Lin Ziyan sat calmly in the car.
The distance from the electronics factory to the police station wasn't far; the car stopped after ten minutes.
Lin Ziyan followed them to the interrogation room and glanced at the time.
She hired a lawyer and got ready.
"Smack!"
A document was slammed onto the table.
Lin Ziyan looked indifferently at the police officer sitting opposite her.
She didn't rush to open the file; even without opening it, she knew what it was.
"Look at the data and tell the truth." A cold voice rang out.
Lin Ziyan remained silent; if you want to find fault, you can always find a reason.
Among the documents she had the chubby girl hand over was a printed document showing the tax invoice for Katie Electric Appliances, but now they're seizing on that and refusing to listen to any explanations before shutting down the store.
They dared not shut down the factory because Katie's accounts were still held at the electronics store, not at the factory.
The factory issues three copies of its invoices, and the tax bureau keeps a copy.
This ticket stub can't be faked; even if the accountant takes it away, it's useless.
"Do you think we can't find out anything if you don't tell us anything? Confess and you'll be treated leniently; resist and you'll be punished severely. If you don't confess, don't blame us for being impolite."
“The Lu family is in dire straits themselves and can’t help you,” the interrogator continued.
Lin Ziyan looked up at him and slowly said, "I don't need to prove I'm guilty. If you really have enough evidence, then go ahead and file a lawsuit!"
"You're welcome? Are you going to use torture? My lawyer is right outside..."
This threat had no effect on her. She wouldn't have come with them to be investigated if she didn't want to see who was behind this.
Lin Ziyan concluded that the evidence they had wouldn't even be enough to secure an arrest warrant.
Strict tax investigations do not mean that people can be arrested arbitrarily under false pretenses.
Their current attitude is to interrogate her as if she were a criminal.
"You think you can get out now that you're in?" The man leaned back arrogantly in his chair and continued speaking.
His eyes were full of contempt, and a hint of hatred.
After Mayor Jiang fell from power, Jiang Ling was demoted to a front-line position.
Now is the perfect time to vent Madam Jiang's anger, otherwise the Lu family would have gone too far with their arrogance.
Rumors are circulating that the investigation into the Jiang family was orchestrated by the Lu family.
The Lu family targeted the Jiang family because Old Madam Jiang had offended their granddaughter-in-law, Lin Ziyan.
Lin Ziyan suddenly stood up. "I can cooperate with the investigation, but if you want to arrest me, please produce an arrest warrant."
"If you're going to bend the law for personal gain, are you really prepared to take off this uniform?"
Something happened to the Lu family; that was Lin Ziyan's first thought.
Lu Yunshen flew to Beijing early this morning without specifying what it was for.
"I'll just let it go because of personal favoritism, what can you do about it?" Jiang Ling narrowed his eyes, thinking to himself that the Lu family was indeed too arrogant. No wonder distant relatives dared to collude with outsiders to steal national treasures.
Lin Ziyan chuckled, took out the voice recorder, and turned it on.
Everything they just said was recorded.
This voice recorder was just developed by Hairun's R&D department; she never imagined she would use it one day.
Upon hearing the conversation, Jiang Ling's expression changed instantly, and she suddenly reached out to snatch it.
"What are you doing?"
A dignified voice came from the doorway, and the bureau chief strode in.
He was followed by a man in a sharp suit.
"Hello, I am Mr. Lin's lawyer..."
…
In less than half an hour, Lin Ziyan came out of the police station with a calm expression.
The lawyer briefly explained the situation to her; the person she had just spoken to was a member of the Jiang family.
Rumors are circulating in Beijing that the Lu family was behind the Jiang family's downfall, so the Jiang family faction is fixated on the fact that a distant relative of the Lu family stole national treasures, hoping to bring the Lu family down.
Lin Ziyan found it unbelievable; how could someone imagine something like that?
Mayor Jiang's arrest has nothing to do with the Lu family.
No, it's not that it's unrelated, but the main problem is that the Chiang family chose the wrong side and were pushed out as scapegoats.
"Okay, I'll need your help to inquire about the Hairun Electrical Appliances City."
"It would be great if the shop could open before the New Year." Lin Ziyan said this as she saw Sister Fang get out of the car, and then walked over.
The sky was overcast, and a storm was brewing.
It has been raining in various parts of Fuzhou recently, and the temperature has dropped sharply.
"If I hadn't seen the lawyer arrive, I would have rushed in." Mu Fang looked worried and only breathed a sigh of relief after driving the car a kilometer away.
"They closed the store without a word, and there are all sorts of rumors going around."
Lin Ziyan remained noncommittal; she didn't care what the rumors said.
Someone is now targeting the Lu family, which is quite troublesome, and there's not much she can do to help at the moment.
"The order from Katie was just delivered; it came on a flight. Otherwise, it would have taken much longer to arrive." Fangjie's head ached at the thought.
Katie's electrical appliances have all the necessary customs clearance documents, so there shouldn't be any problems.
“I’m more worried about Sister Qiuying now…” Lin Ziyan said quietly.
…
Lu Qiuying rushed from the city to the small commodities market overnight.
The workers here suddenly started rioting because of overtime issues.
Basically, the foreman withheld the workers' wages and forced them to work overtime.
Several young men, unable to contain their anger, took the lead in causing a disturbance.
When Lu Qiuying arrived, everyone was shouting and yelling around the market entrance.
"What kind of lousy market is this? They make us work overtime without paying us. Are they treating us like monkeys?"
"The stalls have all been sold, and they're saying they don't have money to pay wages? Do they think we're all fools?"
"Get the person in charge out here immediately, or we'll get the city's TV station involved..."
Lu Qiuying frowned, her eyelids twitching as she listened.
She was extremely anxious when she received her brother's call in the morning, and she never expected that something like this would happen in the afternoon.
