Sitting in the back seat of the car, Lin Ziyan rubbed her eyes.
She stayed up late at night doing cross-stitch, and her eyes were bloodshot.
"Staying up all night again?" Lu Yun Shen glanced at the rearview mirror, took a bottle of eye drops out of his bag, and handed it to her.
Lin Ziyan casually took it, dripped a few drops, and relieved her fatigue.
"I'll only be busy for a few days, but it's already done." She blinked, letting the eye drops mix fully.
Xiaoxiao and Jiaojiao were lying down looking at the scenery outside the car and didn't notice them.
Lu Yunshen raised an eyebrow slightly, "When can you give me the gift you prepared?"
"We'll be heading back to Beijing tomorrow."
Lin Ziyan's lips twitched slightly, "I'll give it to you when we get back."
Lu Yunshen's lips curled up, and the glint in his eyes gradually gathered, shining like a dazzling star.
He received letters from Lin Ziyan every day; sometimes it was a poem, sometimes it was a bunch of nonsense.
But he would read even the most trivial things over and over again.
Lu Yun Shen unconsciously wrote a similar letter as well. Back and forth they exchanged letters, and the two of them tacitly avoided discussing the contents of the letters.
He thought of what she had said about Platonic relationships, and a smile involuntarily crept onto his lips.
Lu Yunshen didn't understand what it meant before, but now he understands it deeply.
Having a partner with whom you share a spiritual connection is a pleasure.
The car drove at a leisurely pace, and the two chatted briefly before arriving in the county town.
Lu Yunshen parked his car in an open space not far from the supply and marketing cooperative.
The streets were packed with people.
Lu Yun Shen carried Jiao Jiao directly, not letting her walk.
Lin Ziyan held Xiaoxiao's hand tightly, staring at the crowd, feeling an urge to go home immediately.
She already thought it was ridiculous to go to the market before.
Compared to now, it's like a small fry compared to a big fish.
"Follow me." Lu Yunshen held Lin Ziyan's hand and walked towards the shop next to the supply and marketing cooperative.
They didn't plan to go to the supply and marketing cooperative this time; there were long queues there, mostly people buying fabric to make clothes.
The shops next to it weren't very crowded, mainly because the items there were much more expensive than those at the supply and marketing cooperative.
Lin Ziyan only breathed a sigh of relief after the group entered the store.
Grandma bought some things to prepare for the New Year in town and some from the villagers in the next village.
The main reason I came to the county town this time was to buy clothes for my two younger sisters.
Lin Ziyan didn't want to buy fabric to make it for her grandmother; it would be a waste of time and hurt her eyes.
She heard that there were ready-made clothes for sale in the county town, so she wanted to come here to buy some.
As for her own clothes, Lu Yunshen gave her several sets of popular styles from Hong Kong, so there was no need to come to the county town to buy them.
That's why she thought of returning the gift to him.
"Sister, there are dolls." Jiaojiao broke free and ran straight to the glass cabinet.
Neither she nor Xiaoxiao saw the ready-made clothes hanging on the wall.
Lin Ziyan followed and realized that her hand had been held by Lu Yunshen the whole time.
She glanced down at it but didn't say anything more.
"Sister, why is their hair golden?" Jiaojiao blinked her big eyes and pointed at the dolls in the glass case.
They were all wearing high heels, had blonde hair, and wore pretty little dresses.
Xiaoxiao pursed her lips, her gaze fixed on the doll.
She had seen similar dolls when she went to the city to participate in a competition and knew they were very expensive.
"You two each choose one," Lin Ziyan said with a faint smile.
When she was this young, her parents prepared many dolls for her, all kinds of them.
As I grew up, those dolls were all neatly stored in a cabinet and preserved in good condition.
Childhood is dreamy, and it's also fun.
A dark glint flashed in Lin Ziyan's eyes.
"Just buy it for my sister," Xiaoxiao said, shaking her head after looking at the price.
10 yuan each, too expensive...
Jiaojiao looked at her second sister, then at her eldest sister, torn between whether or not to buy it.
"Of course we should buy them together; we can't just give one New Year's gift."
After Lin Ziyan finished speaking, she beckoned to the sales clerk and pointed to two dolls.
I want both.
Lu Yun Shen looked at her, his eyes deepening, thinking that if they had children in the future, she would definitely spoil them.
Lin Ziyan felt her hand being gripped tightly and looked at him in confusion.
"I also want the two sets of clothes on top, as well as this schoolbag, pencil case..." Lin Ziyan continued.
The sales clerk was overjoyed; this was a big customer, buying so many things at once.
Jiaojiao and Xiaoxiao hugged their dolls and didn't look at anything else.
When it was time to pay the bill, the cashier couldn't help but praise them.
"You two are really generous with your money when it comes to buying things for the child; it's rare to see you buy so much at once."
Lu Yun Shen didn't refute, pretending not to hear.
Lin Ziyan wanted to explain, but when she looked at Lu Yunshen, who was enjoying himself, her lips twitched, and she simply said nothing.
When Jiaojiao called her "sister" as soon as she entered the store, the sales clerk was probably too busy to hear her, otherwise there wouldn't have been such a misunderstanding.
The two younger sisters were so captivated by the dolls that they couldn't hear anything anymore.
By the time they returned home with their bags and packages, it was already evening.
They also visited the market and bought a lot of things.
Lin Ziyan was glad that Lu Yunshen had come along, otherwise she really wouldn't have been able to keep an eye on her two younger sisters, there were just too many people.
"Wait, I'll go upstairs and get you a gift." She said this and went upstairs.
Lu Yunshen leaned against the fish tank for a while, then she hurriedly ran down.
"Open it when you get back, there's a surprise inside." Lin Ziyan handed him a large gift box.
Lu Yunshen's eyes gradually deepened, and he suddenly felt that the gift he had given her was too insignificant.
Lin Ziyan had no idea what he was thinking; she was simply delivering according to her ability.
A transparent jar of blue stars, each star bearing a sentence.
There was also a watch, a gray cashmere scarf, sunglasses, and so on.
