"Let's go to the beach," Xingguo said, putting on a torn vest.
"So early?"
"If we're late, there will be nothing left." Xingguo went to the wooden box and took out the flashlight. He said something to the old man, took his tools, and led the third child out.
The two walked for about ten minutes and arrived at a beach. There were quite a few people on the beach, including old people, women and children. They were searching the beach in the moonlight, each carrying a bamboo basket.
The third child liked this the most and rushed over.
"Young cadre, you are here to catch shrimps too. I heard your family came to see you. I picked up some shrimps here. You can take them back and cook porridge." The people here are very enthusiastic and want to give what they picked up to Xingguo.
"No need, Auntie. My brother and I will pick them up ourselves. You can keep them for yourself." Xingguo quickly refused. He couldn't accept this. These villagers who went to the beach would dry and sell the things they picked up. They were reluctant to eat them themselves. How could he accept it?
"We eat it every day and are tired of it. Let's take it back and let the guests try it." The old lady wanted to give all the fish she found to Xingguo.
Xingguo quickly ran with the bamboo basket on his back, "Auntie, there are big fish over there, I'm going over there."
"Hey, you young cadre, why are you running? I'll pick up more and send it to you home," the old lady shouted from behind.
"No, no, I can pick it up myself. I don't have time to dry it. It would be a waste if I picked it up. You can keep it for yourself."
The villagers that Lao San and Xingguo met on the beach were all like this, sincerely wanting Xingguo's family to taste their seafood.
Xingguo ran around, busy refusing things, and didn't pick up anything.
The third brother sighed that he was lucky to see such a popular culture among the people of Xingguo in his lifetime.
The third child picked up half a bamboo basket of small shells, crabs, shrimps and other things, but Xingguo was so busy hiding from people that he didn't even fill the bottom of the bamboo basket. Xingguo was a little embarrassed, "These are enough to make porridge."
"I'll put some water in a pot, enough to make a pot of seafood soup. You've been a fisherman for half a year, why don't you go out to sea and catch some fish?"
"I can't. I'm here to help with the construction, not to be a fisherman." Xingguo walked towards the dormitory with an expressionless face, not wanting to talk to the third brother.
At the dormitory door, the old man was catching crabs in a bamboo basket.
Seeing the two grandsons come back, they said, "You picked up so much this morning."
Xingguo smiled awkwardly and said, "It's a low tide today, so there aren't many seafood. These were given to me by the villagers."
Seeing that Xingguo was hiding away, the villagers picked out some food and sent it to the dormitory door.
The old man said, "You are quite popular here. The villagers even give you gifts."
"The people here are very kind and take good care of us cadres who came here." The clothes were delivered, and Xingguo took them to wash. It was too hot to keep them, so he made some and gave them to Xiao Zhang and others.
The third brother also went to help. There were only three old men here, and he didn't want to just watch Xingguo do it.
"You don't know how to wash, it's a waste of water, I can do it myself." The third brother went to help, but was despised by Xingguo.
The third brother... Xingguo is too arrogant, how dare you look down on him?
"Can't I clean this crap?"
"There is little fresh water here, so we have to use it sparingly. Go and have fun, you are not needed here." The doting words of Xingguo gave the third brother goosebumps. Goddess, Xingguo must have been possessed by someone else.
"Xiao Zhang, get up and eat meat porridge," Xingguo shouted.
