Chapter 162 Disappointed, I'll deal with her.

"Mom, something doesn't feel right," Shen Qianqian said, following beside Old Lady Li and looking at the tightly closed gate of the Qi family home.

She was dragged here by Old Lady Li after hearing that Qi Ran had gone back to her parents' home. The reason given was that Qi Qi's sudden return to her parents' home might mean that she had gone against Qi Ran behind her back again, and she insisted on dragging her here to apologize to Qi Ran in person.

An apology? That's out of the question.

Adding fuel to the fire is something I can do with ease.

"What could be wrong?" Old Mrs. Li glared at Chen Qianqian without any politeness: "You put on a mask for me..."

Just apologize properly later!

In her mind, there were only two things: money and her grandson. And in terms of priority between these two things, her grandson was obviously far more important than money.

After all, money can be earned again. But Sun Sun was hard-won.

Shen Qianqian had no intention of obediently listening to what Old Lady Li was saying. She pouted and said, "Has the Qi family been eating so well these days? The aroma of this meat must be able to travel ten miles away. Poor third brother of mine risked his life to kill a wild boar, but he was thrown away before he could even drink the broth."

"Tsk," Old Mrs. Li said disapprovingly, "It's just a wild boar. We can eat it after the baby in my eldest daughter-in-law's belly is born!"

Although she said that, her stomach was actually growling loudly. Wild boars are very hard to hunt, and Old Lady Li had been craving them for days.

But now, after finally hunting a wild boar, they were thrown out without even tasting a single hair.

"Sigh. All for the sake of the Lu family's descendants!" Old Mrs. Li sighed deeply. The two chatted outside the door for a long time before the Qi family's door was slowly pushed open. "My mother-in-law has arrived." Mother Qi said with a smile, appearing very polite.

Old Mrs. Li didn't bother with formalities; after all, she was only there to take Qi Qi back. She headed towards the door.

He shouted, "Eldest daughter-in-law, I've come to take you home."

Knowing that her daughter was not quite ready to go back with Old Lady Li, Qi's mother simply changed the subject: "Mother-in-law, please come in first. We haven't seen each other for quite some time."

Want to bring Qi Ran home?

We'll have to spend some money to help support our families first!

Thinking this, Qi's mother's eyes lit up. She then pulled Old Lady Li into the house for a long chat.

Old Mrs. Li didn't see Qi Ran, and for a moment she didn't dare to refuse Qi's mother, so she had no choice but to go along with her and go into the house with Qi's mother.

Shen Qianqian had no interest in having a long talk with these two, so she simply moved a stool to the yard to sit down.

Down.

She had just sat down when she turned her head and suddenly noticed some bones next to the woodpile. Judging from their shape, they seemed to be pig bones.

She peeked forward again and was surprised to see a wild boar hiding behind the woodpile!

"Mom, come and see what this is!" Shen Qianqian shouted to Old Lady Li from beside the woodpile.

If this really is the wild boar they abandoned, then she'll definitely start a fire tonight.

"You brat, what are you doing making such a racket in someone else's house!" Old Mrs. Li cursed, but her body betrayed her and she went out.

As soon as she went out, she saw Shen Qianqian kick out a pile of bones from beside the woodpile, and then she looked at Shen Qianqian and pointed behind the woodpile.

"Oh no!" Mother Qi exclaimed inwardly. Seeing Old Lady Li walking forward, she quickly grabbed her hand: "What's so interesting about some bones? Come on, let's go inside and chat."

If those two were to spot a wild boar, they'd probably tear the roof off the Qi family's house!

Grandma Li was initially hesitant about going forward to take a look, because those bones seemed the most...

Most of them were pig bones, which served no purpose other than reminding her of the heartbreak of throwing away a wild boar.

But because of what Qi's mother had just said, Old Lady Li felt that there must be something fishy going on behind the woodpile!

She shook off Qi's mother's hand, strode forward, and her anger blazed as she looked up: "Qi Cuifang! How did our wild boar end up here with you!"

Old Mrs. Li shouted at the top of her lungs, and the roof of the Qi family's house almost fell off with those words!

"Is this your family's wild boar?" Mother Qi retorted confidently, hands on her hips.

It was a dark and windy night, and besides, the wild boar had no markings on it, so she didn't believe that Old Lady Li could recognize that it was their family's wild boar.

"Alright, Qi Cuifang, let me ask you, does the wild boar have any special markings?" Old Lady Li asked Qi's mother.

Qi's mother answered frankly, "Aren't all wild boars the same? What special markings could they possibly have?"

"Very good." Old Mrs. Li sneered, dragged the wild boar out from behind the woodpile, and turned it over so that a piece of bristles about ten centimeters long had been shaved off.

"This is what my third son scraped off when he fought with a wild boar!" said Old Mrs. Li, pointing to the bald patch of skin.

"So what? Couldn't the wild boar have just rubbed it off itself?" Mother Qi still stubbornly insisted.

At this opportune moment, Shen Qianqian stepped forward, adding fuel to the already raging fire of Old Lady Li: "Mom, your sister-in-law made you throw away the pig, then ran back to the Qi family to have them retrieve it, wasn't it all so that she could give the pig to the Qi family and have meat to eat herself?"

"This isn't the first time she's done this. When our family banned meat before, the Qi family lived a very comfortable life. Maybe my sister-in-law helped them a lot."

Shen Qianqian didn't know whether Qi Ran had secretly subsidized her family before, but that didn't stop her from planting a seed of suspicion in Old Lady Li's heart.

"Fine, fine, Qi Ran, how did my Lu family end up with a daughter-in-law like you!" Old Mrs. Li was filled with mixed feelings. All that talk about not eating meat to accumulate good fortune for the children was just a lie she told to support her family!
