Chapter 33 The boss is still injured

After washing up, Li Yang went to the kitchen and found a handful of noodles and two eggs from the cupboard, planning to make some noodles for breakfast.

It’s a pity that there are no chopped green onions or some green vegetables, otherwise they would add a bit of green.

She looked at the wall of the yard again. There was plenty of sunlight. She thought she could find a broken pot, plant some green onions in it, and pick some when she needed them.

She lit the fire and added some water to the pot. She heard someone hawking outside the door. When she listened carefully, she found it was the old lady selling soy products who often walked around the alley.

She felt in her pocket and found a couple of dollars in change. She took two more bowls and went out.

As soon as I opened the yard door, I saw the old lady parked in front of Sister Qian's house. Yao Yunxiang also seemed to have just gotten up, holding a bowl in her hand, waiting for the old lady to serve her soy milk.

When she saw Li Yang, an ambiguous smile flashed in her eyes, and she said loudly: "Oh, it seems that Ji Huaizhi was very gentle with you last night. He actually made you wake up so early."

Yao Yunxiang's voice was loud to begin with, and it sounded especially clear in the quiet early morning. Li Yang immediately closed the door behind him and glared at her: "Grandma, keep your voice down!"

Ji Huaizhi is still in the room. Does Yao Yunxiang still want her to live?

Seeing Li Yang's embarrassed and angry expression, Yao Yunxiang was even more amused: "Oh, there's nothing to be embarrassed about." She looked Li Yang up and down, her eyes landing on her exposed neck. She sighed and said, "I originally thought Ji Huaizhi was so powerful, but it seems... Oh!"

As people's customs became more open, women in the alleys would sometimes gather together to talk about their children, mothers-in-law, and useless men. Yao Yunxiang naturally heard a lot of talk when she passed by them on her way to and from school.

After spending two times with Yao Yunxiang, Li Yang had gotten to know her temper a little bit. The more she paid attention to her, the more interesting she found her.

So Li Yang rolled his eyes at her and replied, "Yes, I'm sorry to disappoint you."

She handed the bowl to the old lady: "Grandma, please give me a bowl of soy milk and two pieces of tofu."

Seeing that Li Yang didn't want to say more, Yao Yunxiang felt a little bored, so she took the soy milk, paid for it, snorted, and went home.

Li Yang looked at the little girl's angry figure and sighed, what a spoiled child.

*

Soy milk and tofu are very cheap nowadays, costing only 60 cents in total.

Li Yang took the things home, added a little sugar to the soy milk, put it aside and covered it with a lid.

She cut the tofu into thick slices, planning to fry them in a pan until they were golden brown, then add some soybean paste and salt.

By the time she finished cooking the noodles, Ji Huaizhi had also finished washing up.

He came to the kitchen, said hello, and helped serve breakfast.

Li Yang observed Ji Huaizhi's expression and walking posture, and found that there was nothing unusual, so he felt relieved.

After the two of them had breakfast, Ji Huaizhi gave some instructions and went out.

Chen Gang happened to come over on a bicycle to wait for Ji Huaizhi and said with a smile: "Boss, let's go for a bike ride today."

Li Yang saw Ji Huaizhi's back stiffen instantly, and then heard him say, "No bike ride today."

Seeing this, Li Yang lowered his head sadly.

The boss is still injured.

Ji Huaizhi didn't know what Li Yang was thinking, so he reached out to Chen Gang and asked, "Where's the stuff?"

"Oh, here it is." Chen Gang took out a bag from the front of the bicycle and handed it to Ji Huaizhi. "My sister prepared it yesterday, but forgot to give it to you last night."

Ji Huaizhi took it, opened it and looked at it, then handed it to Li Yang: "You should be able to use these."

Li Yang took it and opened it, and saw that it was a bag of beautifully wrapped candies.

In Guangdong Province, there is a custom of giving wedding candies to newlyweds. Today happened to be the day she returned to work at the factory, but she had been so busy in the past two days that she had forgotten about it. She didn't expect Ji Huaizhi to still remember it.

She glanced at Ji Huaizhi's crotch without leaving any trace, and felt even more apologetic in her heart: "Thank you."

Chen Gang said, "Sister-in-law, you don't know. The boss specifically told my sister to buy the best things and not to buy anything that doesn't taste good or looks good. She's more attentive than a woman."

Ji Huaizhi glanced at him coldly: "If you can't speak, just say less."

*

Li Yang only took two days off and will be back to work at the factory today.

She still picked out a pair of pants that weren't too out of the ordinary, matched them with her previous clothes, and went out.

As soon as he arrived at the factory, many familiar co-workers came forward to congratulate him. Li Yang thanked them one by one and distributed the candies in his hand.

The workers held the exquisite candies and assumed in their hearts that Li Yang must have married a wealthy man, otherwise why would they be willing to buy such expensive candies?

There were also curious coworkers who asked her, "Xiao Li, who is your husband? I've never heard you mention him."

Li Yang knew that he couldn't keep the fact that he was married to Ji Huaizhi secret for long, so he said, "His name is Ji Huaizhi, and he's from the same village as me."

"Ji Huaizhi?" The worker's eyes widened. "Is this the Ji Huaizhi I know?"

Li Yang nodded: "That's him."

The coworker couldn't help but give a thumbs up: "Wow, Xiao Li, I didn't expect you to marry Ji Huaizhi. It's really amazing."

Girls of this generation have watched a lot of Hong Kong gangster movies, and have a love-hate relationship with the love stories between the young and dangerous guys and the good girls in them.

When something like this happens in real life, the little girl's eyes light up.

Li Yang had originally thought he would be looked at strangely by his coworkers, but he didn't expect this to happen. He smiled sheepishly and said, "Not bad."

A young coworker asked her curiously, "How did you two meet? If you have time, please tell us your love story."
