Time flies.
The conversion of cargo ship S has been completed.
Lin Ziyan handed the tidied drawings to Grandma Lan, then went home to get her fishing rod and backpack before heading out.
She needs to stop and rest.
Both the fish farms and shrimp farms are managed, and some major incidents have occurred at the seafood market.
Lin Ziyan felt that being reborn here wasn't too difficult.
The real hardship is trying your best to do something, but never quite achieving your expectations; that's true hardship.
"Ayan, wait for me."
Lin Ziyan stopped in her tracks.
Lu Qiuying carried the small bucket and ran towards her.
"Sister Qiuying, when did you get back?"
Lin Ziyan has been busy renovating the S-class cargo ship lately and hasn't been attending classes at the He family's house for a long time.
Grandma Lan asked her to organize the blueprints as a form of homework.
So the two haven't seen each other for almost a month.
The new port is currently at a critical stage of construction, and Lu Qiuying goes to the port every day to keep an eye on it, fearing that there might be any unexpected situations.
"Just got back," Lu Qiuying said with a smile as she walked alongside her.
"Are you going to go beachcombing?" Lin Ziyan's lips twitched slightly when she saw the bucket in her hand.
Lu Qiuying nodded, "I've been in Fuzhou for so long, but I've never been to the beach."
The two chatted and soon arrived at the large reef.
Lin Ziyan didn't bring her easel this time, only her fishing rod and a small bucket.
She'd never been to the sea before, so it was good to have someone to keep her company.
The sun had already set, and the afterglow of the sunset was reflected on the sea.
Scattered rocks and ankle-deep, somewhat icy seawater.
Lin Ziyan secured her fishing rod before walking with Lu Qiuying to the lower tide zone.
A few small crabs walked along at a leisurely pace.
There are many small holes bubbling on the sand.
Wearing rubber gloves, Lin Ziyan slowly dug through the sand.
"Ayan, crabs..."
Lu Qiuying laughed like a child, holding a crab with tongs.
The glow of the sunset fell on her face, making her look exceptionally gentle.
"Are they a pair?" Lin Ziyan held up the crabs she had dug out.
Not too big, not too small, and with a bit of meat on it.
The two then found oysters, shellfish, sandworms, and other seafood.
As darkness fell, both of their buckets were full.
Lin Ziyan found it strange that no one came here to go beachcombing.
“My grandma said the waves here are terrifying. Someone was swept away once, and no one has come here to go beachcombing since then.” Lu Qiuying noticed her doubt.
Lin Ziyan reeled in her fishing rod and caught a very small fish, which she planned to take home and keep as a pet.
The two returned to the village before dark.
As soon as Lu Qiuying stepped into the courtyard, she saw someone she hadn't seen in a long time.
"Second Uncle?"
She called out suspiciously.
The air smelled of chives and eggs, and there was also the aroma of fried fish...
"Little girl, you've grown wings, haven't you? How long has it been since you came back to Beijing?" Lu Yunqi said, feigning anger.
He spends most of his time in the military and rarely goes home, but his niece goes home even less often than he does.
Lu Tianqi is more than ten years younger than his older brother, and their relationship is more like that of elders.
But nephews and nieces are different; they are more like peers.
Before this mission, the higher-ups gave him a long holiday, but he didn't want to stay in Beijing, so he came directly to Fuzhou.
They went to the municipal government office building but found it empty.
When they arrived at the fishing village, they only found two old people.
"Second Uncle, you always have such a long face, be careful you won't find a wife in the future." Lu Qiuying said this and quickly took the bucket to the kitchen.
These seafood items are perfect for an extra meal.
Lu Tianqi gave a helpless twitch of his lips, "Does this little girl deserve a beating?"
Grandma Lan said, "Tianqi, come in quickly and get ready for dinner. Don't wait for Yun Shen and the others; they probably won't be able to come back for dinner tonight."
The S-class cargo ship has been successfully modified, and they will transport it to the port tonight for easier operation.
Lu Tianqi followed Lu Qiuying into the kitchen, rolled up his sleeves, and prepared to process the seafood.
He was used to working in the military, so he was very fast.
Lu Qiuying was boiling water nearby.
"Second Uncle, why didn't Grandma think of arranging a blind date for you?" Lu Qiuying asked suspiciously.
Lu Tianqi pursed his thin lips and remained silent.
Years ago, when he went on a mission, he told his family that he had suffered serious injuries, so no one dared to urge him to get married.
Of course, only his nephew knew that this was a lie.
"When would I have time?" Lu Tianqi replied dismissively.
Lu Qiuying clicked her tongue a few times, then didn't ask any more questions.
The two chatted about their recent lives, acting more like friends than uncle and niece.
…
On the other side
After dinner, the Lin family gathered in the courtyard to chat.
Aunt Huang brought over the freshly made zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) and sat down to chat with Grandma.
Aunt Chen also brought over some zongzi (sticky rice dumplings).
"What festival is it today? Why are you all wrapping zongzi at the same time?" Lin Ziyan racked her brains but couldn't recall what festival it was.
"We're going to the temple today because it's a family reunion festival here," Grandma explained.
Grandma has been busy harvesting sweet potatoes lately and hasn't had time to make zongzi (sticky rice dumplings).
Lin Ziyan looked up at the high-hanging moon, which appeared hazy as if it had been soaked in water.
The evening breeze carried a chill; true autumn was approaching.
But the leaves on the leaves in the yard were still dark green and not blistered at all.
Lin Ziyan rested her chin on her hand, thinking that she should go find custom furniture the next day so that she could move into her new home before winter.
The new house is almost finished being renovated, but it's empty and has no furniture at all.
"Ayan, why did you leave so much space in your new house?"
"Logically speaking, this spot should extend outwards," Aunt Chen pointed to the balcony.
That's the side balcony, with plenty of space.
