Chapter 503 Historical Corridor

"Yi Ting, you're doing stupid things." Su Nan glanced indifferently at the woman with a face full of pimples, not even sparing Yi Ting another look.

Lin Ziyan raised an eyebrow, waiting to see what she would do next.

The surrounding discussions leaned towards the Su family, but perhaps because people recognized Yi Ting's identity, they dared not say anything unpleasant.

A faint scent of peach blossoms lingered in the air, and a gentle breeze drifted in through the window.

Yi Ting's face turned deathly pale. Her name was engraved on the porcelain jar, and she couldn't deny it.

If her father found out, she would have to travel across the ocean alone.

Now she needs to figure out a way to get away...

Before she could think further, Su Nan picked up a porcelain jar, walked up to the woman, and spoke calmly.

"Do you want to be disfigured or have it fixed now?"

If it weren't for the foreign guests visiting today, Su Nan wouldn't have bothered talking to this woman any longer.

Based on her observation, if the problem isn't repaired now, the woman's face will be marked with scars for the rest of her life.

That's really harsh, a 2:1 mixture of talcum powder. If it's not repaired tonight, I'll be woken up by the itching in the middle of the night.

Su Nan studied dermatology in college and is currently working at Puren Hospital in Teng City.

However, she only sees patients once a week, and the appointment slots are already booked for six months from now.

"You...you're scaring me..." The woman's expression changed instantly.

She saw the repair cream that Su Nan was holding, and was surprised and frightened. She subconsciously looked at Yi Ting.

People around initially thought the two didn't know each other, and that the names on the jar were just a coincidence.

The woman's reaction made the onlookers realize what was going on, and they looked at Yi Ting with a questioning gaze.

"I never scare people. Right now, your face is burning, and your hands will instinctively want to scratch it. Your whole face will be covered in marks by now," Su Nan said calmly.

"If you admit that she instructed you to do it, I'll give you the repair cream; otherwise..."

Su Nan's gaze was too cold, and he seemed completely indifferent, which made the woman's eyes flicker and she began to hesitate.

Lin Ziyan took a closer look at the woman's face and gave a slight twitch at the corner of her mouth.

This woman dared to use so much talcum powder; ignorance is no excuse.

"Ayan, why does her face look even redder?" The chubby girl asked with a puzzled expression, subtly observing her.

As soon as she finished speaking, the woman jumped up, pointed at Yi Ting, and said...

"It was her. She told me to come to the store and cause trouble today..."

The chubby girl quickly pulled Lin Ziyan aside, away from the woman.

Su Nan glanced at Yi Ting, then handed the repair cream to the manager next to her, "You apply it for her."

Su Nan easily defused the farce, and the onlookers dispersed, only muttering a few words in hushed tones.

"How could Mayor Yi's daughter be like this?"

"You don't know, this is his youngest daughter. I heard she only got into university because of her family."

"No wonder, her manners are so-so..."

These words seemed to be spoken intentionally so that Yi Ting could hear them; the voice was lowered and the volume was just enough for her to hear clearly.

Yi Ting clenched her fists, wishing she could disappear into a hole on the spot.

She tried to sneak out, but was stopped by the shop's employees. "Miss Yi, please come to the inner room for tea."

Lin Ziyan pulled the chubby girl to the door to wait for Mr. Lyme.

They agreed to meet at the door last night, and now the time is perfect.

"I just secretly looked at their prices, they're expensive," the chubby girl whispered, glancing back at the Fuyuan Garden.

Lin Ziyan chuckled, "Things used in the palace were things that even money couldn't always buy in the past."

The chubby girl nodded, and thinking about it that way, the price didn't seem so abrupt anymore.

The two hadn't been standing at the door for long when Mr. Lyme arrived.

Lin Ziyan led them into Fuyuan Garden and began her introduction from the corridor.

Lyme and his wife seemed very interested in the history of the area.

Using paintings to tell history, she slowed her pace.

The chubby girl listened attentively; she had gone straight inside and hadn't paid attention to the paintings here.

Not all of them are paintings; some are photographs.

Mrs. Lyme was particularly interested in a watercolor painting and considered buying it.

Lin Ziyan said, "These paintings are almost all unique pieces, and I won't sell them."

Her tone was so certain that Lyme raised an eyebrow.

"The paintings here are indeed not for sale." A soft voice came from the other side.

When Lem saw her, his eyes lit up instantly, "Su?"

Lin Ziyan and the chubby girl exchanged a glance, surprised that Lem knew Su Nan.

How come he doesn't know about Fuyuan?

Su Nan stepped forward and greeted them.

Mrs. Lyme looked puzzled, nodded at her, and admired her in her heart, thinking that the girl in front of her seemed to have come from another era.

Su Nan wore a cheongsam, her hair was styled in a low bun, her back was straight, and her slender waist looked as if it could be snapped with a pinch.

Her demeanor was very much like that of a noblewoman from their country.

But she is more elegant and gentle.

"This is my family's property. I didn't expect Mr. Lyme to be interested in a cosmetics shop." Su Nan's indifference faded, and she made a teasing remark.

Lyme's eyes revealed undisguised admiration. "He came with my wife."

He took his wife's hand and introduced them, "This is Professor Devon's prized student, Su Nan."

"These two are my friends, Lin Ziyan and Chen Zhenzhu."

Su Nan nodded to them, her expression indifferent.

She looked at Lin Ziyan and smiled faintly, "I never thought that decades later, the Lin family and the Su family would reunite in this way."

She was in the pavilion behind the corridor just now, and happened to hear Lin Ziyan's introduction.

Not everyone can pinpoint the exact year of that portrait.

She had only suspected it before, but seeing Lin Ziyan made her almost certain.

Lin Ziyan was not surprised that she could recognize her.

Ah Tai's mother was from the Su family, so they must have kept the photos.

Lin Ziyan didn't say much, she just nodded.

“Every painting in the corridor is a piece of history, and this history is somewhat related to your country.” After being polite, Su Nan’s words became sharp.

It is less a history and more a history of a century of humiliation.

The Su family was almost buried in the long river of history.

Mrs. Lyme's face showed displeasure, and the goodwill she had felt earlier vanished instantly.

Upon hearing this, Lin Ziyan noticed the festive decorations that had been removed from the doorway, and her eyes flickered slightly.

On the day Tengshi fell, countless people were displaced, and their families were torn apart.

The paintings displayed in this corridor seem to be a warning to everyone.

What would foreign guests think if they saw this today?

Su Nan probably doesn't care at all about the so-called foreign guests.

“Su, your personality is the same as before,” Lem said meaningfully with a faint smile.

He didn't think anything of it; on the contrary, he appreciated Su Nan even more.

Not everyone can expose their humiliation to others, but the person in front of you can.

Su Nan's eyes were indifferent. She didn't introduce anything to them anymore, but instead led them inside.

The truth is hard to hear; only thieves feel guilty.

Lady Lyme was angry because she felt that her country's thieving behavior had been exposed.

But wasn't she enjoying watching it just now?

A hint of mockery flashed in Su Nan's eyes. Of course, it's fun to watch other people's misfortunes, but how can you feel the pain if the needle doesn't prick you?
