Chapter 924 Let's leave it to fate (2/2)

"You pay back what you wrote yourself. If I ever help you again, I'm not human," Liu Cuihua said fiercely, and then completely ignored Xingping.

Xingping is on the phone with his wife.

"Honey, Mom knows we're divorced, but she won't give me any money. What should I do?"

The wife snorted coldly, "What does this have to do with me? It's only right to pay back debts. If you don't pay me back by the due date, I'll sue you."

Xingping… “What do you mean, wife? Weren’t we just getting a fake divorce to get money? Why are you suing me?”

The wife scoffed, "A fake divorce certificate? You're such a fool. It's a shame I've been with you for so many years."

Xingping… “You’re lying to me?”

"You idiot, stop talking nonsense and pay me back! Don't call me again unless it's to pay me back," his wife said impatiently, hanging up the phone.

Xingping stared blankly at the phone. How could this be? Wasn't it a fake divorce? How did it become real?

Xingping was unwilling to give up and kept calling his wife. His wife got impatient and blocked his number. He went to his wife's parents' house to look for her, but his family kicked him out and he didn't even get to see her.

Upon hearing this, Liu Cuihua was furious. She took her three sons and daughters-in-law and went straight to their house, where they got into a fight. Both families ended up in the police station.

Xingping and his wife each had their own version of events. Xingping wasn't stupid, so he told the police that his wife was a fraudster.

My wife said it was a loan.

The two people wrote the IOU at the Civil Affairs Bureau. The police went to the Civil Affairs Bureau to retrieve the surveillance footage, and their conversation and the process of writing the IOU were clearly recorded.

Therefore, this IOU is invalid and void.

My wife will definitely object. If we lose 100,000 yuan, we'll only have a little over 10,000 yuan in savings left. All these years will have been for nothing.

Liu Cuihua also refused, saying that the daughter-in-law should pay the child support.

The police told both parties to file their own lawsuits, as the local police station couldn't handle the situation and dismissed them both.

"Li Xingping, you just wait!" the wife said harshly as she left with her family.

Xingping was dejected and listless. He never expected that in just one day, he would experience divorce and betrayal, and eventually end up in court.

"Everyone has to live even if someone dies. Don't act like you can't afford to live. You have to live better and make her regret it! Make her come back begging you, and you still won't want her. That's when you'll feel better." Liu Cuihua was angry at her son for being stupid, but she couldn't do anything about it.

Xingping couldn't listen to any of this. After so many years of marriage, he had always listened to his wife. Suddenly, his wife was gone, and he lost his pillar of support.

Xingping's wife went back to her parents' home.

Her mother said, "You're just causing trouble. You were doing just fine, why did you get a divorce? Xingping is honest and listens to everything you say, and his family is well-off. What more do you want? At your age, do you think you can find someone better than Xingping?"

When people come to their door to cause trouble, their family can't back down; they have to stand up for their daughter. But now things have turned out like this—they're just making a fool of themselves, getting no benefit whatsoever.

“What’s the use of listening to me? He’s got no ambition whatsoever. He doesn’t dare utter a word to his parents. Those two old bastards hold onto their money tightly, not letting a single penny slip through their fingers. If they live to be a hundred, they’ll outlive me, and I still won’t need their money,” Xingping’s wife said viciously.

“You don’t need the money, but your son does. They can’t take it with them, it’s only a matter of time. What’s the rush? You have food, drink, and a house to live in. Are you trying to kill yourself?” her mother scolded.

“Mom, I only married Li Xingping because of his family’s wealth. I don’t need any of his money. What’s the point of me staying with him? Don’t worry about me. I’ll definitely find someone rich so that you, Dad and I can live a good life.”

The girl's mother looked at her suspiciously and asked, "Are you seeing someone else?"

Xingping's wife said, "Mom, don't worry about it. By the way, have you withdrawn the money? I'll bring it over tomorrow; the interest is several hundred yuan a day."
