A gazebo was built along the grape trellis in the courtyard, which perfectly enclosed the stone table.
The lemon tree next to us was laden with yellow lemons.
A faint fragrance wafts in the air, mingled with the fresh scent of leaves.
Lin Ziyan pushed open the door and walked into the courtyard. She went straight to the pavilion and casually put her bag on the stone table.
Xiaoxiao said, "Sister, I received the 'Three Good Student' award again this semester, and the school also gave me a bonus."
Seeing Xiaoxiao's pleading look, Lin Ziyan slowly smiled and said, "Xiaoxiao is really amazing. Just ask for any reward you want, and I'll grant it."
Jiaojiao pouted, wanting to lean over and say she wanted one too, but she held back.
"Can I have a painting? Just this courtyard?" Xiaoxiao looked at her expectantly.
Lin Ziyan nodded, "Of course." She gently put her arm around her slender shoulder.
Her two younger sisters never caused her any trouble; on the contrary, they matured early and would even take the initiative to help their great-grandmother.
Lin Ziyan sometimes wondered if she could get along well with her younger brother if she hadn't been reborn here.
She walked to the other side, took out the soap mold, and handed it to her two younger sisters so they could wash it clean.
This wasn't the first time we'd made soap; the three of us worked together very well.
Grandma Lin put the twins in the stroller and pushed them out to sunbathe.
Xiaoxiao was noticeably more talkative than before, constantly chatting with Lin Ziyan about school matters.
“Our PE teacher is amazing. One of my classmates twisted his hand, and he quickly fixed it with a ‘snap’. We were all stunned.”
"Now that the school has moved, there are climbing and crawling exercises, and when he demonstrated them, everyone was stunned by how fast he was..."
Xiaoxiao smiled and slowly began to explain, and Jiaojiao listened attentively.
Lin Ziyan's heart skipped a beat upon hearing this.
Can a physical education teacher be so all-around capable? Can they handle everything from bone-setting to military training?
"Xiaoxiao, is he the new PE teacher?" Lin Ziyan asked tentatively, afraid that her sister was exaggerating and that she would overthink it.
"Hmm, our PE teachers used to be both homeroom teachers and teachers..." Xiaoxiao suddenly remembered something, and her ears turned red instantly.
Jiaojiao blinked. "Second sister, why is your face suddenly so red? Do you have a fever?"
Xiaoxiao, "..."
The wind swirled up the leaves on the ground, and a few fell beside the pond.
"We discussed it privately, and it seems our homeroom teacher might like Teacher Wang," Xiaoxiao said in a very low voice.
She suddenly stood up, strode into the main room, and soon came out with a small, dark brown glass bottle.
I put a sticker I drew on it, a yellow lemon.
Lin Ziyan shook her head and chuckled. The sticker was drawn by her younger sister herself, and the character "Xiao" was written on it.
"Today I saw the homeroom teacher talking to Teacher Wang, and she gave me this glass bottle, saying it was sugar water."
"I don't like drinking sugar..." Before Xiaoxiao could finish speaking, Jiaojiao snatched the small glass bottle away.
“I like it…” she giggled, leaning over the fish tank and blinking as she watched the little goldfish swimming around inside.
The little yellow croaker grew up and was moved to a larger fish tank. Only tadpoles and goldfish swim around in this tank.
"It was originally meant for you." Xiaoxiao looked at her younger sister speechlessly.
Lin Ziyan raised an eyebrow slightly; her second sister had indeed always liked to drink sweet soup.
Jiaojiao hugged the small glass bottle, her eyes crinkling with laughter, reluctant to let go.
Grandma watched them making a fuss but didn't say anything; she just played with the twins from the side.
Today, Grandma Lan and Grandma Lu went to the temple to pray for blessings, saying that the Lu family has recently been attracting bad luck and they need to get rid of it.
"Little fish, do you want some sweet soup too?" Jiaojiao said to the goldfish. She unscrewed the bottle cap and was about to drink when she suddenly stopped and poured some into the goldfish's mouths.
"I'll give you a little bit to drink..." Jiaojiao was very reluctant, after all, it was only a small bottle.
She carefully poured the "sugar water" and aimed it at the goldfish's open mouth.
"Slap! Slap!"
The little goldfish splashed water hard, spraying Jiaojiao's face.
She muttered, "Why are you angry when I gave you sugar water?"
Lin Ziyan leaned closer suspiciously and saw that the goldfish's mouth was corroded and it was thrashing about.
Her pupils dilated suddenly, and she grabbed Jiaojiao's hand. "What did you just feed it?"
Jiaojiao was about to drink when her hand was grabbed. She instinctively replied, "It's sugar water! I want to drink it all and not give it any more."
Lin Ziyan's hands trembled, and a word instantly popped into her mind: high-concentration sulfuric acid!
"Sister, you're hurting me." Jiaojiao frowned, leaned closer to the fish tank, and saw the little goldfish floating on the water.
"Jiaojiao, give the glass bottle to your sister, and she'll give you chocolate in a bit." Lin Ziyan tried to calm herself down, afraid of scaring her.
Jiaojiao handed her the bottle and scooped up the goldfish that had floated to the surface.
"It...it's dead...the little goldfish is dead."
Lin Atai's eyelids twitched; she had been so focused on playing with the twins that she hadn't noticed them.
This little goldfish has been raised for almost half a year, and it hasn't died even though Jiaojiao has fed it to the point of overfeeding.
"Ah Yan." Lin Atai looked at her pale face, and her hand trembled slightly.
Seeing her older sister's expression, Xiaoxiao's heart tightened. Was there something wrong with that sweet soup?
She just saw her younger sister feeding the goldfish...
"Clang..." Xiaoxiao dropped the mold in her hand to the ground, her pupils contracting.
Jiaojiao scooped out the fish, her eyes quickly filled with tears, and she cried loudly.
The twins lying in the crib also started crying.
After tightening the glass bottle, Lin Ziyan gently hugged her younger sister and shook her head at Xiaoxiao.
The fewer people who know about this, the better.
Is there a problem with the homeroom teacher?
