Chapter 11: Sleeping is worthless

Li Yang burped, and a strong smell of wine rose in her throat. She swallowed it quickly and was about to pour more wine, but Ji Huaizhi stopped her.

Looking up, I saw his expression as if he was about to speak but hesitated: "The wine is strong, let's eat first."

After saying that, he took the wine back.

Li Yang: “…”

She nodded obediently: "Okay, let's eat."

After speaking out my true feelings, I felt relaxed and even the food tasted delicious.

Looking at Ji Huaizhi who was eating with relish, he suddenly gained confidence in his cooking skills.

In her previous life, she remembered that when she died, Ji Huaizhi's health was not good either. News interviews had mentioned that it was due to his poor health during his childhood and youth. In this life, since she had received his kindness, she naturally had to take on the responsibility of taking good care of his health, not only his, but her own.

I hope this time, everything will be in time.

After the two of them finished their meal, Ji Huaizhi quickly put away the dishes and went to the kitchen to wash them.

He rushed Li Yang back to her room: "You've been tired all day, go back to your room and rest first. I'll wash the dishes and go out for a while. I'll be back with something."

Li Yang shook his dizzy head, and before he could refuse, he realized that Ji Huaizhi was holding him down on the bed.

The feeling of sleeping in bed was so comfortable that she murmured, unable to open her eyelids anymore, and fell asleep in a daze.

Not long after lying down, I heard a knock on the door. I remembered that Ji Huaizhi seemed to say that he was going out for a while. I thought that he might have forgotten to bring his keys, so I got up and opened the door.

Unexpectedly, when the yard door opened, it was Feng Mei, her grandmother Yang Chunhua and her third aunt Yue Hong standing outside.

Yang Chunhua's eyes, full of glint, passed over Li Yang and looked directly at the yard and house behind her. Dissatisfaction and disgust were immediately revealed on her face. Then she remembered something and pursed her lips. "Li Yang, Grandma and Third Aunt came all the way to see you, but you didn't invite us in to sit down?"

Yue Hong also squeezed up and said with a forced smile: "Yes, we did it at your mother's request and traveled halfway around Guangzhou to get here." After saying that, she glanced at Feng Mei with a gloomy look.

At noon, Feng Mei hurried back to the old house and said that she had something important to discuss with Yang Chunhua.

When Yue Hong and Feng Mei were young, they had always been at odds because of the birth of their son and various trivial matters. Yue Hong originally didn't want to interfere in her affairs, but when she saw Feng Mei looking like her parents had died, she sat down on the stool and didn't avoid her.

Feng Mei originally wanted to ask Yue Hong to leave, but Yang Chunhua saw through her thoughts: "The third daughter-in-law is your family, just tell me what you want to say."

Feng Mei looked at Yang Chunhua's obvious favoritism towards Yue Hong, and thought that she still had to ask Yue Hong for help for Li Yang's matter, so she could only grit her teeth and swallow it.

She simply treated Yue Hong as a transparent person and told Yang Chunhua about Li Yang's sudden marriage to Ji Huaizhi.

"What? You said that Li Yang got married to a gangster?" Yang Chunhua's face darkened and she slammed the table in anger. "She's so bold!"

Seeing Yang Chunhua getting angry, Feng Mei quickly said, "That's right! That damn girl stole the household registration book while I was away and got married to someone else. By the time I found out, it was already too late!

He usually looks so honest, but who would have thought he would be bewitched by that thug and do such a shameful thing! "

Yang Chunhua looked at Feng Mei angrily. "Hmph, your daughter got married right under your nose. You've reached the end of your mother's job! Instead of spending so much time hanging out with your family, why don't you spend more time on your own daughter? Look at what you've raised her to be."

In her mind, daughters were meant to be sacrificed for the family. Marrying Li Yang wasn't a big deal, but this granddaughter's marriage had to be based on her maximum potential. Otherwise, what was the point of raising her? It would have been better to strangle her to death at birth!

Feng Mei was scolded in front of Yue Hong. Her face turned pale and blue. She gritted her teeth and endured it: "Mom, please help me think of a solution. What should I do?"

If Yang Chunhua hadn't died yet, she wouldn't have to worry about this relationship and would have gone straight back to her parents' home to look for someone. Why would she have to suffer here?

"Hey, sister-in-law, if the solution was so easy to come up with, you wouldn't have come back to find us, right?" Yue Hong, who was sitting next to her, said with great joy, "In my opinion, that thug is probably not easy to deal with, otherwise you would have thought of us?"

When the three daughters-in-law were first married into the family, their first children were all daughters. This made the Li family ashamed for a time, as they were accused of having done something sinful and that was why they could not give birth to a son.

Yang Chunhua had been strong all her life, so how could she allow herself to be looked down upon like this? As a result, the three daughters-in-law went through a very difficult time.

Later, Yue Hong's youngest son was born and became the eldest and only grandson of the Li family. This made her very proud, and her status in the Li family also rose.

The eldest sister-in-law Zheng Xiuying is a weak person. After giving birth to a daughter, she became pregnant and became an invisible person in the family. Feng Mei, however, was not convinced and competed with her everywhere. Later, she even asked Feng Mei to give birth to a son. The relationship between the two became more and more incompatible. Later, Feng Mei relied on her family's support and made a fuss about separating the family, which made her a laughing stock for a long time.

From then on, the two of them not only competed for men and sons, but even their neglected daughter was brought out for comparison. Now Li Yang married a gangster, and a gangster who was extremely poor, which really made her happy!

Feng Mei was choked by Yue Hong's words, and finally couldn't help but choke back, "So, didn't I come here to ask Mom for help? If you have a solution, then say it. If you don't, then shut up!"
