I walked towards the family compound while thinking about my worries.
"Li Xingguo, didn't you see your grandparents?" the security guard shouted.
Li Xingguo suddenly woke up, looked up, and saw his grandparents standing at the door.
"Grandma, why are you here?"
"I came to see you, and by the way, I wanted to treat the neighbors who helped me last time to a meal."
Li Xingguo was confused. What kind of help did he have? What was he going to eat?
The old man ignored him and said, "Brother, come when the shop closes. If you don't come, I'll treat you later!"
"Brother, you don't have to come over again. I'll pass by when the night shift starts at six o'clock!" The security guard agreed readily after taking a few sips.
When the old man saw Li Xingguo's state, he knew that his grandson didn't listen to the eldest couple's words at all.
"Grandpa and grandma, I have something to do tonight. Can you come another day?" Li Xingguo said quickly after hearing the security guard agree.
"If you have something to do, just go ahead and don't worry about us," the old man said calmly, and then continued walking towards the staff quarters.
"Master, I'll give you some money. Can you just pay for the meal?" Li Xingguo was anxious. Something important was going to happen that evening, and no one else could be at home.
"Give it to me," the old man stretched out his hand and offered money, but the man refused to take it.
Li Xingguo quickly searched his pockets, but then he froze. How could he have any money? He had given all his money to the old man who was the security guard at the furniture factory. Now he had no money left in his pocket.
"Master, you take care of it first, I'll bring it to you tomorrow morning!"
The old lady glanced at Li Xingguo and said, "I heard earlier that you can buy food on credit at this restaurant. I've already bought the food and are going to eat it at home."
"No, grandpa and grandma, I really have something to do. Can you come back tomorrow?"
"No," the old couple said in unison and walked quickly towards the staff quarters.
Li Xingguo was scratching his head anxiously, trying to persuade the old couple as he walked, but they just ignored him.
When she got home, the old lady went to the kitchen to cook.
Li Xingguo dragged the old man to the inner room and said, "Master, I have something to do tomorrow. Can we do it another day? Otherwise, you can ask them to come out for dinner. You pay first and I will give you the money tomorrow."
The old man sneered, "What's your problem? Are you waiting for Wang Yue to send you money? Are you afraid that we will see it?"
