Chapter 676: Bickering (1/2)

But in their factory, people with high status don't even have time to hide, so it's impossible for them to come.

The factory director held a meeting of factory cadres in the afternoon and introduced Li Xingguo to everyone. Based on their previous conversation, the factory director first asked Li Xingguo to learn from Deputy Factory Director Guo.

Deputy Director Guo was in his forties. He glanced at Li Xingguo and said, "Director, we don't have any orders right now. Deputy Director Li and I don't have much to learn."

The factory manager's face darkened slightly. "There are no orders. Why don't you find the reason yourself? If the product is not good, find a way to fix it yourself."

Deputy Factory Director Guo said, "But our factory has been producing these products for a long time. They used to sell well, but now the market is full of small vendors. It's not our fault."

Factory Manager: "You're blaming national policies. Shouldn't we encourage individuals? Is that what you're saying?"

Director Guo quickly waved his hand and said, "Director, you are wrongly accusing me. I am just reporting the actual situation."

"Do we have to keep producing the same products as before? Since you are in charge of production, can't you innovate and produce products that are apparently easy to sell?" The factory director slammed the table in anger.

Deputy Director Guo's face turned pale. "Director, I am responsible for production, not R&D. Innovation is not my job. The products produced are fine, and that's my job. We city dwellers have had enough of this, but people outside haven't. We should let the sales department explore new markets."

The head of the sales department glanced at Li Xingguo, who was taking notes in a notebook without even looking up.

The new deputy factory manager should be in charge of sales. Now he has learned from the production side, so now he has to take the lead himself.

"Deputy Director Guo, you don't think there are no other food factories, do you? The reason why sales are poor now is that our product is too limited. Anyone with a basic understanding of pastry can make it. It doesn't require any technical skills. There are all kinds of new products on the market. Our products are not competitive at all. How can you expect us to sell them?"

"You are shirking responsibility. How can the products on the market compare with ours?" Deputy Director Guo's eyes widened.

"There's no comparison. Why aren't our products selling well?" Section Chief Zhang confronted Deputy Director Guo. It was impossible for him to let Deputy Director Guo put the blame on them.

"That's your sales problem," Deputy Director Guo said, trying to shift the blame.

"Deputy Factory Director Guo, have you seen it yourself on the market? As for our sales problem, it's still the same old three things. Who wouldn't get tired of eating them after so many years?"

The two of them argued until their faces were red, while the others kept their heads down and remained silent, as if they were used to this kind of quarreling and bickering.

The factory director closed his eyes, frowned, and listened to the two quarreling. Li Xingguo felt lucky and declined the job assigned to him. Otherwise, as a newcomer, he didn't know the factory at all, and he wouldn't be able to find a reason to shirk responsibility even if he wanted to.

The two argued for the entire afternoon without a clear winner. The factory director glanced at his watch, dismissed the meeting, and was the first to leave the meeting room.

Deputy Director Guo snorted and followed him.

The others packed up their things and left work without even returning to the office.

Li Xingguo pushed his bicycle out of the factory.

"Deputy Director Li, Deputy Director Li," someone called him from behind. Li Xingguo turned around and saw that it was Section Chief Zhang who he had been arguing with just now.
