Fang Jie and Song Yi also packed their luggage and checked into the first-class suite.
Their room was right next to Lin Ziyan's.
"Who is Ayan's uncle? It's very difficult to book a first-class cabin on this cruise ship." Song Yi asked, frowning as he packed his luggage.
Fang opened a bottle of wine, poured two glasses, walked to the window, and looked outside.
Setting off from this port again, her state of mind was completely different.
There's a feeling that things have changed and people are no longer the same.
On a cruise ship of the same size, more than a decade ago she could only dress as a man and hide in the lowest cabin.
Now, however, she lives in first class with a sea view.
"The port reconstruction was funded by her uncle's donation," Fang Jie said casually.
The sea breeze ruffled her long hair, and the sunlight shone directly in her face, but she did not shy away from it; instead, she basked in its warmth.
The light green cheongsam hugged her curvaceous figure.
Her fair skin seemed to glow, and her charming eyes exuded a scholarly air.
Looking at her enjoying herself so comfortably, Song Yi felt a pang of heartache in his eyes.
More than a decade ago, she dressed in men's clothing and deliberately used makeup to completely conceal her facial features, hoping for a sliver of hope.
He failed to keep their promise, leaving her to wander alone abroad for so many years.
Fangjie was also lost in memories.
Song Yi stepped forward and pulled her into his arms, his eyes slightly red, and whispered in her ear, "This time we'll walk the same path you once walked."
Mu Fang paused for a few seconds, then looked up at him, her fingertips gently tracing the corners of his red, shimmering eyes, without saying a word.
They had known each other since childhood; one was a young lady from a scholarly family, and the other was the son of a leading opera singer—their social statuses were vastly different.
The only son of the Mu family, Mu Fang's older brother, secretly joined the Air Force while studying at university, and ultimately sacrificed his life.
During the turbulent years that followed, the Mu family was falsely accused, their property was confiscated, and they were subjected to public criticism. Only Mu Fang was secretly sent to a cruise ship by the housekeeper.
The Mu family was eventually separated at that time.
"Don't think about the past..." Song Yi grabbed her wrist and said softly.
Mu Fang nodded, the scene of her family parting flashing through her mind.
When her brother's memorial tablet was thrown on the ground and trampled on, her mother rushed forward to grab it, and then smashed her head against it, killing herself.
The father was forced to watch the mother's horrific condition, and eventually died vomiting blood.
The housekeeper secretly led her out of the old house and headed straight for the train station.
Later, she met Song Yi on the train, and then the two agreed to board the ship together...
Knock, knock,
Mu Fang snapped out of her daze and looked towards the door.
"I'll go open the door." Song Yi walked over, looked through the peephole to see who was outside, and then opened the door.
"Ayan," Fangjie immediately strode over.
Lin Ziyan said, "Sister Fang, I got stabbed by Brother Song's eyes."
She quickly hid, not daring to give Fang Jie a full hug.
Mu Fang pressed her fingertip against her forehead. "So you've learned to make fun of me now?"
She always felt that the current Ayan was her original personality.
"Sister Fang, Song..." Lu Qiuying almost called out to Uncle Song.
After all, Song Yi is about the same age as her uncle.
"Qiuying, use the same way you address me in Beijing."
"He does look older than me," Fang said with a slight smile, raising her eyebrows.
Song Yi, “…”
Doesn't that mean there's a difference in generation?
An older sister, an older brother…
Lin Ziyan glanced at the furnishings of their room, which were the same as hers.
"Brother Song." Lu Qiuying smiled meaningfully and immediately changed her address.
Song Yi's gentle and indifferent image completely crumbled in front of Fang Jie.
Sister Fang, "Where are you planning to go?"
Lin Ziyan put her arm around hers, "Let's go play."
…
Inside the lobby on the third floor of the cruise ship.
A crystal chandelier hangs from the center, its dazzling light illuminating every corner of the hall.
The cruise ship's stewards, dressed in white shirts, black vests, and bow ties, stood ramrod straight, waiting to serve the guests.
This is the busiest floor on the cruise ship during the day.
Once they enter international waters, the gambling begins.
Lin Ziyan and Lu Qiuying walked side by side, occasionally whispering a few words to each other.
"Please show your access card," a waiter said politely.
Fang Jie held the access card between her fingertips and swiped it on the machine with practiced ease.
"Beep!"
She linked arms with Song Yi and slowly walked inside.
Lin Ziyan took out her room card, swiped it, and saw a friendly reminder in English next to it:
"Exclusively for first-class passengers."
Upon seeing this, Lu Qiuying raised an eyebrow slightly.
The entire inspection team was arranged to travel in first class. Was it so that they could move freely throughout the cruise ship?
Fangjie went straight to the bar and ordered a few cocktails.
She specifically ordered a mojito.
"Ayan, why don't you give it a try in a bit and see how skilled the bartenders are?" Sister Fang said casually.
Song Yi sat next to her, his gaze fixed solely on her.
The woman next to them, dressed in a fashionable dress, had been watching Song Yi intently ever since they walked in.
In this day and age, those who can afford to sit in first class are not ordinary people.
They were eager to make their move, and didn't care at all even though Song Yi had female companions with him.
Song Yi naturally possessed a gentle and refined demeanor, with a warm and gentle expression, giving the impression that he would never refuse someone.
"Ayan, I think the drinks you made last time were better than this," Lu Qiuying said softly, taking a sip of the cocktail.
The bartender was a foreigner, blond with blue eyes and very fair skin.
A high, straight nose, deep-set eyes that seem to draw silk when they look at people.
"Does this young lady also know how to mix drinks?" the bartender asked Lin Ziyan in English.
He understands some Chinese, but he can't speak it.
Fang Jie glanced at the other two bartenders, a dark glint flashing in her eyes.
The two men looked at Lin Ziyan with disdain and contempt.
