Chapter 913 Mutual Help (2/2)

"Brother, didn't you tell the family?"

Li Xingguo gave a bitter smile. "You know what my status is in my family. They treat me like I don't exist and refuse to help me."

Feng Chun paused for a moment. This eldest brother must have done something again to anger their parents, who were now ignoring him. "Won't the second or third brother lend it either?"

Li Xingguo: "My relationship with my second and third sons is so-so. They're both eyeing our parents' things, and they're too busy trying to curry favor with them to lend them to me."

Feng Chun laughed too, "Big brother, our relationship is just so-so, isn't it?"

Li Xingguo... "Our relationship is just so-so, but we are both disliked by our families, so we should help each other."

"Mutual help?" Feng Chun seemed to see her teenage self, who probably said the same thing when she went to talk to Li Xingguo.

“Yes, Mom and Dad don’t like us. We should stick together and we should both get a share of the family’s assets.” Li Xingguo had already thought about what to say before making the call.

Feng Chun: "Big brother, we're not kids anymore. Mom and Dad's money is their private property. They can give it to whomever they want. We don't need it."

“What if Mom and Dad are gone? All the children will have a share of the inheritance,” Li Xingguo said, looking into the distance with a cold tone.

Feng Chun shivered. "Big brother, Mom and Dad are in good health, and Grandpa and Grandma are still alive. Isn't it a bit premature for you to be thinking about these things?"

Li Xingguo: "You never know which will come first, tomorrow or an accident. We need to be prepared, right? Our second and third children are always with our parents. If they transfer their assets, we might end up with nothing."

"Big brother, I was young and made a lot of mistakes. I've said similar things to you before, and now it seems ridiculous. I'm very grateful to my third brother and to Mom and Dad for helping me when I was being reckless and giving me opportunities so that I can have the life I have now. I'm very content now. My second and third brothers take care of Mom and Dad and Grandpa, and it's their right to give them more. I'm just a married woman, and I will be filial to Mom and Dad, but I won't covet my family's property."

After Feng Chun finished speaking, she thought for a moment and said, "Big brother, I remember when you divorced Wang Yue, your family also helped you out, right? We are parents now. Think about the family's conditions back then. They were able to do so much for us. Our parents are great. When we were most helpless, no one but our parents would help us. It's not wrong for people to think about themselves, but they also need to have a conscience. If your children treated you the way you treat them, would you do what our parents did?"

“I don’t need you to lecture me. If you still say that when the day comes, I’ll admire you. Give me some money first, or I won’t even have a place to live,” Li Xingguo interrupted Feng Chun irritably.

"I don't have money, and even if I did, I wouldn't lend it to you. We're not even close enough to borrow money from each other." Feng Chun hung up the phone directly. She couldn't understand human language, and she was too lazy to waste any more words.

Feng Chun was speaking from the heart. From a young age, she knew that no matter what her family had, they would never give it to a girl. That was true for all families. She was just being lazy and trying to be clever.

Ever since the Kong family incident, no one is as reliable as her parents. Even her third brother, who disliked her so much, was willing to help her for their sake. Her parents were her last resort. Now that she was living such a good life, her husband's family valued her, which was also the source of her confidence from her own family.

She wouldn't quarrel with her family over any property; it wasn't going to be given to her anyway. She would do her best to be filial without arguing or fighting. Even though her parents were gone, she couldn't sever her relationship with her second and third brothers.

Li Xingguo tried to borrow money from everyone he knew, including his former colleagues, but to no avail. After so long without contact, who would lend him money?

When he got home, the house was a mess, and the doors to both rooms were closed. Li Xingguo sat dejectedly in the living room, looking at his little home. He had lived to such an old age, and now he had no home. Where was he going to live with his wife and children?

Hearing the commotion, Dong Yun came out of the house. "Xingguo, have you thought of a solution? I haven't been able to borrow any money."

Li Xingguo shook his head. "Go and arrange the school transfer for your child tomorrow."

Dong Yun covered her face in anguish, "My child can't accept it. She says she won't go back to her old school."

"Fine, I won't read it then. Why am I supposed to read it?" Li Xingguo slammed his fist on the table in frustration.

Dong Yun was stunned. "How could you say that? The child is our hope."
