Chapter 162: The Backstage Plan

Chapter 162: The Backstage Plan

The reporters in the audience kept clicking their shutters, wishing they didn't have enough fingers, and the cameraman lived up to expectations by not missing a single shot.

The emcee of Baozhutai urged Mingxu, "That's enough, stop performing, the fight is about to begin."

Mingxu closed his fist with a sense of reluctance, clenched his right hand into a fist and his left hand into a palm, and bowed to the audience.

After the start signal, Mingxu and Feng Zidong started fighting, and they were actually fighting with Wing Chun.

It was the first time Hu Xiaoxiao knew that Mingxu knew so many martial arts. Nie Jinlong happened to be nearby, so she started chatting with him: "Mingxu also knows Wing Chun. I've never seen him practice before."

Nie Jinlong laughed and said, "Of all the martial arts, Mingxu is the best at Wing Chun. However, because he mostly shoots martial arts films and plays swordsmen, he never has the chance to practice Wing Chun in front of a TV."

"Mingxu knows so many martial arts." Hu Xiaoxiao exclaimed.

Nie Jinlong said: "He has come this far without any backing. Besides being able to endure hardships, he also has a bit of everything and has seized the current market for martial arts films."

Hu Xiaoxiao nodded. Mingxu was indeed hardworking and dedicated. He could even starve himself to death for the sake of filming. She couldn't do that. She filmed just to eat delicious food. If she had to choose between filming and eating, she would definitely choose delicious food without even hesitating.

Feng Zidong also learned Wing Chun. In the fight between the two, their moves were as fast as lightning, their movements were light and agile, and their techniques were varied. Although both of them had some performance elements, judging from the power of their punches and kicks, both of them had real kung fu.

The audience had only seen these clips in movies and on TV, but had they ever seen such a scene in real life? What they were watching now were not just short clips, nor were they separated by a screen. Instead, they were watching the continuous and realistic punches and kicks, the visual effect of which was far beyond what could be seen through a screen.

Feng Zidong threw several quick punches, and Mingxu took several steps back, as if he was beaten so hard that he had no strength to fight back.

After retreating to a certain position, Mingxu secretly glanced at the location of the camera, and seeing Feng Zidong catching up, he immediately fought back.

Mingxu's punches were as powerful and swift as the wind, and he sent Feng Zidong reeling back repeatedly with a flurry of punches. Then, he seemed to have run out of energy and was beaten back again.

Feng Zidong was excited by the rhythm of winning every now and then, and the more he played, the more refreshed he felt.

They were having a blast, and the audience was enjoying themselves. The only person who wasn't happy was the cameraman at the Baozhu stage. He couldn't find anyone in his camera! The players on the stage were fighting so far away from him that his camera couldn't capture any good shots. He could only see their backs or half of their sides, which was really frustrating.

The Baozhutai cameraman saw that there was no way out and wanted to rush over there carrying the camera, but the audience in front were so excited that those in the back wanted to squeeze in to see more clearly. It was so crowded that it was impossible to squeeze in, let alone carry the camera.

The cameraman of Baozhutai could only helplessly shoot some scraps.

In contrast, the cameras of Baogang TV occupied the best positions throughout the entire match, and all the shots they captured were effective. Sometimes, when the two sides were fighting and moved away from the camera, Mingxu would bring Feng Zidong back to continue providing angles and shots.

Hu Xiaoxiao stood next to the cameraman. From the way Mingxu controlled the entire court, she knew that Mingxu had won.

As for how long the fight will last, it depends on how long Mingxu wants to show off.

Just as Hu Xiaoxiao was about to give instructions to the other artists about to go on stage about their positions, Mingxu knocked Feng Zidong down and grabbed the microphone, aggressively challenging his opponent: "Your crew of 'Martial Spirit' is too weak. You don't even need to take turns. I, Mingxu, will be guarding the stage today. Go ahead and do whatever you want! I'll take it all!"

The battles took turns, and ended up becoming a ring defense battle. The audience was happy about it. It was as exciting as watching a movie, and they all applauded and cheered for Mingxu.

The crew of "Martial Spirit" was so angry that they jumped up and started fighting with Mingxu alone.

Hu Xiaoxiao took a look and thought, okay, then she didn’t need to instruct the other artists. She could leave the stage work to Mingxu, and as for the off-stage matters, she could leave them to her.

On the stage, Mingxu was working hard to defend the ring, while off the stage, Hu Xiaoxiao was trying his best to maximize the benefits of this ring match.

After Mingxu won five games in a row, the crew of "Mu Guiying" had already scored six points and the victory was decided.

Hu Xiaoxiao's mind raced. She stood on tiptoe and saw that Lu Sheng was not far away. She squeezed a path through the crowd with her own strength, got to Lu Sheng's side, and pulled Lu Sheng out of the crowd.

Lu Sheng was still enjoying the show and didn't want Hu Xiaoxiao to forcefully pull him away. "The fight isn't over yet, Xiaoxiao, why are you pulling me out here?"

Lu Sheng looked at the layers of people inside with regret. Once he came out, there was no way back.

"Lu Sheng, stop looking. If you keep looking, the fruits of our victory will be picked by others!" Hu Xiaoxiao reminded.

"What?" Lu Sheng seemed to be about to explode. "Who dares to pick our fruits?"

Hu Xiaoxiao analyzed the situation for him, saying, "We've already scored six points out of ten games. We've already won. The news will soon get back to the TV station. If Qiu Lihua gets wind of this, what do you think he'll do?"

Lu Sheng immediately put the game aside and began to calculate quickly, "He must be going to tell Ji Sheng the good news."

"That's right. Then he can claim the current victory as his own achievement and take credit for it from Ji Sheng. That way, all our hard work will be wasted." Hu Xiaoxiao asked Lu Sheng, "Are you willing to give up the credit?"

"Of course not!" Lu Sheng was no fool. On the contrary, he was a man with rich experience in struggle. Once he calmed down, he immediately made a decision: "I'm going to call Ji Sheng now and tell him the good news."

Of course, give someone some eye drops.

As you can imagine, just as Ji Sheng hung up the phone, Qiu Lihua came over to take credit for it. Ji Sheng immediately remembered the embarrassing incident with "Fan Lihua"...

Lu Sheng was about to rush to the parking lot to find his cell phone and call Ji Sheng, but Hu Xiaoxiao stopped him and mentioned her other purpose. "The cameramen have recorded today's competition. I'm sure all the people in Hong Kong want to know the details. How about replacing the program before 'Mu Guiying' with this one?"

In other words, the program preceding "Mu Guiying" was replaced with the recently filmed boxing match. It's easy to imagine how much viewers this exciting boxing match would attract. Nine out of ten viewers in Hong Kong who were watching would choose to watch it. And since the "Mu Guiying" crew won, the next show to air was "Mu Guiying," wouldn't it be natural for viewers who were already excited to continue watching?

In this way, wouldn’t the ratings go up?

A turnaround overnight.
