Chapter 7 Entering the Preliminary Round
Faye calmed her heartbeat again before gently pushing the door open.
After greeting the people inside, Fei Yi invited Hu Xiaoxiao in.
Everyone's eyes were fixed on Hu Xiaoxiao who walked in through the door, and their eyes lit up as she came in.
Hu Xiaoxiao looked at the people in the office and his eyes fell on a man and a woman, especially the man.
He looked gentle, wearing a suit and glasses, and the staff around him treated him with great respect.
Apparently he was the Deputy Director of Production that Faye had mentioned.
"Are you here to sign up for Miss Hong Kong? Please sit down." Charlie gestured to the chair in front of him and said to Hu Xiaoxiao.
Anna stood up, took Hu Xiaoxiao’s registration form personally, and placed it in front of Charlie.
Charlie took Hu Xiaoxiao's registration form, put it down, and said to Hu Xiaoxiao who was sitting down with a pleasant face, "Can you introduce yourself first?"
Hu Xiaoxiao smiled slightly, revealing the most perfect and elegant smile she had practiced in front of the camera, and spoke the memorized words skillfully in very standard Hong Kong dialect: "Of course.
My name is Hu Xiaoxiao, I'm 18 years old, and I just moved to Hong Kong from the mainland. I have a simple personality. I usually like small animals. When I'm back home, I would rather not eat them myself and save some of my food to feed the cats and dogs.
After coming to Hong Kong, I was deeply moved by the enthusiasm and kindness of its people. I hope to make some contribution to this beautiful city.
So, I participated in the Miss Hong Kong pageant, hoping that through this stage, I could promote the kindness, intelligence, enthusiasm, hard work and self-improvement of the people of Hong Kong to the world in the future.
As well as promoting the beautiful scenery and unique customs of the port city, I will strive for the future of this city and work hard for its beauty.
My biggest dream in life is to achieve world peace and for people all over the world to be proud of us, the people of Hong Kong."
Charlie nodded and smiled: "Very good, I admire Miss Hu's dream very much, and I hope you can realize it one day."
After reading Hu Xiaoxiao's registration form, Charlie asked again, "I wonder what interests and hobbies Ms. Hu has?"
Hu Xiaoxiao replied: "I usually read books, listen to music, and improve my literacy."
Charlie asked several more questions, and Hu Xiaoxiao answered them all elegantly and impeccably.
Charlie was very satisfied and said, "Ms. Hu, your conditions are excellent and I admire you very much. According to the original procedure, after registration, you must go through screening before you can enter the preliminary round.
But I think with your qualifications, you can definitely skip this stage of screening and go directly to the preliminary round. The preliminary round will be held in fifteen days, and you are welcome to participate then."
Hu Xiaoxiao stood up and thanked him, "Thank you for your concern. I will work hard and strive to enter the finals."
Charlie told Hu Xiaoxiao some things to note, "On the day of the preliminary round, professional judges will ask you questions and ask you to demonstrate your talents. Now when you go back, you can prepare the talents you will perform.

After watching Hu Xiaoxiao leave, Charlie put Hu Xiaoxiao's information somewhere else.
Anna next to him said with a smile, "Charlie, you are very optimistic about her. It seems that she will be the biggest winner of this Miss Hong Kong pageant."
Charlie shook his head and said, "Nothing is absolute. Until the final moment, we can't be sure who the biggest winner is. Besides, the contestants this year are all very good.
The current internal favorite is Athena, who returned to Hong Kong from overseas and graduated from a prestigious American university. She is not only beautiful, but also talented and comes from a wealthy family. The judging panel really appreciates such women."
Charlie changed the subject and said, "But this Hu Xiaoxiao is too beautiful, smart and good at talking. In my opinion, even if she can't win the championship, she will have no problem getting the third place."
Anna said, "I have always believed in your vision. If she can be elected as the third runner-up and sign a contract with our company, she will be our colleague."

As he was speaking, the office door was pushed open and a capable and shrewd middle-aged woman with short hair walked in.

Linda was also the deputy director of production, on the same level as Charlie. She glanced at the documents in the office and met Charlie's gaze.

Charlie spoke first and said, "Why, haven't you seen such a handsome guy before?"
Linda rolled her eyes and said, "I've never seen a cockroach this big."
"Linda, let's talk about the matter at hand. We can resolve any grievances privately, but when it comes to business, I hope you won't take personal vendettas and think more about the interests of the company."
"What a joke! I, Linda, have always been fair and just. Do you think everyone is like you? Speaking of striving for the company's interests, the money I've earned for the shareholders is countless times more than yours. How dare you criticize me?"
"Now I ask you again, when will Yuna be allowed to come over? As long as she doesn't join the crew and the leading actress is missing, my drama won't be finished."
Yuna is a popular young actress in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Her real name is Wang Xiu Li and she belongs to Linda's family.
Linda said, "Yuna still has a lot of scenes to shoot. My drama is the anniversary drama, a key project for the station. She can't leave for the time being. You should wait another six months."
"What a joke! If we wait another half year, the sun will be up soon. If we don't wrap it up within three months, my project will be a failure." Charlie was completely annoyed.
"Your project failed, not mine. What does it have to do with me?" Linda snorted coldly and turned to Anna and said, "Among the Miss Hong Kong contestants, is there someone named Athena? Give me her information."
After receiving the information, Linda asked, "Besides Athena, have you found any other potential beauties?"

A-Zhan is the director of the program department and one of the main persons in charge of this Miss Hong Kong pageant.
