Changshun didn't dare to really strike, but Lao San was acting like a madman. Changshun suffered a lot and got angry, swinging his shovel at Lao San's head.
The third brother, upon hearing the siren, didn't even try to dodge; instead, he banged his head against the shovel.
Changshun heard the noise and quickly withdrew his strength, but unfortunately, he couldn't stop a head from stubbornly bumping into him.
The third brother collapsed to the ground, dazed and confused.
Changshun was so frightened that he quickly threw down the shovel in his hand. He hadn't hit the shovel; he had bumped into it himself.
The second son, Xinghu, the four brothers, Chen Chengping, and the two Zhao brothers entered the hospital with the police.
"Dad!" The second son saw his father lying stiffly on the ground with his face covered in blood. He took two steps forward, but his legs gave way and he fell down. "Dad!" The second son crawled to Li Mancang's side, his hands trembling as he tried to check Li Mancang's breathing.
"Second brother, it's alright, hurry up and get him to the hospital." Chen Chengping didn't know how the person was, but getting him to the hospital was the right thing to do.
Chen Chengping glanced at the third brother again. He was fine; he was far from dead.
Changshun was pinned to the ground by the police. He struggled desperately, shouting, "It wasn't me! I didn't hit them! He hit them! He bumped into something!"
The police ignored his nonsense, twisted his hands, and handcuffed him.
Chen Chengping took this opportunity to enter the house.
Seeing Old Man Guan grimacing as he wiped a brick with a pillowcase, Chen Chengping quickly said, "Let him hold the brick; use this as a cushion."
After saying that, he picked up a brick and hit himself with it. His eyes rolled back, and he lost consciousness.
Without thinking, Chen Chengping quickly stuffed the brick into Changshun's son's hand with a pillowcase, then threw the pillowcase onto the kang (a heated brick bed) and rushed out, shouting, "Officer, there are still people inside, and they're all injured!"
The police rushed into the house, quickly took photos of the scene, and then had the three people taken to the hospital immediately.
The ambulance arrived shortly afterward, and all the people were lifted into the ambulance and taken to the hospital.
The second son watched as the doctor treated Li Mancang's wounds, tears streaming down his face. "Is my dad alright?" he asked in a trembling voice.
"Currently, the vital signs are clear and there is no danger to life, but given his advanced age, it's hard to say whether there will be any long-term effects," the doctor said cautiously.
"As long as he's alive, that's all that matters. I just want my dad to be alive!" the second son choked out, "As long as my dad is alive, that's all that matters."
Changshun's son was the most seriously injured. He had more than 30 stitches in his forehead and head, lost too much blood, and still had blood clots in his brain. It's unknown whether they will be absorbed on their own.
The others were not seriously injured.
The third brother woke up as soon as he arrived at the hospital. He didn't care about himself and jumped out of bed to go see Li Mancang.
Seeing Li Mancang on the hospital bed with an IV drip and steady breathing, while the third son slumped on the ground, covering his face and crying loudly, he was terrified. If anything happened to his father, he really wouldn't be able to live.
The second child, with red eyes, understood the third child's feelings.
They didn't even have their New Year's Eve dinner at home. After receiving a call from Chen Chengping, the whole family rushed to the hospital.
"Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt, Uncle, Uncle is alright, Grandpa Guan is alright too, everything's alright," Chen Chengping greeted them, quickly assuring them that everyone was safe and sound, afraid of frightening the elderly folks.
"Are you injured?" Wu Zhiqi grabbed Chen Chengping's hand.
Chen Chengping quickly said, "You're injured, but it's nothing serious, don't worry."
"Take us to the ward quickly!" The old lady was so anxious that she could barely see.
