The third brother looked at Wu Zhiqiu in disbelief as he seemed to be smiling in the main room. This was the worst possible trick a human could come up with.
"Mom, you're targeting me! I don't agree."
Wu Zhiqiu just looked at him without saying anything.
"Mom, you can't do this. I just collected money from you for the clothes. I want to open a chain store in the future, and the price will be the same for everyone. I even gave you a discount because you are my mother." The third brother made up an excuse for collecting the money.
Wu Zhiqiu ignored him. "Chun Ni, what are we having for dinner tonight?"
Chunni poked her head out of the kitchen, the gloating smile on her face still there. "Mom, let's have lamb rib hotpot tonight. I'll just mix some sesame sauce and we'll be ready!"
Fengchun lowered her head, suppressed her laughter, and went into the house to get the dishes and chopsticks. Dabao and Erbao passed by the third brother carrying vegetable noodles.
The third one...
"Mom, you can't do this to me!"
"Dad, you don't care about my mom, look at how your little son is being bullied!"
I poured myself some of the leftover Moutai from yesterday. "Eat it if you like, or if you think it's too expensive, just move out."
The third brother: "I picked it up, right?"
"You have to be picky when picking up things. Who would pick up a money-losing thing like you?" Mancang said angrily. You dare to ask for such a high price? I can't deal with you.
The third brother sat down at the table and said, "I don't care, I'll just eat!"
Mancang silently picked up the firewood stick beside him.
The third child reluctantly took out the money from his pocket and pushed it in front of Wu Zhiqiu. "Mom, I'm just joking with you, hehe."
Wu Zhiqiu put the money in his pocket and said, "I'm not playing with you. You have to pay for food and accommodation in the future. If you don't pay, you can go out on your own."
"Mom, didn't I give you all the money I earned? How could I have any money left?" The third child turned out his trouser pockets and cried poor.
Wu Zhiqiu rolled his eyes and stretched out his hand, wanting her to speak and give him money.
The third brother... has no money left.
"The money you gave to your family was used to invest in your factory, so how could you have any money with us?" Mancang's eyes widened. If he still wanted to blackmail them, he should be kicked out now.
The third child... forgot "No, Dad, when the factory makes money, I will give it all to the family"
"You won't see any return for a few days, and you're just promising me something, but I still have to support you for a few days? Why are you so happy to ask your mother for money? If you don't pay, get out and live in your own house!"
"No, Dad, you have to take a long-term view. I'll be the chairman of a group company in the future. I'll be picked up and dropped off by cars, and I'll be on TV whenever I want... Hey, Dad, why did you hit me?"
"I've never hit the chairman, I'm just practicing!"
San Bao clapped his hands and said, "Well done, wonderful fight! Uncle San is so good!"
The third brother failed to steal the chicken but ended up losing the rice. He was beaten and had to spend money on food.
Everyone would say: Serves you right!
After dinner, the old man came over and discussed with Mancang about returning to his hometown.
The old man's hometown is in the north. After his mother passed away, he lived with his two eldest brothers.
Around 1930, when warlords were fighting each other and the country was in chaos, the Japanese invaded and oppressed and exploited the local people, forcing them to work. My grandfather was only ten years old at the time, and my eldest brother was twelve. The Japanese did not treat Chinese people as human beings. At the very least, they would beat and scold us, and at the worst, they would risk their lives. If either of them was caught, they would not survive.
The two brothers thought that if a tree is moved, it will die, but if a person moves, he will live. There were still a few families in the village who had no ties, so those who wanted to run away secretly took the mountain road and ran away from their hometown.
They were planning to go to the south, as the Japanese had not yet invaded the south. As for where to go specifically, they had no plan. They would take things one step at a time and stay wherever it was easier to survive.
They wandered around, stopping here and there, begging for food along the way. On their way, they met a landlord who was also going south and wanted to hire some people to escort them to the south. Several of them slept in the open air every day, but following the landlord, at least they had no worries about food and drink. They were from other places, so the landlord hired them and several local people.
