Chapter 644 Returning Home 6 (1/2)

The old brothers ate and chatted, and the old man briefly talked about his life over the years.

Everyone sighed that it was not easy for the old man to be alone away from home, and they also envied others for taking root in Beijing.

The village has been pretty much the same since the Japanese were defeated and left. In the past few years, they were poor because they ate from the same pot, and in recent years, they have been farming on their own, but the yields are not high, and they have not made much money in paying the public grain and taxes. The villagers rely on this piece of land to survive, and there is no way to make money.

Several people drank and recalled their childhood, crying and laughing at times. The meal lasted from noon to dark. Several old men drank too much. Uncle Tiedan fell to the ground and couldn't get up. He was still muttering and continued to drink.

Mancang and Ershuang carried the old man and uncle back home.

As soon as she entered the yard, she saw a lot of people sitting in the dark. "Oh, Second Uncle is finally back. The children have all come to see Second Uncle." Carrie Lam used a palm-leaf fan to help her grandson fan away mosquitoes.

"Grandma, can I eat meat now?" asked the grandson in Carrie Lam's arms, his stomach rumbling.

"We can eat when the Second Master comes back." Everyone in the yard looked at the person that Mancang and Ershuang were carrying on their backs.

"Thank you, you guys eat, we have already eaten. From now on we will eat with you, so you don't have to wait for us." Mancang said with a smile. He had heard from the old man that the Dashuang family was a smiling tiger.

"Brother, what I'm saying is, you've come all the way here, how can we not eat together? Wouldn't that be a joke? Well, where's the key? Open the door quickly, I'm going to cook." Carrie Lam handed her grandson to her daughter-in-law and prepared to go into the house to get the meat. The family hadn't eaten dinner yet, so they were waiting for the meat in the house.

My uncle got married late, and both his eldest and second sons are younger than Mancang.

Mancang had just arrived, and he didn't want to argue with his brother's wife about food.

The uncle asked Ershuang to put him down and said, "No one should touch my things, get out of here." The uncle was drunk, but his mind was clear.

Zheng Yue'e said embarrassedly, "Dad, what you said is true. My second uncle and eldest brother are here, and I am thinking of entertaining them. Our family is waiting for you to come back for dinner."

The old man thought that he should bring the old lady here. If he couldn't curse them out, it would be considered a waste of their time.

"We have finished eating tonight. If you want to entertain us, buy some chicken, duck, fish and meat tomorrow to entertain us." The old man opened the door, carried the old man into the room and put him on the kang.

"Dad, it's so hot that the meat can't be kept. Let me help you clean it up," said Carrie Lam as she was about to go into the house.

The uncle slammed the door shut and said, "I can clean it myself."

Zheng Yue'e hit her forehead on the door, and her head was dizzy.

"Dad! Your son and grandson haven't eaten yet. You can eat and drink well, but you can't ignore your family." Carrie Lam knocked on the door angrily.

"Sister-in-law, you don't understand what I'm saying, right? You're knocking on the door, don't blame me for being rude." Ershuang clenched his fists and glared at Zheng Yue'e.

"How about you being rude? You still dare to hit me? Come on, come on, hit me here!" Carrie Lam vented her anger at Ershuang.

If it were any other time, Ershuang would have hidden away, fearing that the villagers would laugh at him. But today, after drinking a little and with guests at home, he couldn't suppress his anger any longer.
