Chapter 71 Settlement of Accounts

Fu Jin and Xu Yanping had just walked to the door. Xu Yanping was talking excitedly when Fu Jin turned around and was about to leave.

Seeing Fu Jin's indifferent expression, Xu Yanping's face flashed with displeasure. However, due to the people coming and going at the gate, she could only force a smile: "You're almost late for work, go quickly."

Compared with Xu Yanping's enthusiasm, Fu Jin just responded faintly and disappeared in the crowd without looking back.

Xu Yanping looked at Fu Jin's receding back, stomped her feet in anger, and turned back to the factory.

Li Yang and Zheng Shu didn't have time to look away and met Xu Yanping's gaze head-on.

Xu Yanping immediately put on a different expression, a smile that she thought was happy on her face, and snorted at Li Yang: "What are you looking at? You can't envy such a thing."

Zheng Shu was so angry that he wanted to step forward to argue, but was stopped by Li Yang.

Li Yang shook his head at her and pretended to be disappointed: "You and Fu Jin have just started dating. It's not certain whether his family will agree or not. Don't be too happy too soon."

Li Yang's disappointment pleased Xu Yanping's desire to show off, but what she said made her angry. She choked, "How do you know his family doesn't agree? Maybe they're hoping I'll marry him sooner!"

Upon hearing this, Li Yang's expression of sadness became more obvious, but she still said stubbornly, "Really? I heard that Fu Jin's mother doesn't like ordinary girls." She continued slowly, "I heard that their old house is going to be demolished, so their standards are even higher."

Xu Yanping became even more complacent when she heard this: "Humph, it's just that his mother doesn't like you. Do you think I'm as useless as you?"

After spending these days with Fu Jin, her heart began to recoil at his strange temper and difficult-to-approach personality. If she hadn't been determined to have a fight with Li Yang, she would have dumped him long ago.

She asked Fu Jin to take her home this morning after she begged him for a long time yesterday, and Fu Jin only agreed reluctantly. He looked reluctant on the way, which made her so angry that she almost lost her temper on the spot.

Now that I heard that Fu Jin’s old house was going to be demolished, how could he be willing to give up such a fat duck that was about to be caught?

Even if it wasn't because of Li Yang, he would squeeze into the Fu family just for the sake of their old house!

Thinking of this, Xu Yanping straightened her chest and walked past Li Yang. As she passed by, she deliberately bumped into her with her arm.

Zheng Shu supported Li Yang, her face flushed with anger. "It's fine if you don't dare to confront her, but why don't you let me scold her?"

Li Yang patted the back of her hand to comfort her: "There's no need to bother with her."

Fu Jin's family had an old house, and the rumor that it was going to be demolished was true. To get more compensation, Fu Jin and his mother took out their family savings and rushed to build a larger house on the vacant lot next door before the policy was announced. They even gave away many gifts to achieve this goal. However, a few months later, the policy came into effect, and the demolition stopped at their neighbor's house. Not only did Fu Jin and his mother lose everything, but they also lost a lot of money.

So, didn't Xu Yanping want to dream of getting rich? She might as well give her a push, so that when she woke up from her dream in the future, she wouldn't be unable to bear it.

Li Yang naturally had to settle the account with Xu Yanping regarding the fact that Xu Yanping and Feng Mei had jointly collected the salary.

She first went to the finance department and found the accountant who was responsible for paying salaries. She pretended to know nothing and collected her salary from the accountant.

The accountant was puzzled: "When you asked for leave, didn't you ask your mother to help you collect it? Don't you know?"

Hearing this, Li Yang was surprised: "What? My mom got it for me?"

The accountant looked at Li Yang's reaction, which didn't seem fake, and became a little panicked: "Yes, it was Xu Yanping who brought your mother to the factory at that time. She said your father was sick and you couldn't come back because you were out of town. So she asked your mother to take the salary back first and she even signed it." As he spoke, he took out the notebook that Feng Mei had signed at that time.

Li Yang quickly took the notebook and glanced at the signature. Her face immediately paled. "It's my mother's handwriting, but...why would they do this? And my father isn't sick." She looked up at the accountant, tears welling in her eyes. "Besides, Xu Yanping and I broke up a long time ago. Everyone in our group knows it."

The accountant's face immediately became very ugly.

She was an old employee of the factory, and because of her seniority, even the factory had to give her some face. Originally, it was against the regulations for family members to collect wages on her behalf. But precisely because she was an old employee, and Feng Mei and Xu Yanping spoke sincerely in front of her, she thought the regulations could be flexible, and agreed to Feng Mei's request to collect wages on her behalf.

But now it seems that Feng Mei and Xu Yanping deceived her because she was easy to talk to. If Li Yang wants to pursue this matter, she will be held responsible.

But asking her to admit her mistakes is absolutely impossible.

So, she said to Li Yang with a serious face, "Xiao Li, your mother collected your salary on your behalf and you didn't know about it. You didn't communicate the matter well. Fortunately, the person who collected the salary was your biological mother, not someone else. Go back and talk to her properly. Don't do such a thing again next time."

Li Yang observed the accountant's expression and knew that she already held a grudge against Xu Yanping. He decided to withdraw while he was ahead. "I understand. I'll go back and tell her. But it's really wrong for Xu Yanping and my mother to take advantage of your kindness like this."

The accountant nodded. "I'll report this to my supervisor. I hope you won't make it public until the results are out."

Li Yang responded, "That's natural."

When Li Yang returned to the workshop, Xu Yanping was still telling her coworkers about her and Fu Jin's "love story". Li Yang was in a good mood and didn't bother to pay attention to her.

Sure enough, in the afternoon, Xu Yanping was called to the leader's office by the radio.

Yes, it's radio.

Half an hour later, Xu Yanping came back with a gloomy face. She was criticized by the whole factory for her passive resistance and her salary for that month was deducted as a warning to others.

Li Yang was so happy after hearing this.

Xu Yanping listened to the report to herself with an expressionless face. She recalled the scolding from the old accountant in the office. Her saliva sprayed on her face and she wished she could eat Li Yang alive.

Seeing Li Yang's gloating expression, he finally couldn't help himself and rushed over to her in three or two steps, glaring at her: "This is all your fault, it's you who caused me to be criticized!"

The face that she valued the most was gone!

Li Yang sneered, "Some people, even when they've done something wrong, always try to blame it on others." She blinked and challenged, "If you don't agree, just tell us why the factory is punishing you."
