Chapter 52

When Li Yang woke up again, he found himself lying in an abandoned warehouse.

Her body was tilted on the ground in an extremely uncomfortable position, and her bones creaked with the slightest movement.

Li Yang opened her eyes and first adjusted to the dim light in the room before struggling to sit up. However, even this posture took a lot of effort - her hands and feet were tied tightly.

Li Yang tried to follow the popular science books he had read in his previous life on how to save himself when tied up with ropes, but to no avail.

Seeing the sophisticated binding techniques on his body, Li Yang's heart sank.

She vaguely remembered that the man who kidnapped her was a thin man. She had originally thought that he had climbed over the wall for money and had even considered whether to voluntarily hand over the money to save her life. Instead, the man ran straight towards her, wrapped her in the quilt from the bed, and carried her out. When she tried to call for help, she lost consciousness.

Now that her clothes are all on and she doesn’t feel uncomfortable anywhere, it means that the man is not doing it for sex.

If it's neither for money nor for sex, then perhaps there is only one possibility left - for revenge.

It goes without saying that this hatred is because of Ji Huaizhi.

Thinking of this, Li Yang sighed heavily.

She was just Ji Huaizhi's fake wife, so why did she suffer this misfortune?

After thinking this through, Li Yang was not so worried anymore, because if the other party's ultimate goal was Ji Huaizhi, then he would definitely find a way to inform Ji Huaizhi and achieve his own goal.

Although she believed that Ji Huaizhi would come to save her, she really didn't like the feeling of sitting and waiting to die. Besides, what if the two sides started fighting and she was injured by accident?

So, Li Yang struggled to stand up again, and hopped over to a small window beside the warehouse, wanting to see what was happening outside.

She stood on tiptoe and stretched her neck to reach the edge of the window, so she could only jump with all her might, and with the gap in the jump, she could catch a glimpse of the scene outside the window.

The warehouse should have been built on a deserted piece of land, surrounded by a gloomy sky, overgrown weeds, and a sparse pine forest on the edge, nothing else.

In such a deserted place, no one would hear her even if she screamed at the top of her lungs. No wonder she was too lazy to plug her mouth.

Just as Li Yang was thinking, footsteps were heard outside the door. She quickly jumped back to her original place and lay down pretending to sleep.

With a creaking sound of the iron door, it was pushed open from the outside. As the footsteps approached, the other party walked in.

Li Yang felt someone scrutinizing her face, and then heard a rough yet flattering male voice say, "Brother Hai, this bitch isn't awake yet. How about we let the brothers have some fun with her for a while?"

Then a hoarse male voice snorted, "Haven't you had enough of the loss you suffered last time? You're almost tying your head to your dick, fuck your mother!"

The man who was scolded immediately fell silent and stepped aside.

Listening to the conversation between the two, Li Yang's heart felt like riding a roller coaster, going up and down, and finally landing on the ground.

That was a close call.

Just as she was about to continue pretending to sleep, someone kicked her calf, and then something was thrown into her arms. The man who spoke later said, "When you wake up, get up and eat something. Don't starve to death."

Li Yang: “…”

This time, there was no way to pretend anymore. Li Yang could only open her eyes and struggle to sit up, only to find that the man had thrown her a cold steamed bun.

Opposite him was a thin man, not tall, only about 1.7 meters, with thin lips and pointed cheeks, and a hideous scar on his brow, which made him look even more ferocious.

The man who spoke first was short and fat, with squinting eyes when he looked at people. At this moment, he was staring at her with ill intentions.

Li Yang confirmed that he did not know them.

The man pulled over a wooden stool and sat down casually. He stared at Li Yang for a long moment before saying, "Do you know why I arrested you?"

Li Yang shook his head decisively: "I don't know."

The man didn't seem to mind Li Yang's answer and continued, "Your man stole my business, and I captured his woman to threaten him. Tell me, will he give up this business for you?"

Li Yang finally understood everything, and was thankful it was a business matter, not a vendetta. The former was ultimately about profit, while the latter could cost lives at any moment.

Li Yang pretended to be frightened and said, "Big Brother, if you and Ji Huaizhi have any business disputes, just sit down and talk it out. I'm just a woman, I don't know anything, what's the point of arresting me, don't you think?"

"Oh." The man shouted coldly, "How could you not know anything? I see you've been getting along pretty well with those people in the jade workshop these days, haven't you?

Besides, you are the first woman by Ji Huaizhi's side, how bad can you be?"

He suddenly leaned closer and pointed at the scar on his brow bone, his eyes filled with hatred: "Look carefully, this scar was given to me by Ji Huaizhi, so don't think he is a good person."

Hearing this, Li Yang secretly thought that something was wrong. It seemed that he and Ji Huaizhi were not only conflicting interests, but also enemies.

It seems that the feeling of someone following me a few days ago was not an illusion.

He had found out her whereabouts clearly and knew Ji Huaizhi well, so no matter what she said, she probably wouldn't be able to hide it.

So she simply lowered her head and stopped talking.

It seemed that the man said these words to Li Yang just to relieve his boredom. Seeing that Li Yang ignored him, he was not angry.

He stood up and said, "I've already sent someone to inform Ji Huaizhi. If he really cares about you, he'll probably be here tomorrow. If he doesn't come... then don't blame me for being cruel."
