Chapter 976 One King, Two Men (2/2)

Li Mantun and Liu Cuihua, the second son Chunni went to the greenhouse, and Li Mancang and Wu Zhiqi went to attend the parent-teacher meeting for the three children of the third son's family.

The old man sat in the living room with puffy eyes. Seeing the people coming into the yard, he rubbed his eyes and said, "Am I going to die? Can't see the road? How come I see Xingping is back?"

Old Guan, who was half-reclining on the sofa, glanced outside and said, "Wanglu, you have to see if your parents come to pick you up. Xingping is coming to pick you up, so that means Xingping is back."

The old man said, "I don't know. I saw it, but it's not true."

Xingping entered the house with his head down, saying, "Master, I'm back."

The old man asked, "What's wrong? Don't you want to go anymore?"

Xingping nodded. "I'm not going. I'm going to the farm to help my dad with the work. I'm not going anywhere else."

The old man raised an eyebrow. "It's fine if you don't want to go. Your dad has such a big business to manage, so you should do your job well and help him out."

"Okay, Master, I'll go pack my things and leave in a bit." Xingping went back to his room to pack.

"What's wrong with your grandson? What's gotten into him? He just walked out, why doesn't he want to leave again? Does he want to get back together with that girl?" Old Man Guan asked, having nothing better to do.

"Don't pry into other people's business. Do you know why turtles live so long? Because they don't meddle in other people's affairs," the old man said irritably. He could chat about other things, but could he, a grandfather and father-in-law, talk about this?

"She's not your granddaughter-in-law anymore, so what's wrong with nagging? Your family is all about saving face, so no one nags. It's my sister-in-law and Mantun's wife who sit around cursing all the time, bringing up all the shameful things that woman has done. That kid has long since given up on her. If he hadn't, he wouldn't have been able to leave the house, and people would have kept nagging him to death." Old Man Guan said lazily.

The old man really couldn't refute it. What Old Man Guan said made sense. It was true that the whole family was together. Liu Cuihua would complain and curse secretly in the house. If it were just their family before, Liu Cuihua could have cursed all the way up the family tree of Xingping's wife, bringing up her ancestors for eight generations. If she got angry, she would have gone to Xingping's wife's family home to curse. The fact that they could have a peaceful New Year was because the city limited Liu Cuihua's freedom.

As for the old lady, she's too old and her voice isn't strong enough. She gets out of breath after just a few words of scolding, which really affects her performance.

The old lady came out of the house. "Why did I hear Xingping come back?"

Old Man Guan: "Sister-in-law, you're not deaf yet? You can hear everything inside the house."

The old woman, with her squinting eyes, looked at the old man and said, "Not only am I not deaf, but I'm also not paralyzed."

Old Man Guan chuckled, "Sister-in-law, my legs aren't broken. In a few days, I'll be walking like the wind again."

The old lady snorted, "Is that Xingping's voice?"

The old man said, "Yes, I just went back inside to pack my things. I'm going to the farm to help his dad."

The old lady glanced upstairs and asked, "Why aren't you going to Fengchun's? What happened to you?"

"What other kind of shock could he have? I bet that woman chased after him, and Feng Chun must have said something nasty. You couldn't stand it, so you're not going," Old Man Guan said calmly. It was such a small thing, you didn't even need to think about it.

The old man rolled his eyes at Old Man Guan, "You're showing off, all that skill, you almost lost your life."

Old Man Guan... this became a stain on his life.

Old man... you have so many stains on your record, have you forgotten about having a son?

"That would be good too. People should learn more and broaden their horizons. Fengchun is such a perceptive girl now," the old lady sighed.

"Sister-in-law, your useless grandson has seen a lot of the world and is quite educated, so how come he's still so stupid?" Old Man Guan said smugly.
