Chapter 840: Falling (1/2)

It is early winter again. The snow fell very early this year and the weather is particularly cold.

The third child still insisted on sending the child to the nanny every day.

Li Mancang admired his perseverance. If he had had this spirit earlier, he would have been admitted to university long ago.

Several rooms were warm, and Uncle Ge and Aunt Yuan were also at his house helping to look after the children.

Li Mancang's cell phone rang.

"Uncle Guan, you finally remembered me?" Li Mancang joked when he saw that it was old man Guan calling.

"I don't need you. How can I remember? Well, I fell and am in the hospital. Can you come and take care of me for a few days?" Old Man Guan said weakly.

"Which hospital is it? I'll be there right away!" Li Mancang said quickly.

Old Man Guan mentioned the hospital and hung up the phone.

"Uncle Ge, Aunt Yuan, I'm going to the hospital."

"Old Guantou fell down, I'll go over and take a look too." Uncle Ge wanted to follow with his crutch.

"You should take a rest and don't make trouble. Let Mancang go and see what's going on first. Wait until the snow melts before you go out." Aunt Yuan was worried about Grandpa Ge going out. Now when Grandpa Ge wants to go to the toilet, Aunt Yuan doesn't let him go out. He always does it at home and then Aunt Yuan goes to pour it out.

"Uncle Ge, you stay at home first. Uncle Guan can still make a phone call. It's no big deal." Li Mancang quickly put on his cotton jacket, cotton shoes, and cotton hat and went out quickly.

After leaving the slum, the alley was filled with north wind, smoke and snow, and the cold wind went straight into the neck.

Li Mancang went to the old lady's house first with his arms folded. He rarely came over because the children were making a fuss every day.

"Mom and Dad, why are you lying there? Are you feeling uncomfortable?" Li Mancang felt a tightness in his heart when he saw the old couple lying on the kang.

The old lady rolled her eyes at her son and said, "Just lie down to keep warm. What are you doing lying down?"

Li Mancang… “Not enough coal? I’ll ask Lao Er to come back and bring you two tons.”

"It will definitely be cold this year, and there may not be enough coal. It would be okay to bring some here," the old man said, smacking his eye bags.

Li Mancang: "Be careful when you go out, it's slippery outside. Uncle Guan fell. I'm going to the hospital to see him."

"I haven't seen that old guy for a while. How come he fell again? You should go over and take a look. Is he serious? Ask the third brother to pick me up later. I will go over and take a look too." The old man's legs and feet were not in good condition now, so he didn't want to go with us right away.

"Okay, I'll go over first. You guys be careful." Li Mancang went out of the house to check the firewood shed. There was not much coal left. The old couple must be reluctant to burn it. He lay on the kang, called the second son, and asked him to buy some coal and send it back. He also brought back two carts of wood and went to the hospital himself.

In the hospital, Old Man Guan was lying on the bed with one leg hanging, and a listless old lady was sitting next to him.

"Uncle Guan!" Li Mancang entered the ward. "Is this a fracture?"

"Mancang is here, please sit down. I went to the toilet the night before last and fell when I came out. My leg was broken." Old Man Guan said listlessly.

Li Mancang: "Why did you just tell me about what happened the night before yesterday?"

"You are busy too, with a lot of things to do at home. If I could handle it myself, I wouldn't have called you." Old Man Guan glanced at the old lady. She was incomparable to the old lady of Old Man Ge. That old lady was good at taking care of things inside and outside the house, and she took good care of Old Man Guan. But this old lady took care of him for two days and then he complained about heart discomfort and couldn't bear it anymore.

"I'm just taking care of the children at home, there's nothing wrong. You too, you're still polite to me. Well, Aunt Cao, I'm here, you go back first." Li Mancang saw that the old lady didn't look very energetic, so he asked her to go back and rest first.

The old lady smiled and said, "My body is useless. I can't stand it for two days. Thank you for your hard work."
