Chapter 956 looks familiar (2/2)

Yuanyuan raised her hand and said, "It's me. I just feel like I've seen you before, but I'm not sure."

"It's alright, it's definitely our job. Kid, take another look, does anyone look familiar?" Director Wang gestured, and the surveillance footage was played again on the conference room screen.

This time, the picture was much clearer than what I saw on TV. Several people were wearing big hats, and their faces were covered by cotton-padded coats, so the picture was not very clear. I couldn't see their faces, I could only see their figures.

Yuanyuan knew this was a big deal. He looked at it carefully several times and concluded that it was Huang Mao.

Everyone waited quietly.

Yuanyuan walked to the screen and pointed to a person carrying a bag, saying, "This person looks familiar."

"Good!" Director Wang clapped his hands. "Xing'an, you take your family to rest first. I'll have a good chat with the kid."

The third child nodded and patted Yuanyuan's head. "Don't be afraid, Mom and Dad are right next door."

Yuanyuan felt a little nervous as she watched her parents leave.

"Don't be afraid, your dad and I are old acquaintances, you can just call me Uncle Wang," Director Wang said with a kind smile.

Yuanyuan nodded obediently, thinking to herself, "That smile is terrifying, like a big bad guy trying to trick a child."

Director Wang, usually stern and unsmiling, had no idea that the smile he was forcing was being criticized by the child in front of him.

"Yuanyuan, tell me, where have you seen this person before?"

“Yesterday morning, he and my cousin came to our neighborhood…” Yuanyuan clearly recounted what happened yesterday.

The clerk scribbled down notes.

Director Wang: "Yellow hair? How old could he be?"

"Sixteen or seventeen years old, about the same age as my cousin," Yuanyuan estimated.

"Where does your cousin live?" Director Wang asked again.

Yuanyuan: "My cousin is probably not home. My uncle and aunt are both in the hospital. My dad knows which hospital they are in."

Having gathered a fairly comprehensive understanding of the situation, Chief Wang immediately dispatched officers to take the third son to the hospital.

In the hospital, Xiaoyuer sat by Dong Yun's bedside and complained.

Her aunt woke her up early in the morning and asked her to bring food to the hospital. Why couldn't they bring it themselves in this cold weather? Why did they have to make her, a little kid, do it?

Dong Yun was furious. She was determined to confront her sister-in-law after she was discharged from the hospital. All she had done was stay in the hospital for a few days, and her sister-in-law hadn't even shown her face. Instead, she had been treated like a child, and her brother hadn't done anything about it. She felt like she had wasted her time.

Dong Yun's younger sister couldn't stand it anymore, so she said goodbye and went to work.

Little Fish pointed at her aunt's departing figure and said, "Mom, look at my aunt. She's siding with my aunt too. You never know who she is when she doesn't need her. When my dad was doing well, they would smile like flowers when they saw us. Now their faces are long like they're keeping vigil, as if we owe them something."

Dong Yun also felt this deeply; it was useless to be nice to anyone.

Dong Yun's younger sister ran into the third brother when she went downstairs.

The police officers arrived in plainclothes so as not to alert the suspects.

"Are you going to work?" the third brother greeted.

"Yes, you've come to see my brother-in-law. He's still in critical condition," Dong Yun's sister greeted him politely.

"Oh, she hasn't come out yet? I'll go check. By the way, where's my niece? She hasn't come home either. My parents are asking about her," the third brother asked casually.
