was the top student in the entire city!"

The man looked up: "Is your name Su... Tong?"

Su Ruyi asked in surprise, "How did you know?"

The man smiled: "I'm one of the examiners, and I have a very strong impression of this student! We even circulated his papers later! He's an exceptionally talented student! If he were to take this position, there would be absolutely no problem!"

Su Ruyi asked in surprise, "Are you a high school teacher?"

The man said, "I used to work for the Education Bureau, but now I've been transferred to the food factory to work in personnel!"

Su Ruyi quickly filled in Su Tong's information: "Teacher, I still don't know how to address you?"

The man laughed and said, "I share the same surname as you, Su Xiangjun."

"Teacher Su!" Su Ruyi exclaimed in surprise, "We're from the same clan! How about I call you Uncle Su?"

Su Xiangjun laughed heartily: "Good, good, good! My dear niece, how about this, I'll arrange a double room for your brother. It's a bit small, but it'll be quiet! The other person won't be staying in the dorm much!"

Su Ruyi bowed again: "Thank you, Uncle!"

She concealed Su Tong's illness from him.

In fact, as long as you don't do strenuous exercise, you won't easily develop the disease.

The accounting position is a perfect fit for him.

Imagining the happy expression on her fourth brother's face when he found out he had a job, Su Ruyi hummed a tune happily.

She circled around to a grove of trees on the outskirts of the city, and came to a large tree marked with a triangle. First, she dug out the spatula, and then she dug out the lunchbox containing the money and household registration book, and put them all into her space. She also shook off the dirt on the spatula and put it in.

Seeing that no one was around, she pressed down on the red mole and entered the space herself.

She appeared on the bed still wearing her shoes.

She went straight to the hall and opened the food box.

Sure enough, all the food inside was steaming hot and fully replenished.

She ate lunch in a flash.

He glanced at the bowl of water, hesitated for a moment, and then drank it all in one gulp.

This time, I didn't have diarrhea or any other discomfort.

After leaving the space, she suddenly had a feeling—that her strength seemed to have increased again.

To verify this, she kicked a large tree nearby.

A kick that was neither too light nor too heavy.

The tree swayed and looked like it was about to fall backward.

Su Ruyi quickly went around behind the tree and reached out to support it.

She straightened the tree, which was over ten meters tall, with one hand.

Su Ruyi was so frightened that she quickly withdrew her hand.

After several more experiments, I was finally able to control the force.

She thought for a moment, then hugged the tree trunk with both hands and slid down.

The tree is now stable.

Su Ruyi stood there for a while, digesting the fact that she now possessed divine power. She suppressed the uncontrollable joy on her face before leaving.

Su Ruyi deliberately took a longer route to Zhou's house, which was just across the alley from her own courtyard.

Aunt Zhou is a tailor.

Now that private businesses are not allowed, she will only take jobs from familiar neighbors.

"Aunt Zhou, I'm going to the countryside."

Su Ruyi got straight to the point.

"What? That damned Su Dazhi! That heartless Guan Yumei! Daughter, you're only thirteen! How could your parents be so cruel!"

As Aunt Zhou spoke, tears welled up in her eyes.

Su Ruyi quickly interrupted her somewhat exaggerated performance and took out three ten-yuan bills: "Aunt Zhou, I'm fifteen. I need a complete set of cotton-padded clothes, cotton-padded pants, cotton-padded shoes, cotton-padded hats, and cotton-padded gloves, as well as a set of bedding and two sets of smocks—I'm going to Heilongjiang Province. Oh, and I also need to make a new smock for my fourth brother."

"Okay, okay, then Auntie will make you five pounds of cotton-padded clothes and ten pounds of quilts, is that alright?"
