Maybe she ran too fast. When she was almost in front of Ji Huaizhi, she stumbled and was about to fall. Ji Huaizhi reached out and supported her: "Be careful."
Bai Li held Ji Huaizhi's hand and stood still, her eyes showing both happiness and a hint of grievance: "I've been waiting for you for a long time."
Just at this moment a cool breeze blew, and Bai Li sneezed, looking so pitiful.
Ji Huaizhi turned sideways, blocking the direction of the wind, and said, "You are not feeling well. Go back to the house quickly and be careful not to catch a cold again."
Hearing this, Bai Li grabbed Ji Huaizhi's sleeve with her small hand and nodded with emotion: "I understand, don't be angry."
As he spoke, he squeezed in between Li Yang and Ji Huaizhi and said, "Let's go in quickly. It's so cold outside."
Li Yang looked at the two people's backs and shook his head.
A talented man and a beautiful woman, a golden boy and a jade girl, I really don’t know what I’m doing stuck in between?
Why don't you just leave after the New Year?
While he was daydreaming, Ji Huaizhi turned around and asked, "What are you standing there for? Why don't you go home?"
Li Yang said "Oh," and followed quickly.
Okay, I'll just be a cook for them for now.

After returning home, Ji Huaizhi put his things away and went to the bedroom to pack up.
Seeing Bai Li following behind, Li Yang did not join in the fun and turned to go to the kitchen.
Now that Bai Li was eating with them, she prepared two more dishes for dinner.
Bai Li stood at the bedroom door but did not go in. She watched Ji Huaizhi rummaging through the cabinet with his back to her.
Bai Li's eyes fell on the not-so-spacious bed, as if sighing, "I remember when we were little, you said you'd marry me. I never thought you'd actually be married now."
Ji Huaizhi's hand movements froze, and without turning back, his cold voice lacked any emotion: "It's just a joke I made when I was little. Don't take it seriously."
He took out what looked like a small luggage bag and placed it on the table. He casually said to Bai Li, "You're not young anymore. If you find someone suitable in the future, just tell me and I'll help you find one."
Hearing this, Bai Li's smile almost faded, her lips trembling slightly, as if she was a little sad: "Huaizhi, do you think of me as a burden?"
Ji Huaizhi shook his head: "Uncle Bai and Aunt Fang are gone, I just hope you live well."
Bai Li smiled mournfully. "How could I possibly live well?" She took a step forward. "What if I said I couldn't live well anymore? What would you do to me?"
There was temptation, caution, and an unintentional fragility in her eyes, but she looked at Ji Huaizhi so persistently, demanding an answer from him.
Seeing this, Ji Huaizhi sighed: "Bai Li, you are still too young. One day you will understand that being too persistent is not a good thing for you."
Bai Li drooped her eyelashes in disappointment and shook her head, "Huaizhi, you will never understand my heart."
After that, she turned and walked out of the bedroom: "I'll go see if Miss Li needs any help."
Ji Huaizhi did not chase after him. He looked at the empty doorway and rubbed his brows helplessly.
He opened the zipper of the luggage bag and found stacks of banknotes inside. He took out a black plastic bag, counted out a few bundles, packed them, said a few words to Li Yang, and went out.

When Ji Huaizhi came over, Li Yang was picking vegetables, and Bai Li was sitting on a small stool beside him, observing with a vegetable in her hand.
Hearing the conversation between Ji Huaizhi and Li Yang, which sounded like an ordinary couple, she unconsciously exerted force with her hands, and the crisp and tender vegetables broke with a sound, and the green juice dyed her beautifully manicured nails green.
Li Yang just glanced at her indifferently and continued to pick her vegetables without leaving any trace.
It wasn't her neck anyway.
Bai Li's patience was limited. Within two minutes of Ji Huai's departure, she couldn't sit still anymore. She apologetically put the horribly picked vegetables back into the basket and said to Li Yang, "I'm so sorry, I'm not very good at this."
Li Yang hadn't had any expectations for Bai Li to begin with, but seeing that she had stopped causing trouble, he breathed a sigh of relief: "It's okay, go and rest."
Bai Li stood up without hesitation and went to the main room.
After a while, Yao Yunxiang came to visit.
Yao Yunxiang first glanced in the direction of the main hall and saw Bai Li reading a book. She murmured something three-word mantra and followed Li Yang into the kitchen.
Yao Yunxiang approached Li Yang and asked in a low voice, "Sister Li Yang, do you know the origins of this Miss Bai?"
Li Yang didn't look up and continued cutting vegetables: "Didn't your mother tell you?"
Yao Yunxiang said, "My mother said she was a distant cousin of Ji Huaizhi, but I don't think so."
To accommodate Bai Li, her mother had given her the best, east-facing, sunny room in the house. She even had a new bed set and had her clean the room thoroughly. Not to mention, even Bai Li's bath water was carried into the house by her father and then taken out again to pour it out.
But Bai Li didn't show much expression about all this, as if she should be served by others. She just said "thank you" lightly and nothing else.
What distant cousin? She felt more like a rich lady.
Listening to Yao Yunxiang's complaints, Li Yang curled his lips and said to her, "I don't know what her relationship with Ji Huaizhi is. I just need to do my own thing. She lives in your house, so I'm sorry to bother you."
"Hey, that's nothing." Yao Yunxiang no longer bothered about Bai Li's identity. "But you, I see her trying to get close to your man all day long, and you don't pay any attention."
Hearing this, Li Yang chuckled: "What's there to worry about? Some things can't be changed just by caring about them."
"You don't understand," Yang Chunhua disagreed. "Haven't you heard the saying? The latecomers prevail because the earlycomers don't fight or compete."
Bai Li was in the main room, so it was inconvenient for her to say anything else. She could only remind him, "In any case, you should pay more attention to yourself."
After Yao Yunxiang left, Li Yang looked through the kitchen window at Bai Li who was reading.
Perhaps feeling her gaze, Bai Li raised her head and glanced at her.
This glance was light and airy, without much emotion, except for a hint of contempt and indifference in the eyes.
She looked down on her.
