Chapter 179 Major Factory Renovation and Transfer

"Hey, didn't I already tell you not to bother me unless it's important? I didn't hire you guys to bother me during my rest time, I hired you to get the job done."

"Get to work properly, or don't blame me for not paying you later!" After threatening the worker who made the phone call, Lu Yuncheng continued drinking and having fun.

The worker, whose call had been abruptly ended, looked embarrassed at the inspector beside him and stammered, "Director Lu...he hung up."

The inspector shook his head in disappointment: "Never mind."

They had intended to give Lu Yuncheng a chance to explain, but seeing his irresponsible attitude, they decided not to give him that chance at all.

Seeing that the inspectors were about to leave, Lu Yunzhi reminded them in time, "Their problem isn't just improper operation, there's more to it."

"The steel they produced before was made with substandard materials."

After listening to the report, the inspectors cast a scrutinizing glance at the workers, who all lowered their heads and dared not utter a word.

"Take us to your warehouse."

The workers didn't dare say anything more and immediately led the inspectors to the warehouse.

The warehouse was filled with previously produced steel. The inspectors checked the steel separately and found that the quality of the steel met the standards. They turned to Lu Yunzhi and asked, "Where did you get the information that the steel produced by this factory was produced with insufficient materials and labor? Judging from the quality of these batches of steel, there is no problem."

Lu Yunzhi usually had some knowledge of steel quality. He picked up a smaller piece of steel and examined its details carefully: "The previous batch must have been hidden by them. This batch in front of us must be a cover-up."

He turned to the worker who had led them into the warehouse and asked, "Besides this warehouse, don't you have any other places to store things? Or is the place we're in now just part of the warehouse, with some kind of door or wall separating it from another part?"

"I don't know either!" the worker said honestly. "We are all newly recruited and have no idea what happened in this factory before."

This statement also gave Lu Yunzhi a reminder: if he wanted to know where the factory's original products went, he should just ask the laid-off workers.

They've just been fired by Lu Yuncheng, and their resentment towards him probably won't dissipate anytime soon. Right now, they're probably hoping something happens to the factory so that Lu Yuncheng's family will be implicated.

“Perhaps only the workers who were previously dismissed know the truth,” Lu Yunzhi said to the inspectors. “Why don’t we go and find out the truth from the former workers?”

"OK!"

Lu Yunzhi led the prosecutors to the factory's staff dormitory. The laid-off workers, carrying their luggage, were moving out of the dormitory with their families.

Lu Yunzhi casually stopped someone and asked, "Are you the workers who were fired by Lu Yuncheng?"

"That's right!" The laid-off worker said angrily, "That incompetent Lu Yuncheng, with him managing the factory, he'll bankrupt it sooner or later!"

Lu Yunzhi continued, "There is now a way to make Lu Yuncheng's factory go bankrupt and leave him with debt."

The workers became interested upon hearing this: "What method?"

After Lu Yunzhi finished speaking to him, the worker immediately put down his luggage and took Lu Yunzhi and the inspectors to Zhao Ling's home.

“Zhao Ling was always afraid that these things would be discovered. It would be too easy to find them if they were kept in the factory warehouse, so he simply built a basement and had people move the steel into the basement before dawn.” The worker said as he led them around the back of the building to a small door. Pushing open the door, they saw a staircase leading to the basement: “Look, this is where we moved the steel in before.”

They went up the stairs and came to the basement, where they found it chilly and creaking from the steel.

The inspectors continued their meticulous examination of the steel, discovering that it was indeed short-weighted. Their expressions immediately turned serious: "How many batches of this steel have you produced?"

"It's been two or three years," the worker said tremblingly. "But you can't blame us; we're just laborers. It was all Zhao Ling's doing." "Okay, we understand the situation," the inspector said. A few days later, Zhao Ling, who was still in jail, inexplicably had his sentence increased by several years.

Later, he realized that what he had done before had been discovered.

Lu Yuncheng's factory was also ordered to rectify and stop production. He is now unable to deliver any of the orders he took over on time and is facing huge compensation.

"It's all your fault for having such a brilliant idea! Now we haven't earned a single penny, and we're even in debt!" Lu Yuncheng roared at Qi Ran, blaming everything on her.

Qi Ran found it incomprehensible: "If I hadn't rescued you, you'd still be in jail! Besides, how come you always mess up everything I give you?"

She now felt that Lu Yuncheng was a useless bum. Even though everything she arranged was so perfect, Lu Yuncheng always managed to disrupt her plans.

"There's only one way now," Qi Ran said. "You transfer the factory to [someone] at a low price."

Others will use the money from the transfer to pay off part of the debt. And from now on, you don't need to go out anymore; just run a small shop with me!

She had figured it out. Since Lu Yuncheng was always causing trouble outside, and she couldn't live without him, she could only let Lu Yuncheng stay at home.
