Chapter 150 Reencounter with Madame Chiang

When the village party secretary of Haitang Village arrived, he looked dejected.

He rented out that hilltop, so he can't escape responsibility now that something's happened.

The main reason he was willing to rent out that hilltop was because he saw that the market in Haibi Village was booming.

He used to think that life in Haitang Village was better than in Haibi Village, but now that the gap was widening, he was anxious.

"Old Tan, could you please make this trip for me..." He said, his head drooping, squatting down beside him.

"What can I say? How could you fall for that Boss Liang's trick?" Secretary Qin exhaled a smoke ring, his eyes cold.

He only found out yesterday from several secretaries from nearby villages that Boss Liang had not only been looking for people from Haitang Village.

"I was out of my mind at the time," said Secretary Wei of Haitang Village, choking back tears as he held his head in his hands.

Lin Ziyan poured him a glass of water without asking any questions.

The two villages were already at odds over the port, and now the market issue has arisen as well.

"Ayan, give me an idea," Secretary Qin said, forcing himself to speak.

Lin Ziyan briefly explained her thoughts, and whether they were willing to do so was up to them.

At the port,

After the modification of cargo ship S was completed, it was ready to embark on a long voyage.

After watching the driver operate the controls and finding no problems, Lu Yunshen turned and went back to his office.

Waves crashed against the hull, and sunlight streamed through the glass into the cabin.

"Yun Shen, don't make a move lately..."

Lu Yunshen stopped in his tracks and looked at his second uncle, who had boarded the ship at some point.

Lu Tianqi looked solemn. If he hadn't suddenly received orders to set off immediately, he would have preferred to have a leisurely chat with his nephew.

Unexpectedly, the situation changed at the last minute...

"Second Uncle, I don't know what you're talking about." Lu Yun Shen leaned against the railing of the boat, a glint of light flashing in his dark eyes.

Another reason he insisted on modifying the S cargo ship was to sail to the sea area where their team had lost contact.

Almost two years have passed, and Lu Yunshen still remembers the despair they felt when they were isolated and helpless.

And the one who started this is now sitting right in the same spot.

The Lu family cannot be touched; if they are, they will be caught red-handed.

"Wait until I get back from my mission." Lu Tianqi took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and handed one to him.

Lu Yunshen didn't respond, but simply took the cigarette and lit it.

"The methods I use won't affect you," he said with a faint smile.

He won't make a move? But those people won't let him off the hook.

Lu Tianqi clenched his fists, a sense of powerlessness welling up inside him.

He wanted to say something more, but then felt that saying more would be pointless.

Lu Tianqi quietly finished his cigarette, then patted him on the shoulder. "I know you know what you're doing."

Lu Yunshen narrowed his eyes; his family had always avoided discussing this matter.

"Wait, you're not going to carry out... the mission I didn't finish before, are you?"

Lu Tianqi didn't say anything, and turned to leave.

He didn't know what the mission was, but he vaguely guessed it was related to what his nephew had done before.

Lu Tianqi's intuition has always been very accurate.

The rustling sea breeze blew the sand from the beach, creating a whirlwind.

The leaves caught in the whirlpool can only drift upwards with the wind.

Next, cargo ship S set sail, and Lu Yunshen and Yang Yanzhou both embarked on the journey.

The burned-down seafood market has reopened, but it no longer sells seafood; instead, it has become a wholesale market for agricultural products.

Lin Ziyan goes to the He family's house for classes every day, and then goes to the fish farm and shrimp farm to take a look.

Time flies, and two weeks have passed in the blink of an eye.

That day, Lin Ziyan arrived at the entrance of the bookstore next to the city library.

"Ayan, over here." Lu Qiuying leaned against the bicycle and waved to her.

The two agreed to meet at the bookstore and then go to Boss Huo's restaurant for a hot pot meal.

As the weather grew colder, Lin Ziyan put on a light purple sweater, layered over a pure white shirt.

She cut her hair shorter and tied it into a simple high ponytail, revealing her long, fair neck.

"Did you use the yarn you bought at Sister Fang's shop last time to knit this sweater?" Lu Qiuying asked, tugging at the hem of the sweater.

"Hmm, I also knitted a vest." Lin Ziyan watched her lock the car before they walked to the bookstore together.

As the two entered the shop, a faint scent of ink wafted towards them.

It makes people unconsciously slow down their pace and lower their voices.

"Can you help me choose? I'm getting confused by the economics courses," Lu Qiuying said in a low voice.

The Ministry of Foreign Trade recently arranged an economics course, and students are required to write a report after completing it.

The directive from above is to instruct the Ministry of Foreign Trade to keep pace with development and learn more about economics.

Lin Ziyan smiled wryly, "I didn't study economics, so I can only offer suggestions at most."

"Besides, isn't Xiao Jin studying this? Why didn't you contact him?"

Lu Qiuying's eyes flickered; she had been avoiding Xiao Jin lately.

She picked up a book and flipped through it casually.

Rumors are circulating in Beijing that Xiao Jin has connections; otherwise, he wouldn't have bypassed Old Master Xiao and used his own connections to secure the Fuzhou city plan.

Many foreign businessmen are now flocking to the planning bureau, just to block Xiao Jin.

Seeing her expression, Lin Ziyan didn't ask any more questions and started flipping through books on economics.

"Little girls, if you're looking for the latest version, it's on the top shelf."

The bookstore owner said with a smile that she recognized Lin Ziyan at a glance.

Lu Qiuying raised an eyebrow. She had been to this bookstore several times, but she had never seen the proprietress so enthusiastic.

"Thank you." Lin Ziyan nodded to the proprietress and stood on tiptoe to reach the book on the top shelf.

She glanced at the cover and her eyes narrowed slightly.

"Just take a look." Lin Ziyan stuffed the book into Lu Qiuying's arms.

She walked to the shelf for aquaculture-related books but didn't find any new ones.
