Chapter 888 Her Family Doesn't Want Her Anymore (2/2)

"No need for the leader, I'm fine."

"Your resentment has permeated the area for miles around. It's like a graveyard around you. Your colleagues don't dare to breathe. Go and rest, and adjust your mood," the leader said irritably. He hadn't given her a full leave before because he didn't want her to go to court with her own mother. The less someone expresses their feelings, the more they value family ties. Now that the case is over, she should go home and sort out her feelings so she can work better.

Feeling somewhat embarrassed, Manman said, "I'm sorry, boss, I brought my emotions into my work."

The boss said, "You know that's good. I'm getting on in years, so please don't criticize me too much. Go back now, take a week off, and come back next week."

With a slightly flushed face, she said, "Thank you, boss."

I quickly packed a few clothes and rushed home, not knowing how angry my grandparents were.

After Li Mancang and Wu Zhiqi returned from the court hearing, they didn't have time to be angry. The old man had reached an agreement with the developer. The old man's location was quite good, and the developer planned to use it as a temporary office. The old man would be moving within a week.

The new house isn't finished yet, and Li Mantun's resettlement house isn't spacious either. The old man and woman will temporarily move to the second son's courtyard in the suburbs, and Chunni and the second son will go there to live with them.

The whole family was busy moving the old man and woman.

Manman returned just in time for the work, and quickly joined in the chores.

That evening, Wu Zhiqi went to Manman's room and told her about the court hearing. Manman listened and tears streamed down her face. Wu Zhiqi hugged Manman in his arms.

Manman leaned against Wu Zhiqi's chest, sobbing and venting her emotions.

Wu Zhiqi also shed tears, feeling sorry for the child.

Li Mancang stood outside the door, his old eyes red.

Manman stayed with the old man and woman in the suburbs for a few days. The old woman felt heartbroken seeing that large piece of land in the suburbs was empty. Chunni and Manman planted it for several days, and Manman was so tired that her back ached. She didn't have time to be sentimental. Life is full of scratches except for life and death.

In the tenement courtyard, the developer had talked to them several times. Wu Zhiqi and Grandpa Ge were preparing to leave, while Bai Qiancheng and Zeng Laixi were determined to stay until the end.

After signing the contract, the developer gave them a month to move in. Grandpa Ge paid the price for the new house. It was just the two of them living there, and they only needed to do some simple renovations. Li Mancang found a renovation company to do the renovations.

After the relocation was completed, Grandpa Ge had a lot more money in his hands, and he deposited it all in Aunt Yuan's name.

Wu Zhiqi wandered around the city looking at furniture. She liked Chinese-style furniture and searched everywhere for old items.

Li Mancang followed up on the renovation, and took some time to visit the old man and Old Man Guan.

Old Guan is now radiant and in excellent health. He often takes his birdcage to the park to walk his birds, and his wife and stepson take very good care of him.

Li Mancang and Old Man Guan usually met in the park. Old Man Guan was cunning and worried that if Li Mancang visited his home too often, his wife and stepson would overthink things. So the two of them met like spies making a secret rendezvous.

Old Guan, carrying a scruffy parrot, sat calmly on the bench. When he saw Li Mancang coming over, he asked, "Xiaoyu is coming back. Did she call you?"

"I did call it last night. I was just about to tell you," Li Mancang said as he sat down, looking at the scruffy parrot with a complicated expression. The parrot stared back at Li Mancang with its small eyes.

Old Man Guan: "Do you think I need to tell you? I'm Xiaoyu's own grandfather. You have to tell me, even if you don't want to."

"I thought you were so engrossed in your new relationship that you forgot you had a granddaughter," Li Mancang joked.

Old Man Guan: "Get lost! Who are you insulting? You old hag, stop smearing the 'gentle pleasure quarters'!"
