Chapter 900 You're causing trouble again (2/2)

Dong Yun suppressed her temper and said, "Your grandparents are also moving today. They should all have moved together, right? Just ask your second brother if they all moved to his place."

"Okay, I understand. Thank you for your hard work. Go home now, and we'll talk when I get back tonight."

After hanging up the phone, Li Xingguo sighed. He wanted to try his best to repair his relationship with his family, but it seemed that there was no longer a place for him in their home.

Looking at the constantly fluctuating numbers in the account, and thinking about the family's businesses, he called his second son.

The family was enjoying their meal when the second son, seeing Li Xingguo whom he hadn't contacted in ages, answered the phone.

Li Xingguo listened to the commotion on the other end of the phone, "Second brother, Mom and Dad moved? Where did they move to? Your sister-in-law went to visit them and saw people demolishing the house. She was so worried."

Second brother: "I bought a house and brought Mom and Dad over. I forgot to tell you the address. Look at my forgetfulness! Mom and Dad even told me to let you know, and I still forgot. Don't mind me, big brother. It's not far from where we used to live, in XX community, building X. I bought the whole building. You can come over anytime you want to see Mom and Dad."

Li Xingguo didn't believe a single word his second son said. "Then I'll go visit my parents and grandparents this weekend. You go ahead and do your work."

The second brother laughed and hung up the phone.

Third brother: "Second brother, you've got some good talking skills."

"Stop talking nonsense. Have I lived this long for nothing?" The second brother rolled his eyes at the third brother.

In the evening, Li Xingguo returned home, and Dong Yun sat in the house without cooking.

Li Xingguo: "What's wrong? Why haven't you cooked yet?"

Dong Yun let out a long sigh. "Xingguo, I don't want to try to please your family anymore. Today I carried a watermelon weighing more than ten pounds and ran half a circle around the capital. I was so stupid."

Li Xingguo glanced at the watermelon on the table. "If you don't want to go, then don't. Let things stay as they are. It's neither good nor bad. We can get together during holidays."

Dong Yun seemed not to hear Li Xingguo's words and continued, "Your family doesn't treat us like family at all. They're always on guard against us. They didn't even inform us about such a big thing as the relocation. Your grandparents knew I'd been visiting them frequently lately, but they didn't tell me they were moving."

They didn't take us seriously at all. I was just trying to get something in return, and they wouldn't have bothered with me. They've given us so much over the years, but they've never helped us. They didn't even offer a token of appreciation when our child went abroad.

I don't know what you're thinking, but I don't want to do anything thankless anymore. You're earning a good amount now, and our house will be subject to redevelopment sooner or later. Even if we don't curry favor with your parents now, we'll still have a share of their assets after they're gone. I don't want to go there again.

Li Xingguo paused for a moment, then said, "I'm doing this for my child. International schools are too expensive, and the stock market can't keep making money like this forever."

"Can't we keep making money? How much have we made so far?" Dong Yun didn't know much about the stock market.

“The stock market goes up and down, it mainly depends on your investment acumen. We don’t have much capital. Right now we’ve earned enough for a car, and next month we might earn enough for tuition. School fees are high, and I’m worried about what might happen…” Li Xingguo sighed, looking very troubled.

Dong Yun bit her lip. "If we have more initial capital, can we earn more?"

Li Xingguo: "We've already mortgaged our house, where are we going to get money?"

"If I can earn some, I'll borrow some from my younger brother and sister," Dong Yun said resolutely. She really didn't want to grovel before the Li family anymore.

"It's better not to go. There are risks involved," Li Xingguo refused. Dong Yun's younger brother and sister were not doing well and didn't have much money. If they borrowed money, people would find out that he had made money, and then they would have to decide whether to share the profits or not.

Dong Yun slumped her shoulders; she really didn't want to go to the Li family.

Li Xingguo patted Dong Yun and said, "If you don't want to go, then don't go. Just don't let our relationship deteriorate. I'll try to earn more money so as not to make things difficult for you."

"Hmm, I don't want to go anytime soon. If you want to go, you can go by yourself." Dong Yun got up and went to cook.

Li Xingguo thought about it for a long time, and instead of going home for the weekend, he took Dong Yun to look at cars everywhere.
